Ekiti Election Worst Political Robbery In Nigeria — Wike - Edoman - 07-16-2018 GOVERNOR Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, yesterday described the just concluded Ekiti State governorship election as the “worst political robbery” in Nigeria’s democratic history. Wike, during a thanksgiving service in Port Harcourt to draw the curtains on the third year anniversary celebration of his administration, boasted that the All Progressives Congress, APC, would have no room to re-enact the perceived Ekiti political robbery in Rivers State. He said: “Don’t be worried about what happened in Ekiti State. We are prepared. It will not happen here in Rivers State. I have never experienced that kind of robbery in politics. “I told my colleagues, don’t give them any chance. Most of them in APC are hoping they will repeat the same in Rivers State. We are waiting. Let your spirit not be down, work hard and victory will be ours.” On the value of the two months long 3rd anniversary celebration, Wike said: “We made sure people who have eyes see what we have done for the state, except those who are blind, for which there is nothing we can do about it. “We will continue to do the best for the people of Rivers State. The people deserve the best. In the remaining one year, we will not stop doing projects, irrespective of the elections.” Governor Wike urged the people to continue to support his administration. Archbishop, Province of Niger Delta, Most Rev. Ignatius Kattey, who presided at the thanksgiving, lauded Wike for his outstanding developmental strides, saying the governor has graduated from “Mr Projects to Doctor Projects.” Co-Adjutor Bishop of Anglican Diocese of Niger Delta North, Rt Rev Wisdom Ihunwo, prayed for God’s continued blessing on Wike’s administration, noting that the government’s source of strength is from above. http://kikiotolu.com/ekiti-election-worst-political-robbery-in-nigeria-wike RE: Ekiti Election Worst Political Robbery In Nigeria — Wike - Edoman - 07-16-2018 Quote:LEADERSHIP - Coalition of observer groups and Civil Society Organisations that observed and monitored the Saturday July 14th Governorship elections in Ekiti State have condemned the announcement of the All Progressives Congress APC candidate John Kayode Fayemi as the winner of the elections . https://leadership.ng/2018/07/15/ekiti-guber-coalition-of-observers-reject-results-to-release-findings-wednesday/ Ekiti Election: Coalition Of Observers Reject Results, To Release Findings RE: Ekiti Election Worst Political Robbery In Nigeria — Wike - Edoman - 07-16-2018 Rigging of Ekiti Elections : Coalition of Civil Society organisations staged a protest at the Embassy of the United States of America in Abuja over alleged rigging of Ekiti state election by APC Source: http://9jaggist.blogspot.com/2018/07/rigging-in-ekiticoalition-of-civil.html Ekiti Election: Coalition Of Civil Society Protests At US Embassy In Abuja (Pics RE: Ekiti Election Worst Political Robbery In Nigeria — Wike - Edoman - 07-16-2018 Quote:Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, has told President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) that he will have the last laugh over the Ekiti State gubernatorial election which the People's Democratic Party (PDP) lost on Saturday, July 14, 2018. https://amp.pulse.ng/news/politics/ekiti-election-i-will-laugh-last-fayose-tells-buhari-apc-id8623078.html "I Will Laugh Last", Fayose Tells Buhari, APC RE: Ekiti Election Worst Political Robbery In Nigeria — Wike - Edoman - 07-17-2018 THIS OFFICIAL INEC EKITI RESULT SHOWS INEC STILL HAS 60,000 PDP VOTES NOT ACCOUNTED FOR… PLS DO THIS MATHS… http://hotel.africa https://hotels.ng http://fly.africa Euphemia Udanoh wrote: See what happens when you rig in a hurry! 197,459 + 178,114 = 375,573 but INEC published that 316,019 was the total vote casted! The Ekiti State House of Assembly at Plenary today condemned and rejected in entirety the open robbery and the purported result of the July 14th Governorship Election in Ekiti State that gave Victory to the APC Candidate, Dr Kayode Fayemi instead of the actual winner, Prof Kolapo Olusola Eleka of PDP. The House described the Election as robbing Peter to pay Paul and insists that the open robbery and embarrassment to Democracy cannot stand. The House at Plenary today reviewed the Electoral process as follows; 1. Whereas the Election was heavily militarized with palpable fear on the face of voters and absolute terrorism across the nooks and crannies of Ekiti State. 2. Whereas the Security Agencies have been compromised and did the unwholesome bidding of the APC who were glaringly assisted to rig the Election. 3. Whereas huge sums of Money were brought into polling units to purchase votes in the presence of Security Agencies in total disregard to the electoral laws. 4. Whereas Ballot boxes were snatched by the APC thugs and severe violence meted against PDP members and supporters who were molested and chased out of their polling units. 5. Whereas the medium of communication with the people herein the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State was violently shut down in total disregard and disrespect to freedom of information as guaranteed in chapter 4 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic as Amended. 6. Whereas the seat of the Symbol of Democracy in Ekiti State, the Government House has been totally taken over by Security Agencies with obvious threat to the life of the Governor and other law abiding citizens of Ekiti State. Therefore as Elected Members of Our various constituencies, the Ekiti State House of Assembly after multiple deliberations and reviews of the stated facts herein resolved as follows: 1. That the House Rejects in its entirety the result of the July 14th Governorship election due to several malpractises and open rigging by apparatuses of the APC led Federal Government. 2. That we condemn the conduct of the July 14 governorship election, especially the use of thugs backed by security men to intimidate and harass intending voters, thereby preventing many of them from exercising their franchise. 3. That we condemn the role of security agencies before, during and after the election, especially the assault on the State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose and the invasion of the government house as well as indiscriminate arrest of perceived PDP supporters, including party agents. Presently, more than 50 PDP supporters are still being detained by the police. 4. That in particular, we view the siege on the State government house and the withdrawal of Security aides of the Governor as a direct threat to federalism in the country, and we demand that the Governor’s security personnel be restored with immediate effect. 5. That we condemned the violent closure of the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State thus denying the people their rights to freedom of information as guaranteed in Chapter 4 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. 6. That we fear that with the way and manner the Ekiti governorship election was conducted, the hope for credible elections in 2019 appears a mirage. 7. That we call on all well meaning Nigerians, including lovers of democracy in the entire world to save the country from being destroyed by those who are desperate to turn it to a one party State. 8. That particularly, we call on the International community to show more concern to the threat being posed to democracy in the Nigeria by the present APC led federal government. 9. That the House Supports all legal actions taken by the Candidate and Our Party PDP to retrieve our stolen Mandate. 10. That considering the insecurity and threat to lives and properties in the State, the House Stands adjourned till Oct 8, 2018 during which we hope the Judiciary would have had ample time to bring back our Democracy taken away by force by the APC led Federal Government. Hon. Dr Samuel Omotoso Chairman House Committee on Information.
