Former Manchester United player Paul Scholes believes Manchester United have sunk so low that even Lionel Messi would struggle to shine for his old club at the moment.

Scholes claimed that United are turning into the new Liverpool while their old rivals and Manchester City laugh at them. And that Alexis Sanchez is too selfish to be a United player but can’t be sold because of the wages he was offered to turn down City.

He added

Mourinho’s side will struggle to win the Premier League title with Romelu Lukaku leading the attack.
Paul Pogba’s cockiness means he will switch off after showing everyone how good he is.

He’s ‘scared’ that United will lose their best players like Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford because of the way they have been treated by the manager.

The old Mourinho has gone and been replaced by a man who moans too much and cannot get the best out of his players.

Real reasons Mourinho was annoyed with Pogba revealed
October 19, 2018  SPORT

                      [Image: y8mgCHco5XpnLuyq2j5COI0HCqRZ7HX3TOBGOODc...541My=s0-d]
It has emerged why Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho was annoyed with midfielder, Paul Pogba ahead of his side’s Premier League clash with Chelsea on Saturday afternoon at the Stamford Bridge.

Mourinho’s men head to the game following a 3-2 victory over Newcastle in their last Premier League encounter, while Chelsea defeated Southampton 3-0.

According to Evening Standard, Mourinho was annoyed with Pogba because he has tried everything possible to get the best out of the France international but it’s not working.

The report added that the Portuguese gaffer was also frustrated after Pogba failed to perform well at Old Trafford.
Pogba since joining United in 2016 for £89million from Juventus has failed to impress for the Red Devils.
The midfielder was stripped of his vice-captaincy few weeks ago by Mourinho.

The 25-year-old was linked with a move away from United last summer to join Barcelona.

Ex-Chelsea winger Pat Nevin Says Man Utd Will Win Chelsea At Stamford Bridge On Saturday
October 19, 2018  SPORT

                       [Image: skysports-higginbotham-united_4456626.jp...1018133304]
Ex-Chelsea winger Pat Nevin believes Jose Mourinho will use the physicality within his Manchester United squad to try and win at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Defeat for United at the weekend would extend the gap to the top to 10 points and would seriously derail their chances of lifting the Premier League title this season.

"I think United will almost certainly use their power and physique, possibly more than any other time under the leadership of the current manager," Nevin wrote in his column for the Chelsea website.

"That is not to deride this tactic, in their position I would be sorely tempted to do exactly the same thing.

"Looking at Chelsea so far this season and the style imposed by Maurizio Sarri, does it really seem like a sensible plan to try to out-pass the Blues? Obviously not, so expect the big physical guns to be deployed against us, especially from set-pieces.

"There are many other dangers in that United side but I think this is the obvious area to attack us and something we will have to find an answer to.

"That used to mean asking our goalkeeper to come out and dominate the 18-yard area for all crosses but this isn't always possible if the quality is good enough with the delivery."

Sarri Ready To Shop In AC Milan For Alvaro Morata Replacement
October 19, 2018  SPORT

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is ready to shop in Milan for a new striker in January.

The Sun says Chelsea want Inter's Mauro Icardi or AC Milan's Patrick Cutrone to replace Alvaro Morata.

Icardi tops their shopping list — but Chelsea have been quoted an eye-watering £90million fee.

Morata has struggled to adjust to English football ever since his £65m move to Stamford Bridge in 2017.

If a deal for Icardi — who has five goals in eight games this season — cannot be reached, Maurizio Sarri is ready to battle Tottenham for highly-rated Milan forward Cutrone.

Chelsea have been desperate to give Morata the time to prove he can be the 20-a-season goalscorer they need - but have now conceded that is unlikely to happen.

"We Are Worried About Lionel Messi's Injury" - Barcelona President Bartomeu

Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartemeu has admitted the club is worried about Lionel Messi's injury suffered last week.

Messi injured his arm in the 4-2 win over Sevilla on Saturday night.

The Argentine had already scored four goals at the Camp Nou this came and had to be substituted in the 27th minute.

