Omoyele Sowore arrested by DSS

Omoyele Sowore, the publisher of Sahara Reporters, has been arrested by men of the Department of State Security, DSS.
 
According to reports by Sahara Reporters, Omoyele was arrested in his apartment in the early hours of today Saturday August 3rd. The DSS invaded his apartment with four trucks, seizing his phones and other electronic gadgets. His whereabouts is currently unknown.
 
Sowore posted a distress tweet at exactly 1:25 am with an eyewitness confirming that his phone was forcefully taken from him. His tweet reads
Quote: " DSS invades Sowore's".
 
His arrest might not be unconnected with the #RevolutionNow which he is spearheading. #RevolutionNow is a series of planned protests against bad governance in Nigeria scheduled for August 5, 2019.
 
Sowore was the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress during the 2019 election.

#FreeSowore: Nigerians call out President Buhari over Omoyele Sowore's arrest by DSS

The hashtag #FreeSowore is the number trending topic on Nigerian Twitter at the moment and it comes after the arrest of human rights activist and pro-democracy campaigner, Omoyele Sowore by operatives of the Department of State Services.  
 
The DSS invaded Sowore’s apartment in the early hours of Saturday, August 3rd 2019 with four trucks, seizing his phones and other electronic gadgets. His whereabouts is currently unknown. Sowore’s #RevolutionNow campaign has gained national and international attention in the last couple of days following a planned nationwide protest scheduled for Monday, August 5th.
 
Using Freesowore hashtag on Twitter, many Nigerians slammed President Buhari for trying to use the DSS to silence Sowore.

A few hours ago, operatives of the Department of State Services arrested pro-democracy activist and the convener of #RevolutionNow Protests, Omoyele Sowore .
 
According to reports, Sowore was picked up at his apartment at about 1am this morning and he managed to post a distress tweet at exactly 1:25 am with an eyewitness confirming that his phone was forcefully taken from him.  
The tweet read, " DSS invades Sowore's".
 
Deji Adeyanju has now taken to Twitter to share his conversation with a 'Lagos SUG leader' who reportedly witnessed the arrest.
