Two dead, four injured in Ogun road crash

Two persons have been confirmed dead by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in accident that occurred on Thursday along Atan-Idiroko international corridor.


The FRSC added that four other persons sustained injuries in the road crash which happened about 1220hrs around NASFAT, in Idiroko.

According to a statement signed by the Ogun FRSC Public Education Officer, Route Commander Florence Okpe, on Friday, a total of two vehicles and one motorcycle were involved.



Okpe said seven persons were involved in Boxing Day accident.

DAILY POST learnt that the injured victims were rescued to Idiroko General Hospital for medical treatment, while the corpses of the dead victims were deposited at the Idiroko General Hospital Morgue.

According to Okpe, “the suspected cause of the crash was excessive speed that led to loss of control.”

Three people in lone car crash on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

The Ogun State Command of Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC) on Saturday, December 28th confirmed that three persons died while three others sustained injuries in an accident that involved a vehicle around Lufuape, near AP Turning Point, on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.  
Clement Oladele, Ogun Sector Commander of FRSC, in Ota, Ogun, said that the lone accident happened at about 3.47 p.m. on Friday. Oladele explained that a Toyota Hummer bus, with registration number KSF 272 XM, lost control due to speeding and rammed into road divider of the construction area.  
 
According to him, 17 persons comprising of four male adults, 10 female adults and three children were involved in the accident which led to the death of two female adults and a female child.
Quote:The corpse of the victims have been deposited at the morgue, Idera Hospital, Sagamu while the survivors are also receiving treatment at the same hospital,” he said.
