A British aid worker has been confirmed dead after she was shot by kidnappers in Kaduna.
The woman who the British High Commission identified as Faye Mooney was among two people shot dead as the armed kidnappers stormed a party at a holiday resort late on Friday.
The armed gang also killed a Nigerian man and reportedly kidnapped three others after gaining entry to the Kajuru Castle Resort in Kaduna State.

According to Daily Mail, the aid worker, 29, from Manchester, who was employed in Nigeria by a non-governmental organisation called Mercy Corps, traveled from Lagos as a tourist and was attending a party before the incident happened.

Neal Keny-Guyer, Chief Executive Officer of Mercy Corps said they are 'heartbroken' at the loss of the 'dedicated' Faye Mooney.

He said: 'Faye was a dedicated and passionate communications and learning specialist who had worked with Mercy Corps for almost two years, devoting her time to making a difference in Nigeria, supporting our teams and the communities we work with to tell their stories of impact, and leading efforts to counter hate speech and violence.

A graduate of University College London and the London School of Economics who had taught in Iraq and worked in Kosovo to combat human trafficking, Faye was deeply committed to fostering cross-cultural collaboration and was an inspiration to us all.'
There has been no claim of responsibility for the incident and the kidnappers have yet to be identified, police said.
Mooney was employed in Nigeria by a non-governmental organisation called Mercy Corps. Her next of kin have been notified, the British High Commission said.

'Some suspected kidnappers armed with dangerous weapons gained entry into a recreational resort called Kajuru Castle in Kajuru local government area shooting sporadically and in the process shot dead two persons, including an expatriate lady, and took away three others,' Kaduna state police spokesman said.
'We are engaging with the Nigerian authorities, and we understand an investigation is underway,' the British High Commission said in a statement.

Two people were killed and three kidnapped when gunmen invaded Kajuru Castle in Kajuru Local Government, Kaduna State, on Friday, April 19.
The deceased have been identified as Mathew Danjuma Oguche - a Nigerian - and his British girlfriend Faye Mooney, 29, an aid worker in Nigeria.
27-year-old Matthew, a Kogi State native, was a staff of the International NGO Safety Organisation (INSO). Before his untimely demise, Oguche was involved in the delivery of personal safety and hostile environment awareness courses to NGOs, INSO said.

INSO said in a statement: "It is with great sadness that we confirm the death of our friend and colleague, Matthew Oguche in Friday’s attack at Kajuru Castle in Kaduna state, Nigeria.
"Seen as the ‘little brother’ of the training team, Matthew was a kind, intelligent and outward-looking young man with a passion for learning and a deep commitment to helping others.
"He had a lot of life ahead of him and will be deeply missed across the organisation and wider community.
"Our thoughts are with his family, loved ones and many colleagues at this difficult time."

He represented Nigeria and West Africa at the 2017 Youth Agriculture Summit in Brussels, Belgium.
Oguche also worked as a humanitarian affairs intern at Emergency Coordination Centre, Abuja between May 2017 and July 2017. He was a programme assistant at Mercy Corps between July 2017 and January 2018. Mooney was working with Mercy Corps before her death.
Oguche was also a volunteer with Family Life and Hiv Education and Aid for Rural Education Access Initiative(AREAi) between in 2015 and 2016 respectively.
