The protesting Shi'ites are demanding the unconditional release of their leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky as well as his wife Zeenat. El-Zakzaky has been in detention since December 2015 after members of his sect clashed with men of the Nigerian Army in Zaria, Kaduna state.

Pastor tortures 10-year-old boy with an electric iron

A pastor has been arrested and paraded for torturing a 10-year-old boy with an electrical iron.

Pastor Emmanuel, 34, who works with the Eagles Prophetic Gospel Centre in Gombe State, was paraded alongside 15 other criminal suspects.

The pastor is accused of child cruelty for inflicting physical injuries on 10-year-old Daniel James. The pastor accused his victim of theft, hence the cruel punishment meted out on him.

The pastor told Daily Sun that 10-year-old James was the son of an ex-prostitute who had become a born again Christian thanks to evangelism carried out by his church.

Pastor Emmanuel said: "The 10-year-old boy committed a crime of stealing, which has been his habitual character. So, on that day, I took another dimension of punishment; I used electric iron to threaten him and it burnt him."

He added that he took the kid to come and live with him after the church helped his mother find a place to live and a business to sustain herself and her elder son who is 19-year-old.

"They lived close to an Almajiri School and the boy always had a problem with the Almajiris. So, I took him to live with me. I made a mistake of not reporting him to the police. I always report his character to the mother before I decide to punish him on my own. In the church, everybody knew me to be a very disciplined man."

Police spokesperson Obed Mary Malum confirmed that the suspect has confessed to using a hot electric iron to burn the 10-year-old boy in different parts of his body. The police says the preacher will soon be prosecuted in court.

Long time friends who served as page boy and little bride at a wedding, ended up becoming husband and wife recently.

Their wedding took place recently, and the bride, Brenda, shared the photos on her Instagram page today with the caption;

Quote:''My #flashbackfriday puts forth the story of my life.... who would have known that this would happen.
From being little bride and groom, from being just family friends, from being the only older person I knew to help me with the kids that would bully me in primary school, we're now husband and wife.

My parents and hubby's were friends long before I existed this had nothing to do with an arranged marriage, because we became an item officially 2 years ago because I and my family relocated and we lost contact till 2013, thanks to FB and BBM. Just look at my dad carrying my husband in his arms not knowing he'd become his son inlaw 27 years l8r. Jehovah was definitely involved and were indeed grateful''.

Nigerian comedian 'Mc Fine' arrested in Abuja for spreading 'fake news'

The Nigerian police command on Thursday, October 3rd said they arrested an Abuja based comedian, Augustine Valentine, popularly known as `MC Fine’, over alleged spread of fake news.

Biodun Makanjuola, Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the force in Bwari, FCT, said Valentine posted a false report on facebook alleging the apprehension of a female kidnapper. “After investigation, we found the report to be fake,” he said.

The middle-aged woman, simply identified as Zulai, was attacked on Wednesday, around Zenith Bank area in Bwari, over the suspicion that she attempted to kidnap a two-year-old male child. The Police, who were quick to intervene, arrested the woman and, during investigation, found out that she was physically and psychologically unstable.

The DPO said while the investigation was going on, Valentine posted a misleading information on the incident, on the social media platform.

Quote:“When she was brought here, I asked my people to first take her to the General Hospital for medicals. They came back with a medical report indicating that she was suffering from depression.
The report also referred her to Karu Psychiatric Hospital for proper evaluation. Right now, we are preparing to take her there.
“We were still on the matter when I started receiving calls about a post on Facebook claiming that the woman was a kidnapper. The report claimed that her phone had message conversations on how many children to be kidnapped.
I made efforts and finally discovered who posted the story, brought him here for questioning, and he confessed he only added some of the details to add glamour to the story.”
The DPO, while expressing displeasure over the incident, cautioned against spreading unverified news, pointing out that such actions could  cause negative impact on people involved and result into security breach in the affected community. “We are working with the affected families to douse the tension. This town can be volatile, so we are not taking anything for granted,” he said.

