Morning Devotional For Wednesday 20th March
#1
RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

WEDNESDAY, 20TH MARCH.

AVOID WRONG ASSOCIATIONS.

Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them (Romans 16:17).

The scripture above admonishes us to mark and avoid those who cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine of Christ. You’ve been taught the love of Christ; you’ve been indoctrinated with the Word of God in a certain direction; continue in the Word. Mark and avoid those who live contrary to the truth of the Gospel; the truth that you’ve been taught
.
This is God’s instruction. It’s the same warning He gave through the Apostle Paul to the Philippian church; he said, “Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision” (Philippians 3:2).
Now, this admonition is primarily for us to stay away from those in the church who don’t follow the truth, who cause dissension and strife. When you see a sign in a building that says, “Beware of dogs,” the sign isn’t telling you about the dogs outside that building, but the ones inside that particular house. So, when the Apostle Paul said, “Beware of dogs; beware of evil workers; beware of the concision,” he was referring to mischief makers in the Church.

These could be people in the same local church, same cell group, same estate, neighbourhood, office, etc., and they’re Christians. He wouldn’t warn you about them if He didn’t think your association with them would be inimical to your Christian walk. Many have found themselves in serious trouble for fraternizing with the wrong people. The Lord’s admonition is clear: you’re to “mark” and “avoid” mischief makers, not try to change them. Don’t keep company with people who deliberately don’t walk in love, people who engender disunity in the Church; divisive elements who mislead others.

People get messed up when they get involved with a messed up person. 1 Corinthians 15:33 says, “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.” If you’ve had, or have friends with whom you’re not experiencing any meaningful spiritual progress, or whose friendship hinders your effectiveness in the Gospel, it’s high time you gave up such friendships. Don’t negotiate; just end it, so your participation in the faith—your Christian life—would be effectual as it should be. Glory to God!

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you, for your Word is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. Through the Word, I’m trained and cultured in the godly life and ways of doing things. I’m filled with thoughts of righteousness, and walk in the path of righteousness, which you prearranged for me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY:

Romans 16:17-18 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. 18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

2 Timothy 3:2-5 AMPC For people will be lovers of self and [utterly] self-centered, lovers of money and aroused by an inordinate [greedy] desire for wealth, proud and arrogant and contemptuous boasters. They will be abusive (blasphemous, scoffing), disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy and profane. 3 [They will be] without natural [human] affection (callous and inhuman), relentless (admitting of no truce or appeasement); [they will be] slanderers (false accusers, troublemakers), intemperate and loose in morals and conduct, uncontrolled and fierce, haters of good. 4 [They will be] treacherous [betrayers], rash, [and] inflated with self-conceit. [They will be] lovers of sensual pleasures and vain amusements more than and rather than lovers of God. 5 For [although] they hold a form of piety (true religion), they deny and reject and are strangers to the power of it [their conduct belies the genuineness of their profession]. Avoid [all] such people [turn away from them].

#TALKINGSESSION

20TH MARCH.

KINDLY SAY THESE WORDS OUT LOUD

Dear Father, Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path! It is the compass by which I navigate through life, driving me in the path of righteousness, success, and prosperity. My heart will forever trust in Your Word to do what it says, for not only is Your Word my best teacher, it also pilots me to

the highest heights of success. Thank You for the ministry of Your Word in my life. Your Word is like a burning fire shut up in my bones. I cannot hold it back; I’ll promote and publish it everywhere with fervency until it engulfs my world. OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

DATE: WEDNESDAY 20TH MARCH 2019

THEME: WIVES, LEARN FROM LEAH.

MEMORISE:

A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men. Proverbs 18:16

READ: Genesis 30:14-18

14 And Reuben went in the days of wheat harvest, and found mandrakes in the field, and brought them unto his mother Leah. Then Rachel said to Leah, Give me, I pray thee, of thy son's mandrakes.

15 And she said unto her, Is it a small matter that thou hast taken my husband? and wouldest thou take away my son's mandrakes also? And Rachel said, Therefore he shall lie with thee to night for thy son's mandrakes.

16 And Jacob came out of the field in the evening, and Leah went out to meet him, and said, Thou must come in unto me; for surely I have hired thee with my son's mandrakes. And he lay with her that night.

17 And God hearkened unto Leah, and she conceived, and bare Jacob the fifth son.

18 And Leah said, God hath given me my hire, because I have given my maiden to my husband: and she called his name Issachar.

MESSAGE

The Almighty in His wisdom designed the world in such a way that every person has an area of comparative advantage in life. However, it takes wisdom for an individual to make the best legitimate use of his or her comparative advantage to prosper in this world. This is why the Bible says wisdom is the principal thing (Proverb 4:7), the Bible further says in Proverbs 14:1:

“Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.”

