The Police in Jigawa State have impounded 132 motorcyclists and 14 motorists for allegedly violating lockdown order.

Spokesman of the command, SP Abdu Jinjiri confirmed the arrest to DAILY POST.
He said the arrest was made at the areas where lockdown order was enforced.

Jigawa State police command had earlier warned that anybody found violating the lockdown order will be arrested, prosecuted and his vehicle or motorcycle impounded.

Jinjiri said their attitude was seen as a sabotage to the Government’s efforts in fighting the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic in the State.

“The Jigawa State Police Command has impounded 14 motor vehicles, 132 motorcycles and 3 Keke Napep tricycles over violation of lockdown order,” he said.

He appealed to people of the State to respect the order to curb the spread of COVID-19.
