Bandits kill traditional ruler and two others in fresh attack on Sokoto community - Edoman - 03-26-2021 Bandits kill traditional ruler and two others in fresh attack on Sokoto community Suspected armed bandits have attacked Tunga community in Illela Local Government Area of Sokoto State, killing the village head and two others.   According to reports, the armed bandits stormed the village on Wednesday evening March 24, shooting sporadically into the air.  The village head was reportedly shot dead after he refused to follow the bandits who wanted to kidnap him.   The attack comes few days after gunmen attacked Amarawa community, also in Illela LGA, killing at least 10 persons.   Sokoto, like many other states across the North, has witnessed sporadic attacks by bandits and kidnappers that have claimed the lives of many.
