Lagos confirms 19 new cases of COVID-19 as toll hits 254 in state

The Lagos State Government has confirmed nineteen new Coronavirus cases in the state.



Prof. Akin Abayomi, the State Commissioner for Health made this known via his Twitter page on Friday.
The new confirmation brings the total number of COVID-19 cases in Lagos to 254.



He said, “As of 16th April 2020, 19 new cases of COVID-19 infection were confirmed in Lagos State.
He said, “This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 Lagos cases to 254.


“5 fully recovered COVID-19 patients were discharged.”



“Total discharged #COVID19 patients are now 90. I urge you to keep observing #SocialDistancing and #StayHome to reduce the spread of #COVID19.”


Recall that the NCDC, on its verified Twitter account, on Thursday said it recorded 35 new cases of COVID-19.
NCDC said it recorded 19 in Lagos, 9 in FCT, 5 in Kano and 2 in Oyo State.
