8-Year-Old Boko Haram Executioner Used To Execute Captured Christian - Edoman - 01-22-2020

A video which showed an 8-year-old boy who belongs to a Boko Haram faction called the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), executing a Christian hostage in Borno State has been released by ISIS’s Amaq news agency.

The video was released just after the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Chairman in Michika Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Rev Lawan Andimi was executed by another faction of Boko Haram.

In the horrific footage shared, the boy was heard saying "We won't stop until we take revenge for all the blood that was spilled".

Commenting on the video, Rita Katz who is the Director of SITE Intelligence Group which is an organisation which tracks the activities of jihadist groups, said it is not just another piece to ISIS’ honed-in targeting of Christians of recent years, but also a throwback to its older propaganda from Iraq and Syria of brainwashed children carrying grisly executions.

Daciya Ropvil Dalep, a 200 Level Biology Education student of the University of Maiduguri and a native of Jing in Pankshin Local Government Area of Plateau State, has been identified as the hostage executed by a Boko Haram boy. See previous report here

Members of the community including politicians have taken to Facebook to mourn and condem the gruesome killing of the student.

See some of their posts below...

BRUTAL MURDER OF MR. ROPVIL DACIYA DALEP BY BOKO HARAM WORRISOME; A THREAT TO NATIONAL SECURITY, EDUCATION, PEACE & UNITY
With heavy and trembling heart I watched the video of the execution of Mr. Ropvil Daciya Dalep of Jing village Pankshin LGA Plateau State, a 200 Biology Student of UniMaid by a Teenage Boko Haram Member.
So terrible and disheartening.
My heart goes to the good people of Jing Village, Pankshin LGA & Plateau State at large.

Our National security, peace and unity have come under severe threat.
Those saddled with the responsibilities of safeguarding lives, property and enhancing our internal security must up their games and guarantee a safer, peaceful and secured Nation.
My concern also is the Teenage Boko Haram Member who at this tender age has been negatively influenced to be a monstrous killer/terrorist.

May his soul and many others brutally murdered RIP.

GAGDI CONDEMNED THE BOKO HARAM EXECUTION ON A CONSTITUENT*

I condemn in the strongest terms, the gruesome “execution“ by Boko Haram insurgents, of Daciya Ropvil Dalep, a native of Jing in Pankshin Local Government Area of Plateau State and a Biology/Education student of University of Maiduguri.
Although the video could not open so that we can pictorially understand the nature he was executed, I am devastated by the excruciating lost of this promising young man, and more pathetically, in a gruesome manner one could not wish for his archenemy.

Daciya was abducted by Boko Haram on his way back to school about two weeks ago, without any information reaching his family as to his whereabouts, only for the video-picture showing his gruesome execution by the insurgents to be seen trending on social media.

This has, once again, brought to fore the nightmarish experience of people living in the insurgency ravaged Northeastern part of Nigeria, and the need for government to redouble her efforts to stamp out the irresponsible activities of this terrorist organization.

It is most despicable that despite the resources sunk in fighting the insurgency, the nefarious activities of the insurgents fester, and more precious lives continue to perish in a wanton manner.

This sad news is coming just when I am exploring both legislative and lobbying mechanisms to get the federal government negotiate the release of Bashir Abdulhamis, a native of Kanam LGA who has been in Boko Haram captivity since 4th December, 2019. Bashir is an adhoc staff of World Health Organization, ambushed by the insurgents in Gambu, while on his way to Maiduguri to take polio specimen for experimentation.

While I condole with the family of Daciya over this tragic lost, I want to assure the public that I shall present their case at the plenary of the National Assembly in order to bring to the notice of the authorities for further action.

I want to strongly advocate for more logistics and moral support to the security operatives fighting insurgency anywhere in Nigeria.

The determination of our security personnel to curb the dastardly activities of the insurgents is manifestly evident in the number of fallen heroes who died on the line of duty, fighting to secure the country.
Our prayers for them is sacrosanct in winning this war, but first and foremost, equipping the Military with adequate weaponry to face the terrorists is of utmost importance.

Family of Dalep Dachiya, UNIMAID student murdered by Boko Haram, cries out for justice

The family of Dalep Dachiya, a 200 level student of the University of Maiduguri, who was recently killed by members of the Boko Haram sect, has urged the Federal Government to fish out the killers of their son.

Dalep was on his way to school on January 9th when he was abducted by the sect members. A video of his gruesome murder was later released yesterday January 22nd.

Pa David Dachiya who is the head of the family and an uncle of the deceased, held a press conference in Jos, Plateau state today, where he said that although the family has accepted their fate and surrendered everything to God, fishing out and punishing the killers of their son would bring succour to the bereaved family and others involved.

Quote:“As a family we just want to thank God for everything; we believe that what happened, happened for good. But we want to strongly call on the government to fish out the killers of our son. He was just an innocent boy who was killed for no reason. We equally urge the government to intensify efforts in fighting insurgency and all forms of insecurity in the country” he said

He urged the Federal government to intensify its efforts to stop the continuous attacks in Plateau state.

Quote:'' This morning, we appeal to the government for action because the statement that was made in the video is quite touching. If an eight years old child can tell the whole world that they are revenging what Plateau had done to their forefathers in Borno which I don’t know apart from hearing from him, I have never heard of it.

An eight years old boy cannot say that, some elderly people have incited him to do it. We are in the last days. We are not provocating anybody but our prayer as a family is that God should touch our leaders otherwise all our people from Plateau will not be able to travel to Maiduguri or Borno in general because that statement has made it known that anybody who is going there would be killed if they know that you are from Plateau.

Our appeal as a family is that the government should do something to stabilize what is happening, we pray that God will see us through.” he said
