Seven persons perish in a boat mishap in Sokoto - Edoman - 09-22-2020 Seven persons perish in a boat mishap in Sokoto No fewer than seven persons have died in a boat accident that occurred in Lambara Dam in Shagari local government area of Sokoto state.   Confirming the incident, a government official, Ango Shagari said the incident occurred on Monday afternoon.   He said the accident occurred due to the overloading of the boat and that the bodies of the seven victims have been recovered and buried according to Islamic rites.   He added that majority of the victims were farmers and laborers working for a large scale farmer across the river.
