Senate President Bukola Saraki on Sunday night attended a dinner organized for newly-elected and returning governors .
The event, which was held at Congress Hall, Transcorp Hilton, Abuja. was organised by the secretariat of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF).
The dinner is part of the induction programme organised for the newly elected governors.
Governorship elections were held in 29 states.
There were no governorship elections in Edo, Ondo, Ekiti, Bayelsa, Kogi, Anambra and Osun because the tenures of their governors are yet to expire.
Sunday’s event was also used as a send forth for the outgoing governors.
Aside Saraki, who was a former governor of Kwara State, serving and former governors also attended the dinner.
Former governors that attended included Lucky Igbinedion of Edo State, Ibrahim Shema of Katsina and Adamu Muazu of Bauch State.
Sunday’s dinner is a prelude to the induction programme which starts on Monday.
The programme will formerly start with an opening remark by the Chairman of the NGF, Abdulaziz Yari, at 10:00 a.m.
The objectives of the event include exposing governors to relevant contemporary national priorities in critical sectors of the economy and driving consensus on opportunities to achieve desired outcomes.
