Extremely Graphic Photos: 17 including women and children killed in fresh Kajuru atta - Edoman - 03-11-2019 Extremely Graphic Photos: 17 including women and children killed in fresh Kajuru attack At least 17 persons were killed in fresh attack on Ungwan Barde in Kajuru local government area of Kaduna state by gunmen in the early hours of Sunday, March 10.   It was gathered that the massacre followed the death of a man identified as Danbuzu Beni who was killed on Saturday, as he went to his farm after voting.   When some members of the community noticed his absence they decided to send a team of five persons to go and search for him    On their way, the team met some armed men who asked them to go back, leading to an exchange between the two groups.   According to reports, as the five persons, who were on bikes turned to go, they were given hot chase by the armed men and in the process, four escaped but one of them fell and has not been seen since yesterday.   Later the gunmen trailed the villagers to their community and attacked the village on Sunday morning, killing 16 persons including children.       The Kaduna State Govt also confirmed the attack at Ungwan Barde community and extended it's sympathy to the community and the families of the victims.   "Heads of security agencies in Kaduna state have informed Governor Elrufai of an attack on Ungwan Barde community by unknown bandits.l, today, 10th March" the statement reads.   "The government condemns this violent attack and extends it's sympathy to the families of the victims and the entire community. The security agencies have informed the Governor that measured are being taken to contain the situation and secure the general area. More troops have been deployed to the community while the Nigerian Air Force personnel are carrying out aerial surveillance and reconnaissance. The security agencies will provide further updates. The Governor has also directed the State Emergency Management Agency to proceed to the community for immediate assessment and delivery of relief materials. Read his post Below:      I am heartbroken right now, not because of the elections but because of the massacre of my people in Ungwan Barde Kajuru yesterday.  As I type this post,  Ikirimi village in Iri and Dogon Noma village  in ungwan Gamo of Maro , all in Kajuru LG are under attack right  now.   I am deeply saddened by these sad developments.   May the souls of the massacred rest in peace.   See graphic photos below... Viewers discretion advised.   by Linda RE: Extremely Graphic Photos: 17 including women and children killed in fresh Kajuru atta - Edoman - 03-12-2019 Police Confirm Killing of 16 People in Kajuru Community Attack Tuesday, March 12, 2019  NEW                               The Kaduna State Police Command has confirmed the killing of 16 people last Sunday in Angwan Barde, Kajuru Local Government Area (LGA) of the state by unknown gunmen. The police confirmation came as another community, Anguwan Gora also in Kajuru LGA reportedly came under attack yesterday evening. Spokesman of the state police command, Yakubu Sabo, said: “Last Sunday at about 7.30 a.m., some unknown armed men entered Barde village under Maro in Kajuru Local Government Area and started shooting sporadically which resulted in the death of 16 persons.” He said upon receiving information on the incident, the command mobilised teams of police operatives to the area led by Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Kajuru, alongside military personnel with a view to apprehending the perpetrators and bringing normalcy to the area. He said the operation was still ongoing, adding however that the situation has been brought under control. Sabo said investigation was in progress, stressing that the state Commissioner of Police, Ahmad Abdurrahman, has vowed to uncover the masterminds of the dastardly act and bring them to justice. The statement appealed for calm and extended condolences to the families of those who are affected by carnage. However, the police spokesman could not confirm the latest attack on Anguwan Gora, saying he was still trying to find out and get back to Akelicious as at press time.
