RHAPSODY OF REALITIES 

SATURDAY, 23RD FEBRUARY.

WALK IN THE SPIRIT.

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh (Galatians 5:16).

Some people unwittingly allow every form of strife to take root in their hearts: bitterness, malice, anger, envy, hatred, and all forms of wickedness. But the Apostle Paul, in Ephesians 4:31-32, admonishes that we put away these things and walk in love: “Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”

But the question is, “How do you consistently walk in love in a world where there’s so much hate?” Our opening text gives us the answer: “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh” (Galatians 5:16). When you walk in the Spirit, you see and walk differently; your perspective is different, and walking in love is natural to you. Being born again, you have the capacity to love even the most difficult or seemingly unlovable people.

When you walk in the Spirit, the love of God emits from you profusely; you’re kind-hearted and compassionate; you live beyond yourself and transcend the human level of selfishness and your own desires. When you walk in the Spirit, you go beyond “This is what I want” or “This is how I like it”; you think differently, and esteem others better than yourself (Philippians 2:3).

When you walk in the Spirit, you see with His eyes and think godly and loving thoughts towards others. There wouldn’t be any iota of anger, selfishness, bitterness or resentment manifested in or through you; those things just don’t find a place in you. The words of Jesus in Matthew 5:43-44 become your lifestyle: “Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.”

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for the infilling of the Holy Spirit that I experience always. My thoughts, words and actions are motivated by your love, causing me to see and to relate with others with Christ’s love, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Dear heavenly Father, I thank You for opening doors of opportunity for me to be a blessing to my world today. By your Spirit, and through Your wisdom, I identify and carry out those things You’ve ordained me to do that’ll better my world, and bring glory to Your Name. My faith in You is the power to change my world, and frame the circumstances of life to 

 conform to Your destiny for my life! I am not a victim in this world, for I possess the power to determine the course of my life according to the Word of God. Thank You blessed Father, for giving me a purpose and destiny in You, which I live to fulfil today, and every day, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

MEMORISE:

1Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

MESSAGE 

The devil is a wicked, deceitful and cunning personality who always seeks to influence people for his evil purposes. When he craftily approached Adam and eve as a serpent in the Garden of Eden and presented his evil theory to them for consideration, little did they know that they were being targeted for death and destruction. The devil is sly, and his proposals must always be critically analyzed to fish out all contradictions with the word of God.

In John 8:44, the Lord Jesus Christ describes the devil as follows:

“………He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”

What a damning depiction! Satan is a liar who loves to give empty promises; believe him at your own peril. He is also a master of rebellion and a covenant breaker. Those who trust and depend on him are bound to be disappointed. He is unrepentantly evil and has been a murderer from the very beginning. He is determined to steal, kill and destroy anyone who deals with him in ignorance. Thos e who have dealt with him know that he is in the habit of promising to protect people’s children from death at night, only to demand for those same children for breakfast. In other words, what he gives you with the right hand he takes away with the left. Are you in any form of covenant with the devil, and you are afraid to break it? I bring you the word of the Lord in Isaiah 28:18, which says:

 “And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; ”

Yes, you can be free! God is willing to liberate you from the shackles of that covenant today.

Children of God must learn that the devil cannot be trusted under any circumstance. He is a very smart deceiver that has succeeded in misleading several individuals, including Adam and Eve, Judas Iscariot, Ananias and Sapphira, Ahab, Jezebel, Peter, and many more. As seen in Exodus 7:11-12, the devil even works counterfeit miracles and also has raise false prophets appointed to corrupt the message of the gospel and hoodwink people (2 Corinthians 11:14-15). He even deliberately misuses scriptures to sow doubt in the  minds of God’s people (Matthew 4:6). Stand your ground against him, and never fall for any of his antics.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, please don’t let me ever fall victim of the devil’s deception in Jesus’ Name.

*BASIC SCRIPTURE: JOHN 2:1-10*?

See John 2:7-10: “Jesus said to them ‘Fill the waterpots with water.’ And they filled them up to the brim. And He said to them; ‘Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.’ And they took it. When the master of the feast had tested the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom. And he said to him ‘Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior; but you have kept the good wine until now!” Now as I travel around the globe and hear from wounded soldiers of the cross, the “billion dollar” question that always comes to my mind is, “Why does God show up late? Why does He show up sometimes after you’ve done everything possible; you’ve laboured and laboured, you’ve fasted, you’ve prayed, you are holy and you’ve paid and are still paying your tithe, you have forgiven those that never said ‘SORRY,’ etc, and you’re tired and fed up? Why does He show up at the last minute?” *It is to make sure that NOBODY takes the glory for what He will do in you and for you!*

