Agent Eddie Hearn reveals Anthony Joshua's reaction to new video showing Tyson Fury’s flabby physique ahead of megafight

Anthony Joshua's agent and promoter, Eddie Hearn has revealed Anthony Joshua reaction after seeing a video showing Tyson Fury’s current physical condition.

This comes ahead of a Fury vs Joshua massive showdown which is close to being finalised for this summer.

The rival heavyweight champions look set to meet for the undisputed championship – all four belts – in June or July this year

Though they have not started training camps yet, some fans raised concerns over Fury’s physique in a video he recently posted to social media.

In the video Fury, the WBC, Lineal and Ring magazine heavyweight champion took off his shirt and jumped into the Morecambe Bay.

His flabby shape caught the attention of AJ’s promoter Hearn, who showed the video to Joshua.

Hearn (pictured down right) told Seconds Out: “I think before he goes into any main camp he doesn’t look like AJ, ever.

“I said to AJ the other day, ‘Did you see Fury jumping in the sea? He looked like me!’

“The response from AJ was, ‘We’re gonna get the best Tyson Fury, so I don’t care if he’s carrying a bit of extra weight now, I’m training for the best ever Tyson Fury.’

“And, make no mistake, Fury will be in top shape for this fight.

“We’ve still probably got maybe four/five months to go. He hasn’t even started camp yet.

“I think the impressive thing from both these guys is they haven’t stopped training.

“AJ, since his last fight, he don’t wanna stop training.

“I even said to him, ‘What about a little bit of warm weather? Go and relax a little bit? You don’t wanna over-train.’

“He said, ‘No, I’m fine at Finchley.’

“He’s sparring, he’s training, he’s preparing for the fight of his life.”

Europa League: Dele Alli takes swipe at Mourinho, praises Pochettino

on
 February 18, 2021

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Dele Alli, has taken a veiled swipe at manager, Jose Mourinho, and hailing his predecessor, Mauricio Pochettino.

Mourinho has apparently frozen Alli out of his first-team plans, with the England international making just five appearances for Spurs in the Premier League so far this season.
Alli, whose future at Tottenham is unclear, saw a move to reunite with Pochettino at Paris Saint-Germain fall through the last January transfer window.

Speaking ahead of Tottenham’s Europa League clash with Wolfsberger on Thursday night, Alli said he was lucky to play under Pochettino at Tottenham, adding that the Argentine knows how to manage him.

“I was very lucky to have a manager like Pochettino – he was an unbelievable guy and very experienced,” Alli was quoted by The Sun as saying.
“He would pull me in if I was doing dumb stuff and speak with me.

“Not like a dad – but that sort of vibe.”
Alli, 24, joined Tottenham from MK Dons in 2015.
Meanwhile, speaking last month, Mourinho outwardly challenged Alli to fight for his future, claiming that ‘unhappy’ players fall into two categories.

EPL: Chelsea gets double boost ahead of Southampton clash

on
 February 19, 2021

Chelsea have received a double injury boost ahead of their Premier League clash against Southampton on Saturday.

Chelsea stars, Thiago Silva and Kai Havertz both returned to Chelsea’s full training on Thursday morning at Cobham ahead of Southampton clash.
Silva has missed Chelsea’s last three games with a muscle injury.

The Brazilian will no doubt be desperate to return to Chelsea first-team when they take on Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton this weekend.

Havertz, meanwhile, suffered a knock in training prior to Chelsea’s win at Tottenham earlier this month.

The 21-year-old Germany international could be in line to feature on Saturday.
The likes of Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech were also seen putting in the hard yards at Cobham and are likely to be involved at St Mary’s.

Chelsea head to the game after beating Newcastle United 2-0 last Monday.

'Selfish' Ronaldo doesn't care if other Juventus players score, claims Cassano

[Image: cristiano-ronaldo_1jb076z3lg4oc1vf5m0q7x...uality=100]

Cristiano Ronaldo is "selfish" and is struggling to adjust to Andrea Pirlo's style of play at Juventus, according to former Italy international Antonio Cassano.

Juventus suffered a surprise 2-1 loss away at Porto in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Wednesday, with Federico Chiesa scoring in the 82nd minute after Mehdi Taremi and Moussa Marega put Sergio Conceicao's side in control.

Ronaldo supplied two key passes and only had one shot on target in the match, with the Bianconeri facing possible elimination in the first knockout round for the second straight season. It was the first time Ronaldo had registered one shot or fewer in a Champions League match since November 2019 against Atletico Madrid.

