Police team from the Divisional Headquarters, Ekpan in Uvwie local government area of Delta state, led by the Divisional Police Officer, SP Ibok Asamanyi, have arrested a man  petending to be a Army Major.
The suspect, who was identified as Blessing Emelor of Isoko, was arrested on April 6, 2019, in Warri.
According to police authorities, luck ran against him on the fateful day, as he gave an order to unsuspecting junior Nigerian Air Force (NAF) personnel to shoot, which almost led to loss of life of a passerby.
The incident was reported to the police authority, which eventually led to the arrest of the purported Major.
The Command’s spokesman, ASP Chuks Orisewezie, in a statement revealed that the suspect had been camouflaging for the past three (3) years, to endear him to unsuspecting members of the public and to enjoy ‘Espirit–De-Corps’ from members of the Armed Forces and the Police.
The suspect, who had confessed to the crime, is presently with the State Criminal Investigation Department, Asaba and would be charged to court upon conclusion of investigation, ASP Orisewezie said.