Valentine, who regretted his action, admitted that he was not at the scene of the incident when it occurred on Wednesday. According to him, the pictures and the alleged story were sent to him via Whatsapp, a social media platform, by an unknown number. He had earlier raised a fake alarm, through his Facebook account, that a woman was caught in Bwari attempting to steal a child who was playing with his mates around the Bwari market.

Valentine, on Facebook, claimed  that “the crowd gathered, checked her phone which revealed how many children she was asked to provide by her accomplices”.

PDP’s Dubai meeting is meant to destabilize President Buhari’s government - Adams Oshiomhole

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole has alleged that the recent meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) was meant to create disharmony in the governance of Nigeria.

Oshiomhole has also stated that the Nigerian borders with neighbouring countries should remain closed until they comply with ECOWAS protocols. The APC chairman made the allegation against the PDP Thursday, October 3rd while addressing journalists after a reconciliatory meeting with aggrieved Bayesla State’s governorship aspirants held at the party secretariat in Abuja.

Quote:He said: “Let me also say that, watching the news and reading the papers over the period, we see that the meeting that PDP held in Dubai, part of the decision they took at those meetings was to come back home and begin to throw bag of lies and untruth with a view to creating distraction and even creating disharmony within the governance of Nigeria.”
Oshiomhole also said he was surprised that the PDP dragged the judiciary into the murky waters of politics. Oshiomhole said that he was shocked that the PDP and its agent, the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), claimed during a press conference that the new judges that are about to be appointed were to favour the ruling party at the supreme court.

He noted, “Now the question is, should the supreme court be denied the appointment of all the judges they need; should we say because election matters are in tribunal, Supreme court judges should not be appointed?”  The national chairman stressed that the main opposition party was already in its old traditional way, seeking to infiltrate, to dictate and blackmail the judiciary

He also completely disassociated himself and members of his party from from 2023 presidential election posters.  He added, “I stand here as National Chairman of APC not only to deny those posters as they affect me, but to deny those posters as they affect any leader of our party because it is not yet time. Even people who may have ambition are aware that this is not the time.”

In another development, Oshiomhole has said that Nigerian borders with neighbouring countries should remain closed until they comply with ECOWAS protocols. He stated this when he paid a solidarity visit to the office of the Comptroller-General of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), retired Col. Hameed Ali yesterday in Abuja.

He explained that his party is strongly in support of the border closure and all other reforms being carried out by the service adding that such action should be sustained for the economic growth of the country. He said the APC under his leadership is impressed and has resolved to identify with the NCS on the feat recorded so far.
Quote:“The state must have control over the economy and Nigeria is absolutely right in taking the decision having been victims of expired rice brought in through the porous borders. It is a shame that after spending much to reposition agriculture, we still allow people to import expired rice into our country.
“We are lucky to have a president who told us to consume what we produce in the country in order to grow our economy. People are complaining that the prices of food commodities have gone up. Our farmers should make money from their sweat. Over the years, farmers got a good harvest, sometimes with right prices but smugglers often crash the prices,” he said.
The APC chairman urged Nigerians to go into farming and take advantage of the current good price of food produce.

A young woman is questioning whether her mother is really her biological mother after she flogged her brutally for going to make her hair.

Instagram user, Vanessa, claims she took permission before leaving home. Yet, when she returned from the salon, her mother flogged her.

The flogging was so extreme that the young woman was left with red cane marks on her back, shoulder, and stomach.

Nigerian hacker Olumide Ogunremi arraigned in US for $1m scam

Olumide Ogunremi, a Nigerian who lived in the Newark area of the United States is currently in custody for helping to run a computer hacking and identity theft scheme that ordered about $1 million in office products after stealing personal information from U.S. government workers.

Ogunremi, who also went by the name “Tony Williams,” faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted of a single count of wire fraud, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for New Jersey said in a statement.

