FRIDAY, 22ND FEBRUARY.

ENDLESS PROSPERITY.

And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed (Genesis 12:2-3).

From the Bible, we see that even at old age, Abraham was very rich, because God blessed Him in all things. He was rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold (Genesis 13:2). The word translated, “cattle” is actually “livestock”; he had herds of cattle, sheep, goats, etc.

Then in Genesis 24:1, we yet read something beautiful about Abraham; it says, “And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things.” Abraham’s life progressed from glory to glory; no downtimes. This is God’s plan for your life; upward and forward only. He doesn’t want a situation where, somewhere along the course of your life, you’ll be regarded as one who used to be rich; He’s ordained your prosperity to be for eternity.

You’re God’s just and righteous one, and the Bible says, “…the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day” (Proverbs 4:18). That’s the story and progression of the life of the one in Christ.

Thus, just because you’re retired doesn’t mean you should go broke; the Bible says, “So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham” (Galatians 3:9). You’re blessed with faithful Abraham, and of the increase of your wealth and prosperity, there shall be no end! Blessed be God!

CONFESSION

I’m an heir of God and a joint-heir with Christ; the world belongs to me. I’m the seed of Abraham; therefore, I’m blessed with faithful Abraham; I’m blessed with the dew of heaven, with the fatness of the earth, and with plenty of corn and wine. My prosperity is endless.

Dear heavenly Father, I ascribe all glory, honour, and majesty to Your great and wonderful Name! Thank you for making me a peculiar treasure, separated unto You to bring You glory! I release myself to You and declare that by the power of Your Spirit, Your purpose for my life is fulfilled, to the glory and praise of Your Name.

I walk in dominion today because Your Spirit has mantled my heart and imparted divine courage to my spirit. Nothing in this world can stop or intimidate me from fulfilling my ministry of reconciliation committed to me by God. I manifest the glory of the Kingdom everywhere I go today, in Jesus Name.

*TOPIC: I CANNOT SPELL “IMPOSSIBLE” IN MY DNA!*?

*BASIC SCRIPTURE: MATTHEW 17:14-21*?

It was Lady Aberdeen who said, *“The difference between the IMPOSSIBLE and the DIFFICULT is that the IMPOSSIBLE takes a little LONGER time.”* That means, THERE IS NOTHING IMPOSSIBLE! It is only a matter of time! Then I am reminded of what the LORD Jesus Himself said in Verse 20 of today’s scripture: “…verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, ‘Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” Note the last 7 words of this scripture: *“and nothing shall be impossible unto you.”* Did you digest that? Nothing means nothing! NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE if you refuse to quit TRUSTING your God!

*DELAY does not mean denial and DELAY does not mean IMPOSSIBILITY!* The challenges and battles confronting you now, are setting you up for the greatest STORY TO GLORY testimony ahead! NEVER GIVE UP or quit from that dream! I remember Julius Caesar said: *“It is easier to find men who will volunteer to die, than to find those who are willing to endure pain with patience.”* Shocking! Then the great Alexandre Dumas penned: “All human wisdom is summed up in two words – wait and hope.” Yes! *WAIT and HOPE conquers SHAME and DISGRACE!* This ODM devotional is 21 years old! I started it in rough and painful terrain! I was rejected by many marketers at the beginning but today, it is a different story worldwide!

My experience has taught me that: Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet! No wonder the late Robert H. Schuller told the world: *“Never cut a tree down in the wintertime. Never make a negative decision in the low time. Never make your most important decisions when you are in your worst moods. Wait. Be patient. The storm will pass! The spring will come.”* The storm will pass and your season MUST come because NOTHING is IMPOSSIBLE with you and your God! Close with this: Your prayers and FASTING cannot be in vain! The word “IMPOSSIBLE” is only found in the dictionary of idiots! It is not in your family DNA as a child of God! I see great rejoicing ahead! *I SEE A NEW NAME on you! Hold on, hold out and look up! Pray now!

THEME: THE BLESSEDNESS OF BEING FORGIVEN


MEMORISE:

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile. Psalm 32:1-2

39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.

40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?

41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.

42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.

MESSAGE

If you never faced the punishment of death, bogged down with the weight of your sins, you might not fully understand how sweet it is to receive the forgiveness Christ gives. If you have never been condemned to die with no tomorrow to look forward to, you might not fully appreciate what it means to have the assurance of waking up in Paradise. How sweet and marvelous it is to have your sins washed away, never to be remembered again! How glorious it is to have a new beginning where the past is all forgotten! How great it is to have the hope of a glorious tomorrow after living today in shame! These all describe the experience of the thief in today’s Bible reading who received mercy and forgiveness from the Lord. He is an example of what true blessedness means. While hanging and dying on the cross, this robber suddenly realized that though he and his colleague in crime were justifiably condemned by the law, he could still be redeemed. While the other robber was busy mocking Jesus, he was busy pleading for mercy. At the end of all, he received the blessing described in today’s memory verse.

