Public office holders are unpatriotic - House of Reps Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila - Edoman - 09-27-2019 Public office holders are unpatriotic - House of Reps Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila House of Representatives Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila has blamed Nigeria's socio-economic misfortune in the power sector on public officer holders who according to him are unpatriotic. Speaking at the commencement of the investigative hearing into the federal government’s abandoned power projects from 1999 to date in which he was represented by Chief Whip Mohammed Monguno (APC-Borno), the speaker stated that the issues in the power sector persists because public officers are not patriotic enough in the discharge of their responsibilities to the nation. Quote:“You will agree with me that from 1999 to date, the National Assembly has appropriated huge sums of monies in the power sector and there are lots and much to be desired from the sector. Gbajabiamila averred that it is time it's time to correct the ills affecting the country as Nigerians are leaving every day in search of stable electricity supply, good medical health facilities, quality education among others.
