Daily Devotional For Friday 5th April
#1
RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

FRIDAY, 5TH APRIL.

FANNING YOUR EMBERS OF JOY.

Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice (Philippians 4:4).

Joy is a fruit of the recreated human spirit, something inherent in you. It doesn’t matter what news or event tries to make you unhappy; you can always be joyful in the Holy Ghost, for such is the Kingdom of God. Romans 14:17 says, “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.”

Ephesians 5:18-19 reveals how you can be full of the joy of the Holy Ghost always. It says, “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.”

This was one of Apostle Paul’s secrets of success; he wrote what we read in our opening verse, while in prison. He was full of joy, and continued to preach the Gospel in prison. In his letter to the Church at Ephesus, he said Pray for me: “…that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, FOR WHICH I AM AN AMBASSADOR IN BONDS: THAT THEREIN I MAY SPEAK BOLDLY, AS I OUGHT TO SPEAK” (Ephesians 6:19-20). Notice the underlined portion; he didn’t allow his experience to dictate his mood or interfere with the joy of the Lord in his heart.

In your life, see challenges as opportunities to manifest the glory of God; that way, you’ll always be full of joy. James 1:2 says, “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations.” Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
The Word should form the basis for your joy at all times. When you interprete and respond to situations on the basis of God’s Word, you’ll discover that nothing in life could give you a bad day, or be to your disadvantage, because your joy comes through the Word and the Spirit of God.

CONFESSION

The Lord Jesus, through His vicarious death and triumphant resurrection, has brought me into the life of unlimited joy, victory, dominion and righteousness. Therefore, I rejoice evermore, with joy unspeakable, and full of glory. My joy is of the Holy Ghost, and it knows no bounds. Hallelujah!

FURTHER STUDY:

Nehemiah 8:10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for [this] day [is] holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

1 Peter 1:8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see [him] not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
Isaiah 12:3 Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.

KINDLY SAY THESE WORDS OUT LOUD

Dear Father, thank You for the blood of Jesus that has washed me white as snow, and brought me into union and fellowship with You. I am grateful that through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ You’ve presented me holy, blameless, sanctified

DATE: FRIDAY 5TH APRIL 2019

THEME: THE SURE ANTIDOTE FOR SHAME

MEMORISE:

Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments. Psalm 119:6

READ: Psalm 119:1-8

1Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.

2 Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.

3 They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways.

4 Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently.

5 O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes!

6 Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.

7 I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments.

8 I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly.

MESSAGE

The original purpose of a devil's deceit is to humiliate man and subject him to eternal fear and ridicule. He succeeded in this ploy in the Garden of Eden, causing shame and fear to cover our first parents like the waters cover the sea. What brought about this shame upon the first man? Disobedience to the word of God was the cause. The Lord had earlier warned Adam against eating the forbidden fruit to avoid grave consequences, but the devil came and lied to his wife that nothing would happen. After Eve was deceived and Adam succumbed to the sin of disobeying God, they discovered shame and fear that they never knew before, because the glory of God departed from them (Genesis 2:25, Genesis 3:10). Just as he did with Eve the devil is still deceiving people today that severe consequence will not follow the act of sin in the life of sinners. Unfortunately, when you look around the world today, you will discover great men and women whom the devil had brought to shame and ridicule by lying to them that there will be no consequences for their evil actions or that their secret sinful act will never be found out. Such people would have avoided public ridicule and shame If only they had known and given heed to God’s word in Numbers 32:23, which says:

“But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.”

Are you involved in any secret sin and the devil is deceiving you that there will be no consequences? The word of God is coming to you today that your sin will find you out. Are you having an extra-marital affair? Are you stealing public funds at your disposal? Are you oppressing those whom God has placed under your leadership? Are you short-changing your place of work in shady deals to your own benefits? Are you visiting pornographic sites in the secret confines of your room? If you are involved in any form of sin, God is saying to you today, “Be sure your sin will find you out.”

