President Donald Trump and Speaker Nancy Pelosi of the United States of America have been petitioned by Imo Diaspora Coalition for Justice and Democracy, over the removal of Emeka Ihedioha as the Governor of Imo State by the Supreme Court.

The group sought for a US visa ban against Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Muhammad and six other Justices of the Supreme Court of Nigeria who decided the matter.

According to the group, Justice Tanko, Justice Kudrat Kekere–Ekun, Justice Sylvester Ngwuta, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, Justice Aminu Sanusi, Justice Amina Augie, and Justice Uwani Abba-Aji went on a judicial coup by overturning the governorship mandate given to Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha. The petition so far has over 700 signatures.

The group said;

Quote: “Nigeria’s disgraceful partisan Supreme Court must reverse her recent perverted ruling or be placed on visa ban or no-fly list, including members of their immediate families.

“In what has been described a ‘judicial coup’, the Supreme Court of Nigeria overturned the landslide Imo State governorship electoral mandate, given to Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and handed victory to the ruling All Progressives Congress’ (APC) candidate, Hope Uzodinma, who came a distant fourth position in the election.

“When that whole fake results were added without adjustment to other figures, it brought the total votes cast to 928,054 , which is not only higher than INEC declared total valid votes cast of 714,355 but total number of accredited voters of 823,743 for the election. Yet, the Supreme Court in a bizarre judgment awarded more votes to the fourth placed candidate, that inflated total votes cast above the number of voters, and made him winner.”

Quote:Secondus, Peter Obi, Abaribe Protest Against Supreme Court Judgement In Abuja

Leaders and supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have staged a protest across the streets of Abuja over the recent verdict of the Supreme Court that sacked one of its governors, Emeka Ihedioha.

The party’s national chairman, Uche Secondus, on Friday, during the party’s emergency National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting stated that the aim of the protest was to impress it on Nigerians that injustice has been done to the party.

The Supreme Court had on January 14 nullified the electoral victory of Emeka Ihedioha, the PDP Imo State 2019 governorship candidate.

The apex court had held that the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Hope Uzodinma, was the duly elected governor of the state and ordered that he be sworn in as the governor of the state.

Some of the PDP leaders at the protest include the PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus; the 2019 Vice-President candidate, Peter Obi; and the Senate Minority Leader, Enyinnaya Abaribe.

Ihedioha: Women In Black Protest, Cry For God's Intervention For Ihedioha (Photo)

Supporters of Emeka Ihedioha, former governor of Imo, flooded the streets of Owerri, the state capital, on Sunday, demanding a reversal of the supreme court judgement which ordered his sack.

The apex court had on Tuesday ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to return Hope Uzodinma, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as winner of the March election.

Uzodinma placed a distant fourth in the results announced by INEC.

The aggrieved protesters wielded placards with inscriptions such as: “Ihedioha We Know’; “Democracy Has Been Murdered”; “We Want Him Back”, among others.

Most of them dressed in black attire. See pictures below
