The Minister of Health Dr Osagie Ehanire was on Tuesday May 19, questioned by members of the House of Representatives on whereabouts of the Chinese doctors who arrived the country weeks ago.

The lawmakers who demanded the full details of the activities and whereabouts of the Chinese doctors, said they were not satisfied with the Minister's statement of the Chinese doctors not being guests of the Federal Ministry of Health but that of a Chinese firm in Abuja.

Channels Television reported that the lawmakers expressed their dissatisfaction with the comment following a motion of urgent public importance raised by Hon. Dachung Bagos.

In a seperate motion, the lawmakers also resolved to investigate the status of medical and pharmaceutical research in the fight against COVID-19 in Nigeria.

They also expressed worry that Nigerian scientists and researchers have not been given the necessary support and funding for medical research.
