The Presidency has stated that President Buhari can rule the country from anywhere in the world. Senior Special Assistant to the President, Garba Shehu, said this while reacting to the recent 10-day private visit President Buhari embarked upon to the UK on Wednesday April 24th.

Garba in an interview with Punch, added that President Buhari can rule from anywhere in the world, and he did not need to inform the National Assembly, so long as his absence was for a short period. It further stated that the president while in the UK could exercise his authority, since his absence would only last for 10 days and not up to 21 days.
Quote:“Section 145 (1)(2) of the 1999 Constitution saying “ This is a relatively short absence. If you check Section 145 (1) and (2) of the Constitution, you will see that the law is only infringed upon when such absence extends to 21 days.” Garba said
