A female final year student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo State, was paraded alongside eleven other suspects arrested by the police in the state for various offences ranging from murder to armed robbery, fraud and rape.
In the same vein, a 38-year-old bricklayer, Daniel Segun who, together with his gang members, invaded students' hostel at LAUTECH and dispossessed them of their valuables, has been arrested.
The gangsters, three of whom are at large, stormed the hostel at about 9:00pm on October 13 and had already robbed the students before a distress call was received by men of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squard (FSARS) Unit in Ogbomoso.
The detectives, it was gathered, swiftly raced to the scene and still met the men of the underworld in operation.
The aftermath of the police presence at the scene was a daring challenge by the hoodlums, who engaged operatives in a fierce gun duel, but could not withstand the opponents' superior fire power and had to take to their heels.
While three of the gang members managed to escape arrests, Daniel Segun was not as lucky as others; he was apprehended at the scene with two locally fabricated double barrel guns, one single barrel gun, seven cartridges and their loots comprising ten mobile handsets, seven laptops and two wrist watches.