He was docked in a Federal court on Thursday, October 3rd and pleaded not guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. According to a report by nj.com Ogunremi and his cohorts tricked employees of the U.S. Department of Environmental Protection and the U.S. Department of Commerce into divulging their usernames and passwords by creating fake websites and sending phony emails that mimic legitimate government sites and email addresses, authorities said.

They then used the stolen credentials to place fraudulent orders for office products mainly printer toner cartridges from vendors authorized to do business with government agencies. Ogunremi and his partners had their orders delivered to associates in New Jersey where the goods would be repackaged and shipped to Nigeria to be re-sold on the black market.

The scam operated for about six months in 2013. Ogunremi, who fled to Canada, was extradited to the United States on Sept. 26 and charged two days later. He is being held in New Jersey without bail. One of Ogunremi’s co-conspirator’s, Abiodun Adejohn, previously pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud conspiracy, and was sentenced to three years in prison in May 2015. Phishing attacks are the most common form of cyberattacks faced by the federal government.

Pentagon email systems, for example, thwart some 36 million phishing-related emails each day. In recent months, agencies have taken a proactive approach, alerting the public of potential phishing schemes before they blow up. In August, the IRS publicized a phishing scheme where fraudsters had created a website similar to IRS.gov in hopes of spreading malware to taxpayers. In June, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency warned the public that bad actors were purporting to send notification from the cyber agency in another effort to spread malware.

Quote:Pretoria: Protesters demand Nigerian President Buhari “takes a DNA test” [video]

As police clashed with protesters outside the Union Buildings in Pretoria, Nigerian President Buhari faced a raft of strange accusations on Thursday.

in Offbeat

Granted, things get a little crazy with politics in South Africa. But it seems our Nigerian brothers and sisters are taking things one step further. As President Buhari came to give a speech in Pretoria following last month’s xenophobic riots, he was met with an altogether different kind of confrontation at the Union Buildings.

Protesters had gathered outside of the iconic landmark to make their voices heard. But those within earshot might have had to do a double-take when they clocked what the demonstrations were about. The group were demanding that Buhari addresses them immediately – and, while he’s at it, volunteer for a DNA test.

Why Nigerians want Buhari to take a DNA test

No, this isn’t a very continental episode of Jerry Springer. And it’s nothing to do with baby-mama drama. That would all be too simple. Instead, the protesters who rocked up outside the Union Buildings firmly believe that Muhammadu Buhari is either a clone, or has been replaced by a man called Jubril from Sudan.

The government have been openly accused of being complicit in a conspiracy by Biafran activist Nwannekaenyi “Nnamdi” Kenny Okwu Kanu. Kanu is a leading member of the Indigenous People of Biafra, a separatist group that seeks political autonomy for the Igbo speaking people of Southern Nigeria.

Watch protesters label the Nigerian President an “imposter”:

The IPOB were on top form again this Thursday:

Police use full force against protesters outside the Union Buildings

However, with conspiracy theories aside, things did get seriously heated during Buhari’s address. The civil disruptors were dispered by stun grenades and rubber bullets. It has been reported that one of the Biafrans – a Nigerian national – was wounded in the leg and he’s currently receiving medical treament.

Buhari in South Africa

Buhari said in his speech that he stood in solidarity with Ramaphosa in ensuring that xenophobic violence does not break out again. Buhari called on the South African government to learn from Nigeria, in how they dealt with the perpetrators nabbed for instigating the violence against South African businesses.

The Nigerian President will hold a ‘town hall’ meeting with Nigerian expats on Friday, where he will get an opportunity to hear about the traumas that his people have suffered since the xenophobic violence broke out.

What is a Biafran?

Biafra, officially the Republic of Biafra, was a state in West Africa which existed from 30 May 1967 to January 1970; it was made up of the states in the Southern Region of Nigeria. People from this region identify with the old nation. The original declaration of independence from Nigeria resulted in civil war between Biafra and Nigeria.

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has described as barbaric and disgraceful the attack by South African police against peaceful IPOB protesters.

IPOB said that the action signified proof that state sanctioned politics of savagery has taken firm hold in the administration of the country’s President, Cyril Ramaphosa.