When you take a look at God’s dealings with mankind all through history, you will realize the true blessedness that lies in divine forgiveness, without which no man can escape the judgment of the Holy God. One man realized this truth and he said in Psalm 130:3-4:

“If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.”

King David is an example of someone who received pardon for sin from God, and this was the reason why he could appreciate what it is to receive forgiveness. Receiving forgiveness of sins is the foundation of all blessedness and a catalyst to being blessed as well. Jesus Christ demonstrated this in His response to the request to heal a man sick with palsy in Matthew 9:2. Although Jesus wanted to heal him, He knew that the barrier of sin must first be removed before the sick man could enjoy the benefit of divine healing, and so, when he saw the sick fellow, Jesus declared in Matthew 9:2c:

“And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.”
Beloved, true blessedness is founded on forgiveness we received for our sins; it is upon this foundation that all other blessing rest. For this reason, if you have not repented of your sin, I implore you to do so without further delay today. Are you weighed down with the burden of the evil acts you have perpetrated? The mercy of God is available for you today, only if you will ask for it like the thief on the cross did. Jesus will forgive you as He forgave him, following which He will also grant you access to the paradise of His blessings here on earth.

ACTION POINT:

Take the weight of sins upon you to the foot of Jesus’ cross, asking for His mercy and forgiveness.

TOPIC: THE CHANNELS OF PRESERVING POWER

SCRIPTURE: Behold,"I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy": and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10:19.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Wherever defeat is being experienced,"it is a result of power shortage.

It has been established that Power is key to victory in the battles of life. Power makes peace (safety) to be established by force. Note this": wherever defeat is being experienced,"it is a result of power shortage; it is either power is absent or in short supply. This means, the preservation of life and destiny against the wickedness of the enemy is a function of the power of God.
What then are the power channels that make preservation possible?

1. The Power of His Presence (Psalms 91":1)
The Presence of the Almighty carries the Security of the Almighty. A person who approaches Jehovah must experience the ministry of His security guards. On the other hand,"to be far away from God is to experience powerlessness and defeat in life.

2. The Power of the Blood of Jesus Christ (Revelations 12":11)
The Blood of Jesus communicates the great exchange: Jesus died young so we can live long. He put our sickness on His body so we can live in His health. So,"whenever you make demands on the Blood of Jesus, what you are telling the devil is, “Look, the Blood that was shed for my survival carries freedom, health and victory, etc. therefore you can’t hurt or afflict me.”

Beloved, I speak into your life today, by the power in the Blood of Jesus Christ, you shall not die before your time; you shall live to fulfil God’s purpose for your life; you shall become all that you are meant to be, in Jesus’ Name!

TOPIC: GROWING IN GOD’S WISDOM
Read: Luke 2:40-52

MEMORISE: And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men (Luke 2:52).

EXPOSITION

One of the characteristics of living organism is growth. When you are alive physically and spiritually, you are expected to grow in God's wisdom. If your growth in the wisdom of God stops, your ability to live a successful life in all ramifications stops along with it. Christ Jesus is our prototype in growing in the wisdom of God. He started to grow in wisdom since His very early childhood. Eventually, He became the embodiment of the wisdom of God that he has eternally been (1 Cor. 1:24,30). If Christ could grow in wisdom, you can do it with the help of the Holy Spirit.

In the biblical sense, wisdom is the ability to judge correctly and to follow the best course of actions, based on understanding and knowledge (Prov. 24:3). It is the ability to discern or judge what is true, right or lasting. It is the skill to live life from God’s perspective. It is the ability to interpret situations in God’s way. Godly wisdom has to do with knowing how to apply biblical truth to a particular situation in life. It is important to have the wisdom of God and grow in it, because it is a powerful tool to fulfil life’s purpose (Acts 7:10). It makes life easier to live and secures a bright future for he who has it (Eccl. 9:16,18; 24:13-14). It brings success and adds values to one’s life (Prov. 24:3; Eccl. 10:10). Above all, it is the power behind living the right life in relation to God and men. How can you grow in wisdom?
1. Grow in Spirit. The Spirit interprets spiritual things to spiritual people (1 Cor. 2:11-16).

2. Grow in applied knowledge. When you put time and energy to study the bible, attend seminars and conferences, and make yourself a life-long learner, you will grow in wisdom (2 Tim. 3:14-17).
3. By obeying God; keeping His commands (Prov. 8:32).

4. Practice genuine humility (Prov. 11:2; 1 Pet. 5:5-6; Col. 2:18).
Humble yourself under His discipline and correction (Prov. 29:15; Heb. 12:11).

PRAYER POINTS

1. Lord, grant me wisdom for living and winning in life.
2. Father, I ask for sufficient grace in wisdom everyday of my life, in Jesus’ name.
3. Pray for our students in higher institutions of learning that God would give them wisdom to stand out in flying colours.
