Gunmen abduct first-class Kogi monarch, demand N30m ransom - Edoman - 07-14-2021 Gunmen abduct first-class Kogi monarch, demand N30m ransom Unidentified gunmen have abducted a first-class traditional ruler in Kogi State and the Adogu of Eganyi in Ajaokuta Local Government Area, Mohammed Adembe.   The monarch was abducted along Okene-Adogo road on Tuesday night, July 13.   According to reports, the monarch was alone in his car when he was abducted. He was said to have left Okene town around 4pm and was heading to Eganyi community when his vehicle was intercepted by the assailants between Ebiya and Eganyi.   Family sources who confirmed his abduction said the assailants have contacted them and are demanding N30 million ransom for his release.   While confirming the abduction, the spokesperson of the state police command, William Ayah, said the special squad of the police is currently working towards the safe rescue of the monarch.   This abduction comes barely three days after the kidnap of the Managing Director of AZECO Pharmaceutical company, AbdulAzeez Obajimoh,  at Ozuwaya in Okene area of the state.