Juve spent €112million to bring five-time Champions League winner Ronaldo to Turin in 2018 with the aim of boosting their chances of lifting the trophy for the first time since 1996.

Cassano thinks Ronaldo has struggled to adapt to the philosophy of rookie head coach Pirlo and is too focused on himself to help the team.

"I have always said, even though he is a phenomenon and has scored a billion goals, that with Andrea Pirlo's idea of football he could run into difficulties," Cassano said on Christian Vieri's Twitch channel BoboTV.
"He scores a goal per game, it's true, but he struggles with Andrea's idea. He's always been a bit selfish, he doesn't give a damn about others scoring goals.

"He's the kind of player that lives to score, not for the game, for the great match. He lives to score and in this moment the situation is getting worse. The years pass for everyone and he is having difficulties.

"The paradox is that Juventus have bought a player who has won five Champions Leagues but has so many difficulties in the Champions League.

"This is because, since Sarri, Juventus are trying to show a style that is different to its history. It's clear that Pirlo must be judged in four or five years, but Juventus want everything immediately."

Ronaldo has scored 88 goals in 116 games in all competitions for Juve and has supplied 19 assists. Juan Cuadrado (21) is the only Juventus player to have laid on more goals since the Portugal captain's arrival ahead of the 2018-19 season.

Arteta frustrated by misfiring Gunners in Benfica draw

[Image: artetacropped_2omczt50fdjb1dfodg63udqhw....uality=100]

Mikel Arteta warned Arsenal must be more ruthless after they had to settle for a 1-1 Europa League round of 32 draw with Benfica in the first leg at Stadio Olimpico.
Bukayo Saka equalised just over two minutes after Pizzi had opened the scoring from the penalty spot, with Emile Smith Rowe punished for handling a Diogo Goncalves cross in the second half in Rome on Thursday.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang inexplicably wasted a glorious chance to put the Gunners in front in the first half and the captain missed another couple of opportunities five days after scoring a hat-trick against Leeds United.

Saka's away goal in the first of two legs played at neutral venues due to coronavirus-related travel restrictions gives the Premier League club a slight advantage.

Arsenal boss Arteta was frustrated that his side were so wasteful, though, leaving the tie finely poised ahead of the second leg at Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium in Athens next Thursday.

"We were very dominant and created some big chances," he told BT Sport. "We have to be more ruthless.
"It was disappointing the way we conceded the goal. We gave them the ball then it was 1-1 and all to play for.

"We conceded a corner then, from the corner, we did not react quick enough and conceded the penalty. Looking at it, it's difficult to judge. We had a great reaction and scored a great goal.

"We tried to maintain the level. Both teams dropped in the last 20 minutes, but overall we should leave the ground with more."
Saka knows Arsenal have little margin for error after the 19-year-old became the youngest Premier League player to have scored 10 or more goals and provided at least 10 assists since the start of last season.

The versatile England international said: "It is about managing the game. Last year when we went out to Olympiakos we conceded a silly goal. We can't put a foot wrong because if we do we will make it difficult for ourselves."

Real Sociedad 0-4 Manchester United: Fernandes double puts Solskjaer's men in charge

[Image: bruno-fernandes_1wwrwevhsmxc51jktaiwrzxb...uality=100]

Bruno Fernandes scored twice as Manchester United beat Real Sociedad 4-0 in the first leg of their Europa League last-32 tie.

Fernandes took his tally to 33 goals in all competitions for the Red Devils to put Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men in charge inside the first hour.

The LaLiga side had posed a threat at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, where the match was being held due to coronavirus travel restrictions, but Marcus Rashford and Daniel James struck before Amad Diallo was granted his debut late on, meaning United go into next week's return leg in a commanding position.

Former United man Adnan Januzaj curled a shot just wide of the right-hand post and Dean Henderson had to save smartly from Alexander Isak, those chances coming either side of a wasted Rashford opportunity in a thrilling opening three minutes.

Scott McTominay, who had scored three goals in United's previous four games, was denied another by the leg of Alex Remiro after driving into the box from Fernandes' pass.

Rashford then missed another glorious opportunity, firing straight at Remiro after Alex Telles' throughball to Fernandes split the Sociedad defence.

However, he turned provider in the 26th minute. This time, Remiro made a mess of things coming off his line to clear Rashford's pass and clattered into his defenders, giving Fernandes a simple finish.

La Real applied some pressure early in the second half but United doubled their lead on the break. Fernandes let Rashford's pass run to Daniel James and then swept a first-time finish past Remiro, with VAR overturning an initial offside call.

