RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

THURSDAY, 23RD MAY.

THINK THE WORD

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things (Philippians 4:8).

God didn’t only instruct us to mount guard at the door of our hearts against the wrong thoughts from passing through, He also tells us the kind of thoughts to allow. That’s what we read in our theme scripture.

There’re people who have heard something that wasn’t true, or honest, or pure, or of good report, yet they kept it in their minds until it controlled their lives and led to depression. No; that’s the wrong way to live. Don’t brood over anything that’s detrimental to your spirit. Rather, make a practice of forming the right images in your mind in consistency with the Word. When you do, those thoughts will create realities.

Thoughts have power and create realities. What you think about, you become. That’s the reason your thoughts must be wholesome. The admonition in our opening verse is actually a call to think on the Word; to have Word-based thoughts.

When you think on the Word, it’ll create and produce in you ideas and pictures of success, endless possibilities and victories, love and fellowship with God. When things get tough, refuse to be stressed or flustered. Rather, get a hold of God’s Word and brood over it. Don’t think or talk about the problem; just ponder on, and mutter God’s Word about the situation. Soon enough, there’ll be a change; a permanent change. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you because the entrance of your Word illuminates my spirit and causes me to think the right thoughts. I brood only on things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of a good report, virtuous and praiseworthy. Therefore, I make my way prosperous and walk in absolute victory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY

Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

1 Timothy 4:15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

Acts 20:32 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

DATE: THURSDAY 23RD MAY 2019

THEME: COVENANT PARTNERS.

MEMORISE:

Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. Hebrews 8:9

READ: 1 Samuel 1:9-11

9 So Hannah rose up after they had eaten in Shiloh, and after they had drunk. Now Eli the priest sat upon a seat by a post of the temple of the LORD.

10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the LORD, and wept sore.

11 And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.

MESSAGE

For you to fully enjoy the benefits of your walk with God, you need to understand His character. One character traits of God is that He keeps His end of every covenant He enters into. In other words, He is a covenant-keeping God. Based on my experience, I can boldly say that entering into a covenant partnership with God is a wise thing to do. Times without number, God has proved it to me that no one can beat Him in adherence to the terms of a covenant relationship. In today’s Bible reading, we see a situation where God’s need intersected with the need of man to produce a covenant partnership. God urgently needed a faithful priest to replace Eli and his notorious children, while Hannah needed a son to silence her adversary, Peninnah, who continually mocked her on account of her barrenness. To get her heart’s desire, Hannah entered into a covenant partnership with God. She promised that if God would give her a male child, she would give him back to God. The deal was struck: Hannah got a son and God got his priest. The great God even went on to bless Hannah with five more children (1 Samuel 2:21)!

Testimonies abound on covenant partnership in our ministry; testimonies of how God has been keeping His own side of the bargain with those who have chosen to partner with Him in the advancement of His kingdom. There is one covenant partner in our ministry who rose from being an employee to becoming a member of his company’s board of directors. This exemplifies what those who partner with God stand to gain, provided they keep to their agreement with God. There is also this story of someone who chose to partner with God but decided to breach the covenant even before the first miracle matured. A young man came to us and shared his desire to become a covenant partner with God. We prayed, and he received his first breakthrough when someone hired him to put his estate up for sale. When we advised him to give God a tithe out of his profit from the deal, he flared up and said “not until another one comes!” He left in anger, but before long, the fellow who wanted to sell his estate changed his mind at the point of payment, to the extent that he literally chased this covenant breaker away! That was how the young man lost a huge business deal. Beloved, God is a very faithful business partner to have if you decide to enter into a covenant relationship, He chose to make us comfortable by asking for only a tenth of the blessing He gives us. To receive more blessings, the wise will want to increase God’s portion of this sharing formula. Like some of us have done. Choose to partner with God today and you will see how pleasant he is to do business with.

ACTION POINT:

Key into the power of covenant partnership today to receive the answer to a long-awaited request from God.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Exodus 39-40
Jeremiah 40:13-41:8

AUTHOR: PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE

HYMN 4: TAKE MY LIFE, AND LET IT BE

1.Take my life and let it be
Consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
Take my moments and my days,
Let them flow in endless praise,
Let them flow in endless praise.

2.Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for Thee,
Swift and beautiful for Thee.

3.Take my voice and let me sing,
Always, only for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee,
Filled with messages from Thee.

4. Take my silver and my gold,
Not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
Every pow’r as Thou shalt choose,
Every pow’r as Thou shalt choose.

5. Take my will and make it Thine,
It shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is Thine own,
It shall be Thy royal throne,
It shall be Thy royal throne.