Messi is said to have fractured his arm and will now miss three weeks of football.

And Bartemeu has admitted he is worried for the forward.

"We are worried. He is the most important player in world football,” Bartomeu said.

“You will miss very important matches, but the positive message is that the team always responded and they became more responsible when Messi was not there.

“(Manager Ernesto) Valverde has perfectdressing room management and will take advantage of everything.

“I spoke with Messi and I hope he comes back soon.”

Messi is now set to miss a host of key matches for Barcelona in the coming weeks.

The Catalan club face Inter Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday night before the first El-Clasico of the season this weekend.

Braca then face Leonesa in the Copa Del Rey, a trip to Rayo Vallecano, a visit to Inter and a home tie with Real Betis before the mid-November international break.

Chelsea 2- 2 Man united

Ross Barkley's late goal maintained Chelsea's unbeaten Premier League start and sparked a melee on the touchline
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was involved in a furious touchline bust-up after Ross Barkley's 96th-minute equaliser rescued Chelsea's unbeaten Premier League start at Stamford Bridge.
Mourinho's side looked on course for an outstanding win over his former club after two goals from Anthony Martial overturned the first-half lead given to the hosts by Antonio Rudiger's 21st-minute header.
He bowed his head in disappointment as Barkley scored in the dying seconds after a goalmouth scramble, but then reacted angrily as Chelsea technical assistant Marco Ianni celebrated in front of him before then pumping his fists in Mourinho's direction again.