Januzaj continued to threaten against his old club, beating Fernandes and playing in a dangerous cross that Nemanja Matic cleared, but Rashford made no mistake with the third of his chances to kill off the game, slotting past Remiro after Fred's pass cut through the defence.

James had a goal disallowed for a marginal offside and fired another effort straight at Remiro, but he made no mistake with his next chance, charging into the box and squeezing a shot through the keeper's legs.
What does it mean? United end Spanish hoodoo to take charge of tie
United had gone nine games without a win against Spanish sides in Europe stretching back to a 1-0 semi-final first-leg victory over Celta Vigo en route to winning this trophy in 2016-17.

This was a welcome result against a strong side that saw United find something of their attacking groove again and take control of the last-32 tie.

They have been inconsistent at home this season, but they will be firm favourites to progress next week at Old Trafford.
Bruno is frankly brilliant
Fernandes has been involved in 52 goals in 58 games for United in all competitions, which is at least 10 more than any other Premier League player has managed since his debut last February.

Imanol Alguacil's set-up afforded him lots of space to exploit but, unlike some of his team-mates, Fernandes almost always applies a clinical touch.

United can still sharpen up in attack
This proved a comfortable win but, in truth, United should have had many more. Rashford missed two sitters in the first half, James spurned an easier chance than the one he converted, and Mason Greenwood dragged a good opening wide.

Should they progress to the latter stages, they will want to avoid a repeat of last year's semi-final exit when Sevilla punished their lack of ruthlessness. This was an encouraging step towards correcting that problem.

Key Opta Facts
- This was the biggest away victory by an English side against a Spanish opponent in the UEFA Cup/Europa League, surpassing Newcastle United's 3-0 win at Mallorca back in March 2004 (in the last 16).

- Real Sociedad have only won one of their four home games in the Europa League this season (D1 L2), despite attempting 49 more shots than their opponents across these four games (77 shots for, 28 shots faced).
- Marcus Rashford has scored seven goals in European competition this season for United. Excluding qualifiers, this is the most by an Englishman in a season for the Red Devils since Bobby Charlton scored eight in the 1964-65 Fairs Cup.

- Bruno Fernandes has scored nine goals in all European competitions for Manchester United; since his European debut for the club in February 2020, only Inter's Romelu Lukaku (11) has netted more across all players in the Europa League/Champions League.
- Since his Europa League debut in February 2018, Fernandes has been involved in more goals in the competition than any other player (24 - 16 goals, eight assists).

- Dan James scored his fourth goal of the season for United (12th appearance), equalling his goal tally across all competitions for the club last term – four goals in 46 games.

What's next?
Before next Thursday's second leg at Old Trafford, United are at home to Newcastle United in the Premier League on Sunday, with Sociedad hosting Deportivo Alaves in LaLiga

Spurs' win not an incredible victory, but it brings good feelings – Mourinho

[Image: mourinho-cropped_zx4raazd96ws1xebyaadfab...uality=100]

Jose Mourinho acknowledged Tottenham's 4-1 win over Wolfsberger was not "incredible", but insisted it will bring positivity to his squad.

Son Heung-min, Gareth Bale, Lucas Moura and Carlos Vinicius scored in an ultimately routine win in Budapest on Thursday, as Spurs took a huge stride towards reaching the last 16 of the Europa League.

Michael Liendl's 55th-minute penalty complicated matters slightly for Mourinho, but his side were comfortable as they earned just a second win in their last seven games across all competitions.
With a London derby up against West Ham next up for Spurs, Mourinho – who has been eliminated from just one of his 17 previous European knockout ties when winning the first leg, going out in the 2006-07 Champions League semi-final against Liverpool – conceded the performance was not perfect, but believes the victory provides a much-needed boost.

"We had to come and play with ambition which we did. The score should have been more than 3-0 at half-time," Mourinho told reporters.
"In the second half we made that mistake that gave them life. There were some similarities with [the FA Cup tie with] Everton.

"If you're in control and make a mistake you give the opposition life and the game can change – here it didn't change, but the 3-2 was not far from happening.
"We had good control of the game. Lots of chances. I believe the last goal put almost a period on this tie. 4-1 away is a very good result.
"I don't consider this an incredible victory, just a good victory that brings good feelings. By flying back, the plane will be a different plane than after a defeat.

Tomorrow morning in training, the same."
Bale turned in an impressive display in the first half, setting up Son's opener before arrowing in Spurs' second himself.

The Wales forward's five goals this season have all been at different stadiums – Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Linzer Stadion, bet365 Stadium, Adams Park and Puskas Arena – while it was the first time the 31-year-old has both scored and assisted in a game for Spurs since April 2013.

