16 Boko Haram terrorists surrender to Nigerian Army after being outgunned - Edoman - 11-09-2019 16 Boko Haram terrorists surrender to Nigerian Army after being outgunned The Nigerian Army has announced the arrest of 16 members of a faction of Boko Haram, the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP). Nigerian Army Operations Media Coordinator Col. Aminu IIliyas said in a statement released on Friday November 8, that the suspects surrrendered after being outgunned. The operation which led to the death of several members of the terrorist group, also led to the arrest of several Boko Haram Logistics Suppliers and informants. Quote:“On Nov.1, 16 insurgents along with 8 of their spouses who could no longer bear the heat from the onslaught against them surrendered to the relentless troops of Sector 1, Multinational Joint Task Force at Fotokol" the statement read. He further revealed that one insurgent Gun Truck was destroyed, four AK47 Rifles and a cache of ammunition were recovered. In Yobe state, troops of Sector 2 deployed to Damaturu stopped a Boko Haram infiltration. The operation was successful due to the combined effort between the ground troops, artillery bombardment and precision air strikes by the Air Task Force of Operation LAFIYA DOLE.