The Portuguese jumped from his seat and was then held back by a mixture of stewards and Manchester United staff as he attempted to get down the tunnel at Ianni.
It was a dramatic conclusion as Mourinho saw victory snatched away after he had replied to the taunts of Chelsea fans by holding up three fingers to remind them of the three Premier League titles he won while in charge at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues looked in control when Rudiger took advantage of Paul Pogba's poor marking to head home Willian's corner, but United responded superbly after the break and Martial's double - a smart, swivelling finish and a composed, low effort - put the visitors on the brink of three points until that frantic finale.
Mourinho's emotions boil over
Mourinho kept his emotions in check for most of the afternoon as returned again to the club where enjoyed success still under pressure at Manchester United - but then it all boiled over in that super-charged finish.
He allowed himself a celebratory fist-pump when Martial drove in United's second goal. It was low-key and would have gone pretty much unnoticed had it not been caught on the television cameras.
It was then, as the clock ticked down, that Mourinho's body language became animated and his emotions bubbled to the surface, concluding in that chaotic confrontation by the tunnel entrance as he felt Chelsea technical staff member Ianni overdid the celebrations of Barkley's late leveller.
The manager's temperature was rising even before then as United protected the lead that could have given them a crucial win, with the added delight for Mourinho of achieving it at Stamford Bridge, where he won those three titles. No matter how calm he tried to remain, you could see how much this meant to him.
When goalscorer Martial chased back towards the halfway line to close down a Chelsea player, Mourinho was jumping out of his seat in the technical area - first to urge the France forward on to greater efforts to win the ball, then with an extravagant fist-pump, applause and even an advance onto the pitch to slap him on the back for completing his task.
Mourinho's understandable anguish as Barkley celebrated his equaliser was not helped by what he clearly saw as gloating from the Chelsea backroom member, and he was only persuaded to let the matter rest after being calmed down by stewards and his staff.
The Portuguese decided to have the last word with that three-fingered gesture towards Chelsea fans - but victory would have been a much sweeter response.
Sarri assistant very impolite, but I accept apology - Mourinho
Martial delivers for Mourinho
Martial has often cut a discontended figure at Manchester United this season - and his relationship with Mourinho has been the subject of much debate.
The 22-year-old France forward has been marginalised on occasions this season, but has now proved his worth and quality in successive games.
Martial's snapshot finish played its part in the comeback from two goals down to beat Newcastle United before the international break, and on Saturday at Stamford Bridge he was the spearhead for United's revival after Chelsea controlled the first half.
He equalised with a finish of superb technique on the turn, then coolly completed good work by Juan Mata and Marcus Rashford by steering a low shot into the bottom corner.
Martial was also willing to do the dirty work and was rewarded with a warm embrace and words from his manager that brought a smile to his face when he was substituted.
United's hierarchy clearly see Martial as a key element of their future and hope he will commit to a long-term contract. Mourinho will certainly be grateful for his contribution in the past two games.
Chelsea show fighting spirit
Chelsea's wild celebrations after Barkley scrambled home their equaliser demonstrated the importance of keeping their unbeaten league start going against one of their close rivals.
Maurizio Sarri's side had been the victim of Daniel Sturridge's late equaliser when Liverpool took a point here - but were grateful for something similar of their own this time, with Barkley on hand to smash home after David Luiz's header hit a post and David de Gea saved brilliantly from Rudiger.
Chelsea boss Sarri will surely be concerned about how his side lost the control they enjoyed in the first half, when they were untroubled by United, but he must be delighted they were still battling and pushing so deep into six minutes of stoppage time to rescue what could be an important point.
The Blues have shown they are willing to scrap as well as turn on the style - and it was enough to ensure they are yet to suffer a league loss this season.
Man of the match - Anthony Martial (Manchester United)
Anthony Martial scored for the second game in succession on his fifth consecutive start for Manchester United
'We were in the wrong' - what they said
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri to BBC Sport: "We have played very well in the first hour but then we have played the match of United - a physical match, and United are better than us in a physical match. I am disappointed with the last 30 minutes. We could win but at the end one point is enough.
"We were not organised for the long ball, we usually play with short passes so we were not organised for this in the last half hour. This is not our football. I prefer to play our football for 90 minutes.
"I didn't see what happened but I have spoken to Jose Mourinho. I understood that we were on the wrong side of the situation. I have spoken to a member of my staff and have dealt with this immediately."
Chelsea were wrong in Mourinho touchline incident - Sarri
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho to BBC Sport: "A fantastic match, a very undeserved result for us but that is football. We were the best team, even in the first half when we were losing.
"We were in control, tactically - the result is really unfair for us. We conceded from two set-pieces, but that is a way to score goals and you have to be able to defend against that.
"Anthony Martial is improving, he is doing different things than before. He is a more complete player than before - but he needs to improve. He has a huge talent and he wants it, which is a good thing. The team as a team was really good."
Tell us about your reaction at the end...
"It is not my reaction, it is Sarri's assistant. He was very impolite but Sarri took care of the situation. They have both apologised to me. I accept. For me, the story is over.
"Don't do what everyone does and say: 'It's Mourinho who does things.' I don't know his name, I don't need to know. Everything is fine."

Jose Mourinho says Romelu Lukaku Is Lacking Confidence
October 24, 2018 SPORT

                           [Image: skysports-romelu-lukaku-manchester-unite...1003110005]
Jose Mourinho admits Romelu Lukaku is lacking confidence but believes goals will soon arrive for the Manchester United striker.

Lukaku has gone eight club games without scoring a goal, though he did net twice on international duty with Belgium earlier this month.

He endured a difficult night on Tuesday as United fell 1-0 at home to Juventus in the Champions League, and while Mourinho was hesitant to criticise the 25-year-old, he conceded the forward is suffering from a dip in form.

Mourinho said: "No criticism at all, a complete understanding the player is a fantastic pro that wants to give everything.

"But I have to agree his moment is not sweet, not just with the goals he is not scoring but in his confidence, movement, touch, he is not linking the game well with the team - but he's our striker and he's a good striker and a striker we believe in.
"Could I play Rashford there? But then I don't have a winger because in this moment we are in this difficult situation.
"He (Lukaku) is a hard-working guy, is a good professional, but one day the goal will arrive and the confidence will be back."
United welcome Lukaku's former club Everton to Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday, live on Sky Sports Premier League

Morata speaks on his new role at Chelsea
October 26, 2018  SPORT

                          [Image: 724jHpO1L3j8w7cjsCgIF6Md9IHjeBWCyOnDAO2C...S5jOK=s0-d]
Chelsea striker, Alvaro Morata has spoken on his new role in manager Maurizio Sarri’s formation.

