Missing Nigerian student, Caleb Obari found dead in Ukraine - Edoman - 09-14-2020 Missing Nigerian student, Caleb Obari found dead in Ukraine weeks after his parents issued plea to help find him Caleb Obari, the 21-year-old Nigerian graduate who went missing in August after attending a yacht party with friends, has been found dead in Odesa Oblast, Ukraine.   Caleb's body was found on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020, near the coastline in Chornomorsk. According to the police, the cause of death is yet to be established and his case is currently being investigated as an accident.   Recall that weeks ago Caleb's parents released a video begging for help in finding their son who attended a Yacht party with friends after they were invited by a woman only for them to return without him. They stated that the friends and the woman should be questioned about what happened to their son (read here).     According to a volunteer group called Rescue Platform 911, Obari was invited to a party on a boat by Vera Topalova, owner of a BDSM-themed bar Iznanka in Odesa. Out of about 10 passengers on the boat, Obari was the only foreigner. The boat set sail from the Sauvignon Yacht Club in Odesa and went four kilometers out from the coast but returned without Obari.    The deceased friend who waited for him after the party was over said that when the boat arrived without Obari, other passengers gave his personal belongings, including a mobile phone, to him without any explanation of what happened.   Few days after Obari’s disappearance, Topalova in a Facebook post, admitted to inviting him to the party but said he went swimming in the sea together with other guests and went missing which indicates he had drowned since he couldn’t swim.   After his disappearance, friends took to Twitter to trend the hashtag #JusticeForCaleb and a protest was held near the Nigerian Embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kyiv on Aug 31.   b RE: Missing Nigerian student, Caleb Obari found dead in Ukraine - Edoman - 09-14-2020 Parents beg for help as their son who went to Ukraine for school goes missing after hanging out with friends on a yacht The parents of a Nigerian student who went missing in Ukraine after being invited to a party on a yacht have issued a plea for help in getting information about their son's whereabouts.   Nigerian citizen, Obari-Mark Caleb, born in 1999, is a recent graduate of Sumy State Agrarian University. He has a residence permit in Ukraine.   He was invited by a woman to a party on a yacht on Thursday, August 20. He attended the party in the company of his friends but didn't return with them.   According to volunteers of the search platform, "911", Caleb disappeared during a walk. He was on the yacht of the private yacht club “Sauvignon” (Ovidiopol district of Odessa region) when he disappeared.   He reportedly went for the walk in the company of 8 people (including the captain of the yacht).    In the Odessa region, the police are investigating the circumstances of the disappearance of the Nigerian citizen while on a yacht.   Caleb's companions claim that he disappeared while swimming. Caleb cannot swim and speaks only English, according to students and teachers of Sumy College.   According to EN24 News, Caleb was invited to the yacht by a woman who, according to public figures, is the owner (or employee) of one of the well-known local clubs with an ambiguous reputation.   The “911” platform has a photo of Caleb, in which he was in the club in the company of the aforementioned young woman. The photo, according to volunteers, was taken a few weeks ago.     Currently, criminal proceedings have been opened under Part 1 of Art. 115 (premeditated murder) of the Criminal code of Ukraine.    It has been reported that Caleb's comrades independently hired two private divers who are exploring the Black Sea, where he could have drowned.   Meanwhile, Caleb's parents have released a video, demanding answers. His father begged the Nigerian authorities to get involved and help him find his son as he has reached out to Ukraine to ask questions without getting any satisfactory answer.   Caleb's mother said she believes someone is behind her son's disappearance and she begged for help and prayers in uncovering the mystery. She asked how it is possible that he will go out with friends and they will come back without him and not have an answer as to what happened to him.   Below is a video of the parents reacting to their son's disappearance.
