Photos: Remember the gala seller that gave most of his goods to prisoners in a van? see how his life has changed




 
In August 2018, Ugochukwu Ibere, a Gala seller moved people to tears by his actions when he spotted a group of prisoners in a van stuck in traffic and decided to help.
The prisoners were being transported in a Nigeria Prison Force van heading to Ikoyi Prison but were stuck in traffic. As usual, the prisoners stretched out their hands through the tiny holes by the sides of the van and Ibere took some of the Gala he was selling and began distributing to the prisoners for free
His story was shared on social media and his act of kidness warmed him up to so many Nigerians.
 

 
Today, Ugochukwu who was once a prisoner as well, opened a distribution store where he will be selling gala and other grocery items in bulk to retailers. Facebook user, Denike Ajitena who shared the new photos of Ugochukwu in his store, wrote

About 6 months back, we meet Ugochukwu, a street hawker giving out his wares to prisoners in traffic. His act of generosity was so touching, we opened our hearts and wallets to him. For the first time, we gave him hope of his dreams becoming a reality as generous donations were made to him from all over the world.
Today, thanks to Rite Food Limited, #Galaboy has become Ugochukwu Ibere Stores! Rite Foods has opened a store for him, fully stocked with Rite Foods products - Sausage Rolls, Sodas drinks, energy drinks and bottled water, ALL FREE for the period of the contract! FREE! FREE!! FREE!!!
It was beyond imagination. How could he have guessed that his act of kindness would generate such goodwill?! From selling out of a carton in traffic to owing a store! How long would it have taken him to save for rent alone?? And the brand new equipment the company put?? And he will even be able to add provisions and general grocery items to the free products, thanks to your donations!!
And as i say to you all the time, Ugochukwu, this is only the beginning. God has only just began and won’t stop until we see “importer, exporter” and much more added to your name! Stay blessed

Bigi establishes its sausage good-deed vendor, pays two years shop in Lagos





 
A popular Brand in sausage rolls and beverage drinks in Nigeria on Thursday established one of its numerous street hawkers in Lagos by opening a branded Rite Foods Store for him at no 181, Bamgbose Street, Lagos Island and furnished it with Deep Freezer, Generating set, Ceiling fans, Stabilizer,100 cartons of Bigi and Rite sausage rolls, 100 cases of its Bigi beverages and Fearless Energy Drinks among other numerous items. The Company paid a rent of two years with effect from March, 2019 to 2021.
 
Mr. Joseph Adesewo, Regional Sales Manager who represented  Mr. Seleem Adegunwa, Managing Director of Rite Foods Limited made it known during the formal opening of Ugochukwu Ibere store that his good deed has earned him an all expenses paid store by Rite Foods Limited.
 
Adesewo said that apart from Ibere's act of kindness "Our Company is passionate about Corporate Social Responsibility-CSR because its a way of giving back to the Society for the acceptance and patronage given to our products.
 
He reiterated that Ugochukwu Ibere 27 years old, a native of Ebonyi State got this reward for rendering a selfless service to prisoners in Lagos traffic due to his bad experience as an apprentice. 
 
It would be recalled that Ibere was discovered by one Mrs. Adenike Ajitena a Banker and a Lawyer in traffic and his story with pictures went viral on Social Media where he was discovered by Rite Foods Limited.
