Every hotel that can be found in the Maldives may be considered its own island (in rare cases, it is a couple of islands located very close to each other). There is a significant gap between the cheapest and most expensive resorts. There are hotels where the cost of renting a villa for a week is sixty thousand dollars, and there are hotels where the cost of renting a villa is several million dollars. Everything is determined by your preferences as well as the characteristics of the hotel, including its stars, status, and rating.

It is a widely held belief that the ideal size for an island is one that is as tiny as possible. This is not completely accurate; yet again, everyone and everything is unique. It is better to locate yourself somewhere in the centre of the flight path if you are looking for vistas and diversity, for "air," and a choice of five restaurants when you go out to supper. On a tiny island that can be walked around in 5-7 minutes, there will be fewer "views," and most likely fewer restaurants, but the ambiance will be more private; on a too big one, there will be a lot of people, and all the charm and sense of seclusion will soon evaporate. When I say a lot, I mean a lot for an island in the Maldives; nonetheless, it still cannot be compared to the amount of tourists that you can find on the beach in Positano or Sochi at the height of the summer season.

One thing is for certain, and that is that the magnificent Indian Ocean washes over each of these islands in the same way. Because of this, it is quite unlikely that you would discover any change in the warmth or beauty of water. However, there is still room for debate over the island's infrastructure, architecture, amount of restaurants, food, and level of service. In addition, it is important to realise that a lovely underwater environment is not to be found on every island (or in every hotel), so you will need to study individually about the live reefs that are the most intriguing."
