Kogi women took to the streets on Saturday February 16, to protest the renewed political violence that has claimed the lives of residents in Ihima community, Okehi local government area of Kogi state.
The protest comes after 15 houses were burnt in the area and many were injured in an act of politically-motivated violence.
During the protest, the women cursed the desperate politicians who sponsored the violence. They went on to call for peace in the land.
In a video shared online, Hajia Abisetu, while speaking on behalf of the women, said their children have been killed in the violence allegedly sponsored by Okehi Administrator and Commissioner for water resources, Salami Ozigi, adding that they don’t want more of their children to be killed.
