Coronovairus: Buhari’s Ministers donate 50 percent salaries

The 43 Ministers appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari have donated 50 percent of their March 2020 salaries to support the Federal Government’s fight against coronavirus.



This was contained in a statement on Saturday, by the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed.
He disclosed that the Minister of State for Transportation, Gbemisola Saraki, coordinated the donation.



Mohammed quoted her as saying the fund was raised to support the efforts to tackle the disease.
”This global virus outbreak will require nations, continents and smaller communities to pull together to contribute their resources and
support one another”, Saraki said.


She added that the guesture will facilitate an early resolution of COVID-19.



The Ministers also commended Buhari for his leadership role in addressing the outbreak.


The cases of the global pandemic has risen to 81 in Nigeria.


Globally, the disease has killed about 300,000 people and affected 200 countries.