Son, meanwhile, moved onto 18 goals for the season in total with his opener, matching his tally from last season in all competitions, and the South Korea star, who has enjoyed a supreme relationship with Harry Kane this season, revelled in playing alongside an in-form Bale.
"I have a really close relationship with him," Son said.

"I'm very happy he's getting game time and scored a goal and got an assist. I really enjoy playing with him."

Mbappe’s uncertain PSG future to 'be clarified soon' says Pochettino

[Image: psg-coach-mauricio-pochettino-celebrates...uality=100]

Mauricio Pochettino believes Kylian Mbappe’s uncertain future will "be clarified soon" following reports linking the superstar striker with a move away from Paris Saint-Germain.

France international Mbappe lit up the Camp Nou with a devastating hat-trick to crush Barcelona in PSG’s 4-1 Champions League last-16 win on Tuesday.

Following his starring performance, the 22-year-old said: "It would be stupid to decide my future on a single match," sparking speculation about his long-term plans with his hometown club.

Mbappe’s contract expires in June 2022 and some of Europe’s biggest club are rumoured to be circling if the French champions cannot not lock down the World Cup winner to a new deal.

Last year’s losing Champions League finallists, PSG, are currently second in Ligue 1 and Argentine coach Pochettino believes Mbappe can achieve it all at the Parc des Princes.

"PSG can give Mbappe all the tools he needs to be happy," Pochettino told Catalunya Radio program Tot Costa.
"I think it'll be clarified soon."
Mbappe has scored 21 goals in 29 games this season, taking his tally for the club to 116 goals in his four seasons in the French capital since making the move from Monaco in August 2017.

“We have no doubt that Kylian is one of the greatest players in the world despite his youth," Pochettino said after the thumping win against the Catalans.
"He has already done extraordinary things."

Manchester United prepare for Cavani future talks as Solskjaer praises veteran striker

[Image: man-utd-striker-edinson-cavani_g0ovi8alf...uality=100]

Manchester United will holds talks with Edinson Cavani "in the near future" as his short-term contract nears its end, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has declared.

The Uruguayan striker joined in October on a season-long deal as Solskjaer found an experienced frontman to complement the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood.

At the time of his arrival, United announced they had an option to extend Cavani's stay for a further year, and the former Paris Saint-Germain player is reportedly eager to remain at the club.
He has scored six times in eight Premier League starts and nine substitute appearances, at an average of one goal every 140.83 minutes.

That is the best minutes-per-goals ratio in the United squad, in terms of this season's Premier League, with Bruno Fernandes (144.21 minutes per goal) in second place.

Solskjaer has said he considers Cavani as "definitely a starter" and has included the 34-year-old in United's line-up for their last four Premier League games.
"I can only say Edinson has done well," Solskjaer said, ahead of Sunday's home game against Newcastle United.

"I've been impressed by him. He's really gelled in the group and we'll sit down with him and speak with him in the near future to see his plans and our plans.

"It's a good discussion. You always speak to your players, and with his contract situation at the moment, we're very pleased with what he's done."

With his words and his actions, Solskjaer appears keen for Cavani to stay at Old Trafford.
Having become PSG's record scorer with 200 goals, Cavani has helped United mount a title challenge in England, albeit one that now appears to be fading.

Manchester City have streaked 10 points clear of United and Leicester City in the Premier League, heading into the weekend, and it would take some turnaround for Pep Guardiola's team to be denied a third Premier League crown in four years.
"We can't hide the fact we have dropped off on our form in the last few weeks," Solskjaer said.

United's Norwegian boss said the team needed to rediscover their verve, saying: "Newcastle will be a very important game for us."
To acknowledge the title is heading to City at this stage would be a weak move for any manager of United.

"I don't think anyone would say they're not going to go for it," Solskjaer said. "We're going to go for a win in every game we play.
"Whatever other teams do, we can't control. We've just got to control ourselves. We are second, and of course your ambition then is to not end any lower than that.

"We're going to have to get a good run together if we're going to put pressure on City, and it should start on Sunday of course."

Cavani and Donny van de Beek missed the 4-0 Europa League win at Real Sociedad on Thursday with muscle injuries but could come into contention for the Newcastle game, but Paul Pogba remains sidelined.

Solskjaer says United's players must give their all at this stage of the campaign, saying: "Of course it's relentless. You've got to put your body on the line."

Zidane on Mbappe and Haaland: Two tremendous players, for now and the future

[Image: zinedine-zidane-and-kylian-mbappe_13cr1q...uality=100]

Zinedine Zidane enjoyed watching Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland in Champions League action, though he refused to be drawn over his preference amid links to Real Madrid.

