Scores of Twitter users align with Ava DuVernay as she boycotts the Super Bowl due to the NFL's treatment of Colin Kaepernick
Just before the Super Bowl last night, Ava DuVernay announced that she will not be watching or supporting and gave reasons.
She tweeted:
I will not be a spectator, viewer or supporter of the #SuperBowl today in protest of the @NFL’s racist treatment of @Kaepernick7 and its ongoing disregard for the health + well-being of all its players. To watch the game is to compromise my beliefs. It’s not worth it. #ImWithKap
To this, Colin replied:
Love you sister.
Scores of other Twitter users also aligned with Ava and declared they won't be watching. This includes Zendaya Coleman, Janelle Monae and more.