Disobedience to God's word brings untold shame and agony. To avoid or remove the shame that sin brings, we must go back to the word of God and do what it says. As seen in today’s memory verse, complete obedience to the word of God is the antidote for shame. In today's Bible reading, those who walk in the law of the Lord are described as blessed. They are blessed because those iniquities that bring shame are far away from them due to the adherence to God’s commandment. Shame is the portion of those who do not consider God’s omnipresent nature before committing “hidden” acts. Before traveling to that far-away secluded location for your illicit tryst, remember that God is there. I pray that sin will not put you in shame in Jesus’ Name.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, help me keep to Your commandments, and keep me far away from shame.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Hebrews 9-10

Jeremiah 11:9-23

AUTHOR: PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE

HYMN 6: HAVE YOU BEEN TO JESUS FOR THE CLEANSING POWER?

1. Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Are you fully trusting in His grace this hour?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Refrain
Are you washed in the blood,
In the soul-cleansing blood of the Lamb?
Are your garments spotless? Are they white as snow?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

2. Are you walking daily by the Savior’s side?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Do you rest each moment in the Crucified?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Refrain

3. When the Bridegroom cometh will your robes be white!
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Will your soul be ready for His presence bright,
And be washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Refrain

4. Lay aside the garments that are stained with sin,
And be washed in the blood of the Lamb;
There’s a fountain flowing for the soul unclean,
O be washed in the blood of the Lamb.

*OUR DAILY MANNA DEVOTIONAL*

_A DEVOTIONAL BOOKLET FOR CHAMPIONS_

*DATE: FRIDAY 5TH APRIL, 2019*

*TOPIC: MEN WILL ALWAYS BE MEN!*

*BASIC SCRIPTURES: JUDGES 8:33-35; JOHN 2:23-25*

Today’s first scripture, Verse 35, says that the people failed to show kindness to the family of Jerubbaal (Gideon) after his death. It says, “Neither shewed they kindness to the house of Jerubbaal, namely Gideon, according to all the goodness which he had shewed unto Israel.” And that is the general natural of men: they will always forget the good done to them and men will always disappoint men! God was not joking when He said, *“Trust ye not in a friend: put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom”* (Micah 7:5). Is that not serious? He says, don’t even tell your secret to he/she that lieth in thy bosom. Why? *Because men will always be men and God will always be God!*

Did Gideon not risk his life for the people? Why did they pay him back by abandoning his house (family)? Why do you think Jesus refused to accept the promotion of men (Today’s 2nd scripture)? Because He knew it was as temporary as an iced cake on a summer plate! In this STORY TO GLORY YEAR 2019, God is warning a user of today’s devotional to stop trusting men. Men can turn your GLORY to STORY! Stop crying that men are disappointing you or that the last good you did was not appreciated! *Have you forgotten that men’s good deeds are written on water in the hearts of other men? Can you remember anything written on water?* Did nine out of the ten lepers not forget to appreciate Jesus? Was Joseph not forgotten by the BUTLER (Genesis 40:23)?

*They must forget you because they are men!* Stop complaining over the unreplied mails/phone calls! Dear pastor, elder/minister of God, some of those you pray for, will never remember you! It is the nature of men! Don’t expect a “thank you” for your efforts. *Settle your account with God and never forget His is your rewarder!* Give people (INCLUDING YOUR OWN CHILDREN) an allowance to fail you because they can! Trust God alone and wait for Him as your ultimate Rewarder/Judge! Close with Micah 7:7:

“Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation…” Make that your declaration in all your dealings with men this year and beyond! Peace!

*PRAYER POINTS:* Take Song 2: Count Your Blessings…

1. In your own words, pray over today’s word as led now.
2. Repent from trusting/expecting any reward from men in the past. Lord, stop any plan to attack the secrets of my life.
3. Pray over any past pain of disappointment now. Lord, heal my wounded soul concerning this matter *(mention it now).*
4. Lord, be my rewarder in all I do. I shall not expect appreciation from men. Lord, appreciate me *(lift me)* concerning my good deeds to others *(Pray it well).* Pray about today!

*Song 2: Count Your Blessings*

When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

*Refrain*

Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.
Are you ever burdened with a load of care?

Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly,
And you will keep singing as the days go by.
When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;

Count your many blessings. Wealth can never buy
Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.
So, amid the conflict whether great or small,
Do not be disheartened, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.

