Quote:Kogi State Governor , Yahaya Bello, is currently trapped along the Abuja-Lokoja express road as a result of a traffic deadlock which has entered its second day.

THE NIGERIA DAILY gathered that the traffic which kept thousands of vehicles immovable since Saturday arose from an accident involving Dangote and BUA cement trucks

Another source told our reporter that it was a deliberate attempt by citizens of Kogi state to humiliate the governor over poor infrastructural development.
The governor , THE NIGERIA DAILY learnt, was returning from an official function in Abuja when his convoy got stucked.
Despite the presence of the Governor’s security details and officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission their appears to be no end in sight as he can neither go forward nor backward.

As at time of filing this report at 5:50 Pm men of the Nigerian Army and Police were also sighted trying to clear the road.
Other commuters are also stranded in the traffic jam, which looks to continue for the next two days if nothing specialis done.
This newspaper reports that several commuters and passengers have abandoned their vehicles to trek due to rising tension.