Leah, the first wife of Jacob, was someone who used what she had wisely in order to succeed in the hostile marriage she found herself in. we can therefore learn a lot from her. Whether by accident or the design of her father, Leah married an unwilling Jacob. However, the Lord in His sovereignty made her very fruitful in the area of child-bearing, and this made up for what she lacked in her husband’s eyes. Being a wise woman, she used this blessing of fruitfulness to her advantage in opposition to Rachel, her sister-turned-rival, who unlike her was attractive and her husband’s favorites. Without this, Rachel would have totally dominated Leah in Jacob’s home.

Leah managed to keep her matrimonial home through wisdom. Unfortunately, many Christian sisters foolishly throw away their marriages to home-breakers and other third parties because they fail to apply wisdom and self-control. Their coldness makes them so detached from their husbands that they end up becoming strangers to one another. Leah was wise and possessed the fruit of longsuffering, which she used to her advantage at every given opportunity to draw her husband closer to herself.

Moreover, take note of what Leah said in Genesis 30:15a:

“And she said unto her, Is it a small matter that thou hast taken my husband?”

In spite of Jacob’s animosity towards her, she believed she was Jacob’s lawful wife, and it paid off for her down the line. Even though her husband did not reciprocate her love, she focused on her home, and she successfully produced more than half of the twelve tribes of Israel, including the priesthood tribe of Levi and the royal tribe of Judah. Today, some Church leaders dissolve marriages with impunity, using social and psychological models to justify their claims against biblical injunctions. This should not be so. What is that challenge facing your marriage? Take it to the Lord today in prayer, asking Him for wisdom to handle it, and you will laugh last. You have the strength not only to cope but also to overcome! Go ahead and use it, and God will give you respite in your home.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, send your peace to all homes that are in disarray in Jesus’ Name.

*OUR DAILY MANNA DEVOTIONAL*

_A DEVOTIONAL BOOKLET FOR CHAMPIONS_

*DATE: WEDNESDAY 20TH MARCH, 2019*

*TOPIC: THE UNDERWEAR THESIS: NEVER
APOLOGIZE FOR BEING SUCCESSFUL!*

*BASIC SCRIPTURE: ACTS 21:8-20*

In one university in America, something very interesting happened. A student was preparing to present her thesis. As part of the preparation, she had to do what is called a trial run of her thesis or mock presentation before the actual presentation which she had to do before her professor.

During the trial run, her professor was concerned about the choice of her outfit of clothing for the presentation. The concerned professor reportedly told her that her cut off jeans shorts were too short, and that by that, she would be making a statement. The Prof had repeatedly said to her, Is that really what you want to wear? Following the Profs comment, one male student was also reported to have said that the student had a moral obligation to her audience to dress conservatively during her thesis presentation. Their comments got her infuriated, so she left the room of the trial angrily.

*She later returned to complete her draft thesis speech, but this time, she wore only a bra and underwear to protest what she called oppressive beliefs and discrimination.* During the formal thesis presentation a few days later, she arrived at the venue initially dressed the way she did during the trial run. She wore the same botton-down shirt and jeans shorts, but she undressed again and encouraged those in attendance at the presentation to do the same.

According to newspaper reports, 28 of the 44 persons in the room stripped in her support. The professor later apologised for the choice of words she used in correcting her own student over her choice of dress. CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT? The PROFESSOR APOLOGISED FOR BEING GOOD! The Holy Ghost is saying: There are too many PRETENDERS in the world! Never apologise this year for your HOLINESS or PURITY! Never apologise for being correct or for being years ahead of your colleagues or generation! Oh! Never apologise for ending TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS! Yes! Never apologise for saying NO to those who dont deserve your time! And never say SORRY for being successful or OUTSTANDING even in the midst of haters! See Acts 21:13 — Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? For I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus. Wow! NO APOLOGIES! Paul said he was ready to die for what he believed in! live like that this year!

*PRAYER POINTS:

* Take Song 1: Higher Ground…
1. In your own words, pray about todays word as led now.
2. LORD GOD, make me OUTSTANDING without APOLOGIES this year!
3. I refuse to apologise for being HOLY AND TRUE! I shall live for Christ this year and this week in Jesus name.
4. Lord God, SCATTER every gang up against my destiny this week, month, and year in Jesus name.
5. My HATERS will APOLOGISE BY FORCE! They will announce me LIKE HAMAN before they RUN MAD in Jesus name.