Seeds of Destiny

Friday 5th April

TOPIC: ACCESSING AND PROFITING FROM THE WORD

SCRIPTURE: Thus saith the LORD,"thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go. Isaiah 48":17

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The Word of God contains our inheritance; it is calculated for the profit of God’s people.

The Word of God is a mine of inestimable treasures and riches. It is pregnant with benefits and profits for those who prayerfully and dedicatedly access and explore it. There are profits from accessing the Word of God. The Word of God contains our inheritance; it is calculated for the profit of God’s people. The aim of the instructions in the Word of God is for our profiting.

The implication of this is,"when you are connected to the Word of God, your life must experience observable, noticeable and evidential profits; people around you would testify that your life has changed since you got connected to the Bible. It is an abomination to carry and study the Bible as a genuine child of God without evidential profits.
Now, how do we access the Word of God for our profit?

i. Have Interest in the Word
Interest brings insight (Hosea 6":1-3). Where there is no interest,"there can be no insight. Your interest in the Word must be high for you to see anything out of the Word. The Word of God is concealed, so, it must be revealed by depth of passion and hunger.
ii. Be Fervent in the Spirit
Spiritual fervency is a key to insight. A man on fire for God who is literally praying in tongues can never be bankrupt of insight from the Word (1 Corinthians 2":9). So,"the process of spiritual fervency is a process of spiritual revelation.
Beloved, my counsel is, apply yourself to diligently secure access to the Word of God on a continual basis. Apply your life to the things you see out of scriptures until noticeable progress is experienced in your life.

REMEMBER THIS": The Word of God contains our inheritance; it is calculated for the profit of God’s people.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Continually and consistently study the Word of God.
2. You can use the Guide to daily reading of Scriptures in the Seeds of Destiny to enhance your daily study of the Word.
3. Ask God to open your eyes in His Word (Psalm 119:18).
PRAYER: O Lord,"I ask that You open my eyes to see wonders out of your Word as I study (Psalm 119":18),"in Jesus’ Name.

QUOTE: The reason why there is a shortage of solid Christians today is because there is scarcity of solid Word. Culled from MAKING FULL POOF OF MINISTRY by Dr Paul Enenche

*DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE*

*Friday, April 5, 2019*

*TOPIC: BIBLICAL GUIDELINES*

*Read: Matthew 4:18-20*

*MEMORISE: _Then He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men_ (Matthew 4:19).

*EXPOSITION*

A wide range of answers are always given to the question of being a follower of Jesus Christ. Many think engaging in certain religious activities is equivalent to following Jesus. Although these activities are generally practiced by Christians, not everyone who does them is a Christian. To determine if we are truly following Jesus, we must use biblical guidelines such as.

*1 Born Again* (Jn. 3:13). This is the first qualification to become a follower of Jesus.
*2 Prayer* (Lk. 6:12). If we follow Jesus, we will be a person of prayer just as He was.
*3 Listening* (Matt. 17:5). Only those who regularly listen to Him through various channels by which He releases His Word to us, can enjoy His blessings unstoppably.
*4 Belief* (Jn. 3:16). Redemption is the gift of God. The beauty of the gift is in the reception. God expects everyone to personally accept the gift – accept Jesus as personal Lord and Saviour. That is salvation.
*5 Obedience* (Jn.8:12). Following requires obedience.
*6 Love* (Mk. 12:30). We cannot follow Christ with a divided heart.
*7 Sharing* (Matt. 28:19). This is Jesus’ command, and if we are going to follow Him, we will share the truth of God’s Word with both friends and foes.
*8 Service* (Jn. 12:26). Jesus came as a servant, and as His followers, that is what we should do as well.
*9 Suffering* (Phil. 1:29). We should be ready to suffer for His sake and for the sake of the Gospel.
All these practices are essential elements of our walk with Jesus and should become an important part of our lives as we follow Him.

*PRAYER POINTS*

*1.* Every biblical principle that is too difficult for me to follows, I receive grace to practice them today, in Jesus’ name.
*2.* Lord, meet with all pretenders in our churches all over the world today, so that they can follow You rightly.
*3.* Lord, the grace to practice all the essential elements, to walk truly with You, endow me, today.
