He departed Nigeria on April 25th. He was received at the airport by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation SGF, Boss Mustapha and other government functionaries. Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, said this in a statement he released shortly after President Buhari returned to the country on Sunday after his ten days private visit to London. According to Adesina, President Buhari's timely return has put an end to the speculations that he was sick. He added that the reports which said the president would extend his visit has also been proven as fake, adding that all those reports were vain imaginations of those he called “apostles of evil”.
