How Ronaldo reacted to question on Ballon d’ Or 2019
[Image: ronaldo.jpg]

Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, on Sunday night said he will not speak on the 2019 Ballon d’ Or, after his side defeated Netherlands 1-0 in the UEFA Nations League final.
The 34-year-old is widely expected to compete with Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi for this year’s Europe top individual award.

Daily Star reports that in a footage, the Juventus superstar was asked by one reporter during his post-match press conference to give his view on who will win the 2019 Ballon d’ Or.
But the former Real Madrid star quickly walked away, saying: “No, I will not speak about the Ballon d’Or.”
However, Ronaldo’s comment has since generated a lot of comments on social media.

“He doesn’t want to talk about it because he won’t win it,” one supporter said.
Another fan commented: “Not the favourite to win it this year.”
While a third added: “Three words: Virgil van Dijk.”

DAILY POST had reported that Cristiano Ronaldo led Portugal to defeat Netherlands 1-0 in Sunday’s final to claim the trophy.
Goncalo Guedes scored the only goal of the game in the 60th minute after the first half ended goalless.

Fans have mocked Cristiano Ronaldo after they claimed he looked unhappy when his Portugal team-mate Bernardo Silva was named the Nations League Player of the Tournament.
The award was presented after Fernando Santos' side defeated Holland in the Nations League final on Sunday.

Silva's team-mates congratulated the Manchester City star but Ronaldo looked quite distant towards Silva.

People on social media thought Ronaldo looked a bit sad when it was announced that it was not the Juventus star.
One person said: 'Look how happy 'the leader' was when Bernardo got announced as the Player of the Tournament.'

Another added with two laughing emojis: 'Tears in his eyes.'
Someone else said: 'He doesn't even hide it anymore lol.'
Another person said: 'Me me me all about me.'

Ronaldo scored a hat-trick against Swizterland in the previous round to reach the final.

But it was Goncalo Guedes who scored the decisive winner against Ronald Koeman's men to lift the trophy.

City star Silva, set up two of Ronaldo's goals in the semi-final and also assisted Guedes for his strike in the final.

Torino has confirmed the signing of Nigeria full back, Ola Aina from Chelsea.

President of the Italian Serie A side, Urbano Cairo announced that they have a deal in place for the versatile defender.

Cairo confirmed that Torino have taken advantage of a purchase option to sign the Super Eagles star on a permanent deal.

He told Football Italia, ”We’ve redeemed Aina for €10m, as well as Cristian Ansaldi, and Koffi Djidji. Now Torino own all their players.”

At the moment, Aina becomes the most expensive Nigerian fullback in history.

He broke the record previously held by Celestine Babayaro, who was bought by Chelsea for £2.25 million in 1997.

Aina spent last season on loan with Torino, playing 30 games as they finished seventh on the table.

He is currently in the camp of the Super Eagles getting set for 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt.
