Police officer arrested for killing Islamic cleric in Lagos - Edoman - 05-21-2020 Police officer arrested for killing Islamic cleric in Lagos A police officer identified as Inspector Okoro Charles has been arrested in connection to the shooting at Ikotun area of Lagos state on Wednesday May 20, which led to the death of a 28-year-old Islamic cleric Fatai Oladipupo. The Police Inspector who has been subjected to internal disciplinary procedures known as Orderly Room Trial at the State Provost Department, will be handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department Yaba for prosecution in conventional Court if found guilty of the charges against him. In a statement made available to LIB by Lagos state Police Spokesperson Bala Elkana, it was gathered that investigation is ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding the shooting incident. The statement reads; Quote:Lagos State Police Command has on 20/5/2020 arrested Inspector Okoro Charles attached to Ikotun Division. |