Sarri had demanded that the Spain international play more with the midfielders and attack the box.

The 26-year-old netted Chelsea’s goal in their 1-0 victory against Vidi in the Europa League encounter last two weeks.

Speaking to Chelsea’s official matchday programme, Morata said: “I need to come and get on the ball, connect with the midfielders and the wingers, and then I need to attack the box after that – but not to be in the box all the time.
“When you come to take the ball deeper, it’s different – it means you attack the box and that makes it difficult for the other team because you arrive running.
“I’m in a good way now.”

Morata added. “I want to score more goals, to play more games, but at the end of the day the most important thing is the team wins, the other things come with that.
“Right now, we are near the top of the Premier League and we are in a good position in the Europa League, so we need to continue in the current way because, with a little bit of luck, I think we can fight for all the trophies this year.”
Morata will hope to lead Chelsea to victory when they take on Burnley on Sunday in the Premier League fixture.

Martial rejects new Manchester United contract
October 26, 2018  SPORT

                            [Image: mdDrbYRUez1vHGJHGeO4moRjhAWns9IWZnR8rIKS...Q3Q1Y=s0-d]
Manchester United striker, Anthony Martial, has reportedly rejected a new contract to stay at the club, according to Sky Sports.

Martial has been in and out of the side so far this season, but the Red Devils are keen to tie him down.

The 22-year-old has however turned down fresh terms, but the club remains hopeful a deal can be reached.

Martial was expected to sign a new five-year contract, but the two parties are seemingly some way off agreeing terms.
There has been much speculation over the future of the 22-year-old, with rumours of unrest after falling behind Alexis Sanchez in the pecking order last season.
His relationship with manager Jose Mourinho has also been fractious.

Jose Mourinho blames injuries for Alexis Sanchez's struggles for Man Utd this season
October 26, 2018  SPORT

                            [Image: skysports-alexis-sanchez-manchester-unit...1020100022]
Jose Mourinho believes Alexis Sanchez's struggles this season for Manchester United are down to injuries.

The Chilean star has managed just one goal and two assists in seven Premier League appearances so far and missed United's 1-0 defeat to Juventus in the Champions League through injury.

Sanchez will also miss the visit of Everton to Old Trafford on Sunday, live on Sky Sports, and Mourinho says he needs a consistent run of games in order to rediscover the form which made him one of the Premier League's most feared attackers while he was at Arsenal.

"In this moment, he is struggling because he is injured and because he came to the Chelsea match to try to help the team but his physical condition was not good," Mourinho said.

"Then he had to stop and he was not available for Juventus. I believe he is not available tomorrow again.
"So now the point is to be physically in the best condition.
"He arrived in January last season - I don't think that is ever an easy situation for a player.
"But this season he had a good start. He had a good preseason and he started well against Leicester. Then he was injured. Then he came back and then he was injured again.
"So he is struggling with his condition and I think he is the kind of player that needs to really sharp to play his best game."

Barcelona 5-1 Real Madrid: Julen Lopetegui hits rock bottom in Clasico

Sharethis page

Julen Lopetegui was a surprise choice to succeed Zinedine Zidane in June
One YouTube comment sums it up perfectly: "I've come from the future Julen. Things don't work out well for you."
The message lies beneath a 16 May interview on popular Spanish chat show La Resistencia, in which Julen Lopetegui is feted for his impressive work in charge of a Spain team that, back then, was about to light up the World Cup.
Today he is the Real Madrid boss, but most likely for not much longer. After Sunday's humiliating 5-1 defeat by Barcelona,Lopetegui appears set to be sacked for the second time in four months.