*Songs 1: Higher Ground*
1. Im pressing on the upward way,
New heights Im gaining everyday;
Still praying as I onward bound,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

*Chorus*
Lord, lift me up, and let me stand
By faith on Canaans tableland;
A higher plane than I have found,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

2. My heart has no desire to stay
Where doubts arise and fears dismay;
Though some may dwell where these abound,
My prayer, my aim, is higher ground.

3. I want to live above the world,
Though Satans darts at me are hurled;
For faith has caught the joyful sound,
The song of saints on higher ground.

Lord, lead me on to higher ground.

Seed of Destiny

Wednesday 20th March

TOPIC: UNDERSTANDING PRAYER

SCRIPTURE: But we will continue to devote ourselves steadfastly to prayer and the ministry of the Word. Acts 6:4 (AMP)

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: We rob ourselves of communion and relationship with God if we do not pray.

In our previous studies,"we saw that prayer is necessary for dedication to God. We also saw the products and profits of prayer. Now, it is very important to know what prayer is all about. This is because nothing can be outstanding without understanding.

It is one thing to know the importance or products of prayer, it is another thing to know what prayer is all about. The combination of the importance and understanding of prayer is key to fuelling our dedication to God.

Now, what is prayer?

Prayer is the servicing of our relationship with our heavenly Father through the communication of our value and worship for Him as well as our thoughts and desires to Him.

At the place of prayer, we communicate with our Heavenly Father; we express our value for Him to Him, we communicate our worship for Him to Him, and we also communicate our thoughts and desires to Him.

At the place of prayer, we let God know how much we value Him; and we also let Him know what is on our mind and what we desire Him to do for us. This is what prayer is all about.

This means, we deprive ourselves of allowing God to know our thoughts and desires if we do not pray; we rob ourselves of communion and relationship with God if we do not pray.

Beloved, it is important to know that relationships are serviced by communication and when we don’t pray, we deprive ourselves of our relationship with God. Therefore, make up your mind to pray always.
Remember this": We rob ourselves of communion and relationship with God if we do not pray.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Receive help from the Spirit to be prayerful.
2. Make up your mind to commune with God frequently.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING,"GET THIS MESSAGE": DEDICATION TO PRAYER AND THE WORD.

PRAYER: O LORD,"I ask that You pour upon my life the spirit of grace and supplication, LORD, in Jesus’ Name (Zechariah 12":10).
DAILY READING: Numbers 30:1 to 31:54,"Luke 4":1 to 30,"Psalm 63":1 to 11,"Proverbs 11":20 to 21.
QUOTE: Your spiritual health is confirmed by the buoyancy of your prayer life. Culled from PRINCIPLES AND POWER OF PRAYER by Dr Paul Enenche.

*THE LIVING WATER*

*DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE*

*Wednesday, March 20, 2019 - _International Day of Happiness_*

*TOPIC: WAIT FOR GOD’S PEACE*

*Read: Colossians 3:15-17*
*MEMORISE: _And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful_ (Colossians 3:15).*

*EXPOSITION*

Many believers look for a sense of peace, as a sign to help them determine. God’s will in their lives. However, a peaceful feeling may not be enough evidence to verify that a person’s decisions line up with the Lord’s plans. It is wise to ask ourselves, _Whose peace are we experiencing?_ Sometimes, our sense tranquility can be attributed to our own satisfaction about a choice we have made.

For you to have the peace of God, you must have peace WITH HIM. This talks about being born again and having the right relationship with Him (Rm. 5:1,2).

Today’s passage talks about letting *_the peace of Christ rule in your hearts_ (Col. 3:15).* This kind of peace originates from Jesus Christ and is the umpire that determines whether your decisions fit with God’s will. The word _peace_ indicates harmony and oneness. So to have God’s peace about a matter, means your decision must be aligned with His will. The only way to determines this is by comparing your thoughts and choices with His Word. Are you thinking the same way He does? Did you make your decision using scriptural principles or your own human understanding?
One of the reasons we often make choices without the guidance of Scripture is because, we want a quicker method in order to get answers. The Lord does not just pour His thoughts into our brains, without our cooperations. He moulds us gradually, day by day, as we read His Word and let its truths sink into our minds.

Building steadily over time is the only way to internalize a foundation of God’s truth. With His instructions as your basis, you can make decisions with confidence, when you are following His will. Then you will have a sense of oneness with the Lord, and His peace will guard your way.

*PRAYER POINTS*

*1.* Lord, give me the grace to premise my life’s foundation on Your truth.
*2.* Lord, endow me with the power to make the scripture my guidance in all my choices.
*3.* Father, let Your Word mould us day after day, in Jesus’ name.
*EXTRA READING FOR TODAY:* Deuteronomy 3:17 – 5:2; Mark 15:35 – 16:9
