The Chief Press Secretary to the speaker, Musibau Razak on Tuesday denied the claim. He said there was no iota of truth in the speculation trending on social media that the Speaker was acting on instructions to initiate impeachment proceedings against Governor Ambode. Razak emphasised that the relationship between the Governor and Speaker is “smooth and solid”. “The news of impeachment is political. A lot of information is being circulated here and there but there is no iota of truth in the report. “Claims to initiate impeachment proceedings against Governor Ambode are false as the relationship between the Governor and Speaker is smooth and solid,” Razak told Daily Trust.
