Ebonyi gets less Federal allocation than Kogi. It gets about N60bill annually. Kogi gets over N70bill.
The Paris refund Ebonyi got is about N8.5billion. Kogi got about N11billion. Ebonyi got N4billion in bail-out funds. Kogi got a whopping N50billion!
The current Ebonyi State Governor met the state domestic debt at N34billion. After 4yrs of overseeing the state affairs, their domestic debt is now at N42billion. About N8billion increase.
Guess what? no salaries/pensions were owed under this period in view. And the man has changed the skyline of the capital city with flyovers, beautiful city lighting , landscaping , roads etc.( check the pictures below)
In Kogi, under the same 4yrs , we grappled with 8-9months (on the average) delay in salary/pension payments. From a N42Billion domestic debt in 2015(debt accumulated in 16yrs), under 4yrs, Mr Bello has plunged us into a N105billion debt( according to Debt Management Office) with no commensurate human or physical development to show for it. No capital projects worthy of being brandished as a 21st century infrastructural achievement. He couldn't even rebuild the iconic roundabouts he demolished over 3yrs ago in the capital city. It's one of the biggest let down of the current govt in Kogi. It cost less than 15mill to put up an iconic roundabout. How difficult can it be? No vision. No sense of leadership. The whole idea is to plunder!

How do you earn N11billion in IGR , over N70billion in annual Fed Allocation, yet fail to sort an annual wage bill of about N34billion?
The state has been using CBN loans and Paris refunds to sort salaries ( in parts) for the past 4yrs. Why would anyone think it's OK to sell a govt that does this to her own people?
Dave Umahi of Ebonyi state has proven, beyond reasonable doubt , that all it takes is commitment to good governance , to your people's welfare, with very little resources a lot can be achieved in 4yrs without incurring needless debts that will be used to fund the personal lifestyle of politicians.
Kogi can do better, Kogi should do better. Enough!
