Three policemen shot dead in Benue

Three policemen were on Thursday December 24, shot dead at the residence of Alfred Avalumun Atera, chairman of Katsina-Ala local government area of Benue state.
 
It was learnt that some civilians were also killed in the incident. Benue police spokesperson, Catherine Anene confirmed the incident but didn't provide much details. 
 
She said; 
 
Quote:“Three policemen were killed and investigation has commenced."
 
Governor Samuel Ortom who reacted to the incident via a statement released by his spokesperson Terver Akase, described the incident as an assassination attempt on the chairman of Katsina-Ala.
 
He called on security operatives to bring the perpetrators to justice and also assured the people of Sankera and other parts of the state that his administration will not relent in its collaboration with security agencies to curb crime.