This is the story of a startling fall from grace that began in bizarre circumstances, and hit rock bottom in Barcelona.
Nobody would have predicted the series of events that unfolded following that comfy sofa sit-down back on the brink of summer.
For starters nobody thought Zinedine Zidane would resign and leave Madrid needing a new manager, then nobody thought Lopetegui would end up replacing him, and then nobody thought his decision to do so would cost the national team their coach.
Just two days before the World Cup began, Lopetegui was fired by the Spanish Football Federation president Luis Rubiales, who claimed to be acting on a point of principle. He said Lopetegui had gone behind his employers' back in accepting the job at Madrid without informing him, although the club disputed this, and would not have his authority diluted.
Regardless of your opinion on Madrid's, Lopetegui's and Rubiales' handling of the situation, the decision came as a shock. Suddenly, Lopetegui would not be overseeing the culmination of two years' work on football's greatest stage.
Instead he would be taking charge of what many consider to be the biggest club in the world, having only failed outside the international game, at Rayo Vallecano in 2003, and at FC Porto from 2014 to 2016. Oh, and Cristiano Ronaldo, for so many seasons Madrid's talisman, would be sold to Juventus.
Despite all this, things did not start too badly for Lopetegui. When results went well, including a 3-0 win at home to Roma as the Champions League returned in September, his team's new style and the decision not to replace Ronaldo with a big name was hailed as emphasising and getting more out of the collective.
But there can be no arguments, results have not gone well since and it is now five matches without victory. Madrid have not started a season this badly since 2001.
The run began with a 3-0 defeat at Sevilla, continued with a 0-0 home draw with city rivals Atletico Madrid, a 1-0 defeat away by Alaves, a 2-1 loss at home to Levante, and now this crushing blow at the hands of their most bitter rivals.
That the result of El Clasico defines managers' times in charge of Madrid is not necessarily true - Jose Mourinho survived a 5-0 home defeat in the first of his three seasons, for example.

But Rafael Benitez's fate was considered all but sealed after a 4-0 thrashing in November 2015 - he was sacked two months later - while Bernd Schuster was fired two days after saying it would be "impossible" to beat Pep Guardiola's Barca of autumn 2008.
No doubt Lopetegui can take some solace from the reported 18m euros (£15.9m) he will be owed if his contract is terminated. This startling figure is said to have been included because Madrid president Florentino Perez's hand was forced after several of his preferred targets turned him down.
It is a position of comfort if not strength that might help explain his combative appearance before the media in Saturday's pre-match news conference. On Sunday at the Nou Camp he was repeating the same message.
"I feel sad but I want to remain in charge," he said.
"It's a big blow but I'm strong enough to know everything can be turned around. I have a lot of faith in this group of players."
You have to admire his optimism, speaking minutes after watching his team crumble in the one match that matters most.
But whereas on Saturday there was power, a defiance behind similar words, 24 hours on it was difficult to frame his image in anything other than more desperate terms.
It is his face around which the result of this Clasico match now crystallises - the Clasico that had to make do without Lionel Messi and Ronaldo, and managed it pretty well.
There is a key difference of course in their respective absences. Messi will return to Barca after he recovers from a broken arm, Ronaldo will not return to Madrid.
Reports before this weekend named former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte and Manchester United's Mourinho as Los Merengues' preferred options to lead them forward from this awkward position.
And speculation after Sunday's match focused in on Italian Conte, with several media outlets stating Madrid would make the decision everyone expects them to on Monday and fire Lopetegui, a man who four months ago could do no wrong.

Kylian Mbappe was on the pitch for four and a half minutes before scoring
Kylian Mbappe scored as Paris St-Germain beat arch-rivals Marseille and equalled Tottenham's record of 11 wins at the start of a league season.
Mbappe showed lightning pace to run onto an Angel di Maria pass, get away from Boubacar Kamara and slot home.
Julian Draxler scored an injury-time second from Neymar's off-target shot.

Neymar had objects thrown at him from the home fans on several occasions as he tried to take corners earlier in the second half.
PSG have matched Spurs' record from 1960-61 of 11 wins at the start of a season in one of Europe's top five leagues.
Mbappe, a second-half substitute for Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, is the top scorer in the top five leagues this season with 10 goals. The 19-year-old has scored 12 goals in 10 games this season including the Champions League.
Defending champions PSG are already eight points clear of second-placed Lille.