You must also know that whatever takes time to appear, appears well! When He shows up late, He always comes with the best! Samuel came late in the life of Hannah but he was the best. The healing of the woman with the issue of blood came late but it gave her a place of memorial in the Book of all books. The restoration of Ruth and Naomi came late but they but they got the best – Jesus came through them! You may be facing mockery, shame and even reproach NOW, but when your time comes which I know is now, you shall laugh the best laugh and those who will hear shall also laugh with you in your STORY TO GLORY MEGADRAMA script not written by man but by ANGELS. Wow! At the wedding feast, what was SHAME was turned to FAME! What was to be an EMBARRASSMENT became an ANNOUNCEMENT of GLORY! What was to be a RASH party became a PRAISE party! That is why you MUST NEVER quit trusting this God! Your life, career and ministry AGAINST ALL ODDS, will end up in laughter, celebration, jubilation, praises and glory! Shout this aloud now: “It is my turn to swim and soar in GLORY! This is my STORY TO GLORY YEAR! Though He shows up late, He shows up BIG! Thank you Jesus! TOPIC: THE ATMOSPHERE OF WORSHIP

SCRIPTURE: One day as these men were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Dedicate Barnabas and Saul for the special work to which I have called them." Acts 13:2-3 (NLT)

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When we pray,"we look for God but when we worship, God looks for us.
It is evident from the anchor Scripture that the Holy Spirit spoke to the apostles while they were worshipping God. Worship, therefore, provokes the Voice of God. The atmosphere of praise and worship is the atmosphere of God’s voice.
What then is the significance of the atmosphere of praise and worship?

a) The atmosphere of praise and worship is the atmosphere of God’s presence (Acts 13":1-3 NLT).
b) The atmosphere of praise and worship is the atmosphere of joy and merriment (Acts 2:47).
c) The atmosphere of praise and worship is the atmosphere of deliverance (Acts 16:25-29)
d) The atmosphere of praise and worship is the atmosphere of glory (2 Chronicles 7:1-3)
e) The atmosphere of praise and worship is the atmosphere of heaven on earth (Psalm 22:3).

The atmosphere of worship is the atmosphere of God’s presence. God is at home where praise is available. The atmosphere of celebration is the habitation of Jehovah. When we pray,"we look for God but when we worship, God looks for us.
Now, where God is present, two things happen":

1) God’s presence transmits healing power (Acts 10:38).
2) The presence of God is destructive of the works of the enemy (Psalm 114:1-8).
Beloved,"make up your mind to be habitually soaked in the deep worship of God. When you do this, the Presence of God would arrest every activity of the enemy around your life.
Remember this": When we pray,"we look for God but when we worship, God looks for us.

TOPIC: TRAINED FOR WAR
Read: Judges 3:1-4

MEMORISE: Blessed be the LORD my Rock, Who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle (Psalm 144:1).

EXPOSITION

This world is a battlefield where a quitter cannot win and winners never quit. Life is full of challenges along the way to fulfilment of one’s dream. Success in this life is not by chance. It is by choice through fighting your way through. That is why laziness, especially in warfare prayer, is not tolerated in the Kingdom of God (2 Cor. 12:7-10).

The proven truth that cannot be denied is that you have to trained for war spiritually, to occupy the space God has purposed for you in life. When David was all alone in the desert, keeping his father’s sheep, he faced some challenges of dangerous animals. 

To protect himself from the harmful animals, he got idea of locally made defensive weapons to fight with. Gradually, he developed courage to face those animals whenever they wanted to kill his father’s sheep, not knowing that God was training him for the greater battle ahead of him. When Saul and David’s three elder brothers were running away from Goliath, he came out with the courage he had developed in the desert to challenge to challenger (1 Sam. 17:32-47).

Eventually, David killed Goliath and was qualified to become the next king in Israel. The problem you solve in life determines your next level of promotion in the land of the living. He who runs away from problem cannot become a champion.
When David won the battle against Goliath, he then realised that the bitter experiences he faced in the desert were God’s way of training his hand for war and his hand for war and his fingers for battle (2 Sam. 22:35; Psa. 18:34; 144:1). When the Israelites reached the land of promise, God allowed them to face some real battles against their enemies, to train their little ones for they did not have prior experience of war (Jdg. 3:1-4).

There is no short cut to becoming a champion in life. You have to solve problems, fight battles in the spiritual realm, and win. Are you ready to face the challenges in your family, workplace, society, etc. to become the next champion? Do not be a quitter on the battlefield of fervent prayer.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Lord, help me to be winner, not a victim, in the battle of life.
2. Father, I ask for courage like David to face the challenges of life and win for Your own glory.
3. Lord, raise more people like David among our church leaders, who will stand against the kingdom of the devil without fear.
