Daily Devotional for Tuesday 25th May - Edoman - 05-25-2021

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES,

TUESDAY 25TH MAY 2021.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

TOPIC: ENDLESS JOY

For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost (Romans 14:17).

According to the Scriptures, there’s a relationship between joy and the Holy Ghost. Romans 15:13 says, “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.”

Also, in 1 Thessalonians 1:6, the Bible says, “And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost.”And our theme verse says the Kingdom of God is “righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.”

Although some Christians have received the Holy Spirit, their hearts are full of troubles; they’re worried about many things. They’re worried about their children, their health, business, etc. They just seem to have so many reasons to not be happy.
Someone may say, “With the things happening in my life, I need a change of environment; I need to travel somewhere I can really be happy.” No! Don’t look to anything external to give you joy. Joy is one of the fruits of your recreated human spirit. So, it’s in you. Your spirit produces endless joy. It’s called, “...joy unspeakable and full of glory”(1 Peter 1:8).

True joy and happiness have nothing to do with what’s going on around you. Our joy is independent of circumstances. We’re joyful in adversity. That’s what the Bible says: count it all joy, when you go through diverse tests (James 1:2).

Some thoughts may come to you to dampen your faith, to douse your joy and dampen your spirit; always be quick to discard such thoughts. Be joyful ALWAYS! The Spirit of God does more for and with us in an atmosphere of joy and happiness. So, make up your mind to be joyful, today, and always.

CONFESSION

I’ve been brought into the life of unending joy, the joy that comes from the inner man and transcends physical circumstances. My joy is of the Spirit, and independent of circumstances; I’m ever strong and alive, for the joy of the Lord is my strength! Blessed be God!

FURTHER STUDY:

1 Peter 1:7-8
That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: 8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see [him] not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

Proverbs 17:22
A merry heart doeth good [like] a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

Nehemiah 8:10
Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for [this] day [is] holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

#AFFIRMATIONTRAIN

I affirm that the Word is working in me mightily, propelling me in the path of greatness as I fulfil my destiny in Christ. God’s Word has granted me direction, speed, illumination, inspiration, counsel, and wisdom.

My spirit is constantly equipped, refreshed, and educated by the Word to produce excellence and manifest righteousness. I’ve been ushered into a life that is beyond the ordinary plane of natural perception.

I am full of might and ability of the Spirit. I am like a tree planted by the waters, that spreads out her roots by the river. I do not know when heat comes.

I am prosperous and triumphant always in Christ Jesus! Hallelujah! I am well positioned; seated with Christ in heavenly places, far above all the hardships, troubles, and perils in the world. I am of a different breed!

I am not a part of the suffering masses. God has handpicked me out of the masses; out of the corruptive influence of this world into the Kingdom of His dear Son. I’m in a safe place; a place of authority and dominion. Hallelujah!

I can never be a victim; for God has prearranged my life for good. I walk those paths that have been laid out for me before the foundations of the world and I prosper in all my ways. I am of the day and not of the night; therefore, darkness has no place in me.

I am the light of the world; my calling is to illumine the hearts of men. When I arrive anywhere, illumination comes, and confusion and perplexity are dispelled. Glory to God. Hallelujah!

God bless you

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

DATE: TUESDAY 25TH MAY 2021

THEME: ETERNAL INVESTMENTS

MEMORISE:

And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him. Luke 5:11

READ:   Mark 10:28-30

28 Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.

29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,

30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

 MESSAGE:
When God calls anyone to do His work, there is always glory ahead for such a fellow. Elisha forsook the flourishing farm business of his father, and God made him a national figure, such that kings called him “Father” (2 kings 6:21). In the Bible reading of today, Jesus assured His disciples that their sacrifice would be rewarded a hundredfold here on earth and they would enjoy eternal life in Heaven. Our God is not a debtor.
When God called me to work on a full-time basis, I had to leave the University campus where I had been living in a duplex, for a very small apartment in Lagos, Nigeria. The new apartment was too small for my family and me, so I asked God for a bigger house. The Lord then the told me He was preparing a city for me. Today, the Redemption camp is the beginning of the fulfilment of the promised city. I am still awaiting the city, because my Father in Heaven said that we have not seen anything yet. Jesus said in Mark 10:29-30:
“Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.”

Whenever God wants to bless an individual, He would typically ask the fellow for a unique sacrifice. When God wanted to bless Abraham, He set him up by requesting his only son- Isaac, as a burnt sacrifice. Abraham proved his love for God by obeying. God preserved his son and also swore to bless him so much that through him, the families of the earth would be blessed. Abraham was not only blessed; he became a blessing (Genesis 22:15-18). Similarly, the widow of Zarephath gave all to gain all and her family was fed throughout three and half years of famine.

The principle still works to date. If only you would surrender everything to God. Sacrificial obedience as displayed by Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Easter and other great Bible saints, is an eternal investment. As you follow suit today, you will always have more than you bargain for, and more than you can ever imagine, in Jesus; name.

ACTION POINT:
What is it that God is requesting from you? Offer it to Him and you will receive pleasant surprises.

HYMN 24: TAKE MY LIFE AND LET IT BE.
1. Take my life and let it be
Consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
*Take my moments and my days,
Let them flow in endless praise.

2. Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for Thee.

3. Take my voice and let me sing,
Always, only for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee.

4. Take my silver and my gold,
Not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
Every pow’r as Thou shalt choose.

5. Take my will and make it Thine,
It shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is Thine own,
It shall be Thy royal throne.

6. Take my love, my Lord, I pour
At Thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself and I will be
Ever, only all for Thee.