6. Take my love, my Lord, I pour
At Thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself and I will be
Ever, only, all for Thee,
Ever, only, all for Thee.

SEEDS OF DESTINY:
BY DR. (PST.) PAUL ENENCHE
(DUNAMIS INTERNATIONAL GOSPEL CENTRE-DIGC)

THURSDAY 23RD MAY, 2019

TOPIC:
A LIFTING BY THE OIL

SCRIPTURE: Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the Lord hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance? 1 Samuel 10:1

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The Oil is the answer to the emergencies, urgencies and eventualities of life and ministry.

It is known throughout Scriptures that the anointing of God is a major lifter of life and destiny. Saul, the king of Israel was lifted up by the prophetic Oil of Prophet Samuel (1 Samuel 10:1-10). Also, the prophet’s widow found herself in a calamitous situation and it was the Oil that was available in the house that led to the rescue of her destiny through the Ministry of Elisha the prophet (2 Kings 4:1-7).

The Oil is a symbol that represents the anointing and it is critical to life and destiny. You have no need to fear for your life if the Oil is present.

Now, let me give you various areas of life where the anointing produces result:

1. The Oil is the answer to the tears of life, destiny and ministry. Sorrowing and mourning are not permitted to continue if the oil is not lacking.

2. The Oil is the answer to inherited and generational curses, liabilities and challenges.

3. The Oil is the answer to the emergencies, urgencies and eventualities of life and ministry.

Beloved, if you must live a life of impact, you must be in possession of the Oil. Wherever your Oil ends, your impact dies. The evaporation of the Oil is the minimization of impact. If are going to impact your world and impact your generation, you must be in possession of Oil.

REMEMBER THIS: The Oil is the answer to the emergencies, urgencies and eventualities of life and ministry.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Ask God to anoint you afresh at the place of prayer.

2. Let the environment of your life be always conducive for the Presence of God to thrive in order to be imparted with the anointing.

PRAYER: O LORD, I ask that You lay Your Hands on me. Let Your anointing be real in my life, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: A LIFTING BY THE OIL (ANOINTING).

QUOTE: What you believe is a vehicle to where you arrive. Culled from 22 LAWS OF LIFE by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY READING: 2 Samuel 2:12 to 3:39, John 13:1 to 30, Psalm 119:1 to 16, Proverbs 15:29 to 30.

AMAZING FACT: If there was a computer as powerful as the human brain, it would be able to do 38 thousand trillion operations per second and hold more than 3580 terabytes of memory.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: May the Oil of God, the anointing tackle every emergency and dismantle every obstacle around your life currently, in Jesus’ Name

*THE LIVING WATER*

*DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE*

*Thursday, May 23, 2019*

*TOPIC: NO COMPROMISE!*
*Read: Jeremiah 35:1-15*

*MEMORISE: _Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: 'Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, "Will you not receive instruction to obey My words?" says the LORD_ (Jeremiah 35:13).*

*EXPOSITION*

Compromise may be viewed in both positive and negative perspectives. When it is positively used, it refers to making, or allowing peace to reign by accepting to sheathe one’s sword during a dispute. Compromise is negative, however, when certain laid down standards, or rules, measures or regulations, are brought low to suit a lower purpose. This happens almost daily in our economic, political, societal, family, and worse of all, Church settings. Every system seems to have been compromised and consequently, corruption and its attendant woeful results are not negotiable!

The faith which was delivered to the saints, is the same given to us. Christ, Who was the Centre and the Pioneer of the Church is still (and should be) for the contemporary church. This underlies reason why we cannot compromise the laid down standard *(Deut.28:1; 2Tim.2:19).* The world truly cries and dies of fake, adulterated, unwholesome and counterfeited products, due to compromised standards, but does the Church realise this is also bedeviling her?

As it is, the church of today tries diplomatically or modernly to deviate from the old time religion which was good, enough for our patriarchs of faith. The world system may seem good or a better idea but the fact remains, it does nothing to the Church of God, but adulteration and pollution, thereby watering down our songs, sermons, and prayers. *(Jer. 10:1)* There is no room for compromise, rather, we should earnestly contend for the faith that was once delivered to the saints. *(Titus 1:11-12).* Are you going to be a compromiser or conqueror?.

*PRAYER POINTS*

*1.* Oh Lord, make me a conqueror, never a compromiser!
*2.* Lord, please draw me closer and nearer to You where I have digressed from following your will and World.
*3.* Father, have mercy on Gospel musicians who have compromised their faith due to worldliness
*EXTRA READING FOR TODAY: 1 King 10:9 – 11:43; John 6:12 – 6:33*