Mbappe lit up the start of the knockout stages of the European competition with a hat-trick for Paris Saint-Germain against Madrid's domestic rivals Barcelona on Tuesday, helping the French club record an outstanding 4-1 triumph at Camp Nou.
Just 24 hours later, Haaland continued his astonishing scoring exploits in the Champions League, becoming the fastest player to reach 10 goals for one club as he struck twice for Borussia Dortmund in a 3-2 victory away to Sevilla in the last 16.

Both young forwards have been rumoured as transfer targets for Madrid, so it was hardly surprising they were a topic of discussion for Zidane during his pre-match media conference ahead of Saturday's LaLiga trip to Real Valladolid.

Asked for his assessment of fellow Frenchman Mbappe, he replied: "I think the performance he put in earlier this week was marvellous.
"I loved seeing what he did because we know each other from France.

"It's very good for football, I watched the game as a fan. I had a very good time watching it. He has a lot of good movement, a lot of good play."
French media has claimed Mbappe has been offered a new long-term deal to remain at PSG. The 22-year-old's current contract runs until 2022, which is the same year Haaland can leave Dortmund for €75million (£65m), according to a reported agreement with the Bundesliga club.

Madrid head coach Zidane, however, was not interested in revealing which of the duo he ranked higher.

"Like I said, what I like is just watching football. I just like watching good football, good players on the pitch," he said.

"Two tremendous players, for now and the future. That's it. I'm not going to say who I prefer over the other. Everyone has their opinion."

The continued rise of Mbappe and Haaland as superstars has led to suggestions they can step in and become the next great pairing, taking over from the longstanding rivalry between Madrid legend Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona captain Lionel Messi.

"They are quality players both of them, just like Messi and Cristiano," Zidane said. "Neymar, all these world class players, they're just like them.

"They're younger, they're demonstrating they are not just players for the future but players for the present."

Naomi Osaka Beats Jennifer Brady To Win Second Australian Open Title

Naomi Osaka powered her way to a second Australian Open title with a comprehensive straight sets victory over grand slam final debutant Jennifer Brady.

The match had all the makings of an epic final during a tight first set, but Osaka's class and experience ultimately proved too much as she raced to a 6-4 6-3 victory in just under an hour and a half.

It was the first grand slam final with a significant crowd since last year's Australian Open and with both players producing shots of the highest quality -- in particular during the first set -- those lucky enough to bag a ticket were treated to a spectacle.

Victory gives Osaka her fourth grand slam title at the age of only 23 and she looks set to be a dominant force in women's tennis for some time to come.

EPL: Gary Neville calls Liverpool players ‘zombies’

on
 February 23, 2021

Former Manchester United player, Gary Neville, has branded Liverpool players as ‘zombies’.

Neville said this after Liverpool suffered their seventh defeat of the Premier League season over the weekend.
Liverpool lost 2-0 to Everton at Anfield over the weekend following goals from Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson.

“It is starting to get a little bit worrying in a sense we know they [Liverpool] have got injuries,” Neville said on his Sky Sports Podcast.

“We know they haven’t got fans in the stadium, we know about COVID and there are a lot of games, but it is the same for everybody. But it is the lack of change. A different idea.

“They just look beaten, almost like zombies on the pitch. Walking around thinking the same thing.

“Maybe it needs something different from Klopp? He has been quite simply unchallengeable and still is at Liverpool, but even he might be thinking now: ‘do I’ve to do something different?’

“It is not for me to advise Liverpool or Klopp what to do but playing a box to protect your centre-backs or maybe going to three at the back. We’ve seen other teams go to that system.

“But it looks to me they need a new idea just to give them a spark or it could be a really depressing season for them where they don’t qualify for the Champions League, although I still think they’ll.”

EPL: What Chelsea have done to me – Timo Werner

on
 February 23, 2021

Chelsea forward, Timo Werner, has admitted that he has been humbled by the difficulties he has had to face at the club since joining last summer.

The German admitted that his struggles at Stamford Bridge have brought him down to earth.
Werner said he can no longer be considered a “super striker”.

The forward joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig for a fee of £47.5 which means that much was expected of him but he has so far failed to live up to that hefty price tag.

The Germany international knows he has fallen short of expectations in his first few months with the Blues.

“At the beginning, I had this self-image that I can go on doing my thing here, but in the last few months I have been brought down to earth. It’s the way in England that you never have a quiet game,” he told Kicker.

“The players are 1.9 meters tall, brutal physically and really fast – including the defenders. It’s impressive what intensity is going on in the Premier League.”
