Presidency lists President Buhari’s achievements as he marks 5 years in office - Edoman - 05-28-2020 Presidency lists President Buhari’s achievements as he marks 5 years in office Ahead of the 5th year anniversary of President Buhari in office, tomorrow May 29, Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, has released a statement enlisting the ''salutary achievements'' the President has made so far. President Buhari took over from Goodluck Jonathan after a keenly contested election in 2015 and was re-elected for a second term in 2019. Adesina in his statement said the President came into office on the wings of change and that the change ''has so far been wrought in nearly all facets of national life''. The presidential spokesperson added that the President has kept his promise to improve security, diversify the economy by creating jobs, and fight corruption. According to Adesina, prior to the Buhari administration, ''bombs went off like firecrackers, insurgents ran riot around the country, other forms of crime and criminality held sway'' but that over the last five years, the battle has been taken to the insurgents and that they are being extinguished by the day.