A statement on Thursday by IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful, said: “A thoroughly ugly and distasteful development that pales white apartheid regime into insignificance in terms of its brutality and incredulity.

“We hereby place it on record that President Muhammadu Buhari on whose account Cyril Ramaphosa ordered his police to open fire on peaceful Biafran protesters will never know peace, neither will Abba Kyari’s cabal in Aso Rock that have reduced Nigeria to an archetypal impoverished, backward 19th century Fulani emirate.

“Let them know that Buhari will be disgraced, hounded and exposed in every country he sets foot upon even if it happens to be in totalitarian glorified Banana republics in Africa.

The crass display of primitive police brutality and anti-democratic antecedents of the South African police is confirmation, if any is needed, that black Africa is hopeless and doomed.”

IPOB further said that its leader will in a night broadcast on Radio Biafra at give  an in-depth examination and analysis of the unfolding events in South Africa and the conspiracy of silence designed to protect the identity of Jubril Al-Sudani at all cost in return for subsidised crude oil from Biafraland.

Nigerian army release 25 children suspected of having links with Boko Haram

The Nigerian army has annoounced the release of 25 children who were suspected to have had links with Boko Haram, to the United Nations Children’s Fund and Borno State Government.

The children said to be 23 boys and two girls were released after they were cleared of ties to the insurgents, bringing the total number of children released this year to 44. They were said to be between the ages of 8-15 and reportedly abducted by Boko Haram insurgents during their attacks.

Maj. Gen. Olusegun Adeniyi, the head of the military counter-insurgency in the North-East (Operation Lafiya Dole) said some of the released children escaped from their abductors and found their way to troops’ locations.

Quote:He said, “Children associated with insurgency are commonly subjected to abuse and most of them witnessed killings and sexual violence.
“Regardless of how they are recruited and the roles they played, their part ovation bears serious implications for their physical and emotional well-being.
“Therefore, their rehabilitation and reintegration into civilian life is an essential part of our effort in partnership with other stakeholders to help them rebuild their lives.”
Adeniyi added, “The children seated here today have been adequately profiled and their roles with Boko Haram ascertained as supportive and non-violent. Some of them are children whose parents were arrested for terrorist offences and there is no justification to keep them in detention alongside their parents.”

The UNICEF Nigeria Acting Representative, Pernille Ironside said the released children will undergo skill acquisition trainings and also access medical and psychosocial support to improve their livelihood.

Quote:“These are children taken away from their families and communities, deprived of their childhood, education, health-care, and of the chance to grow up in a safe and enabling environment. UNICEF will continue working to ensure that all conflict affected children are reunited with their families, have hope of fulfilling their dreams and their human rights.
“They will access medical and psychosocial support, education, vocational training and informal apprenticeships, and opportunities to improve their livelihoods" she added.

Daily Devotional for Friday 4th October

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

FRIDAY, 4TH OCTOBER.

HIS POWER AT WORK IN YOU

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen (Ephesians 3:20-21).

The Holy Spirit is the creator; He’s the doer of God’s work. Everything God does is through the power of the Holy Spirit, who today, lives in us and is active in and through us.

From the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came to the earth to carry out His ministry, and He’s been here ever since. So, today, God isn’t working or “doing” anything for us from heaven; He does whatever you ask or desire of Him according to His power at work in you. The Bible says He has ceased from all His works (Hebrews 4:10).

What about Jesus? Is He in heaven working? No; He’s seated; resting (Ephesians 1:20). That means when people pray and ask God for things, and believe He’s “doing” something about it, He really isn’t. However, we do understand when a miracle happens that it’s His power at work.

Think about it this way: when the government of any nation does something, credit or blame is given to the president. But the president had nothing to do with it in essence; the designated offices were responsible for the work, based on the authority given to them by the president. However, we may give credit to the president, because it’s his policies and authority that effected it.

Likewise, the power of God is available to you, and through that power, God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that you can ask or think. He can do far beyond your requests, expectations, and imaginations, through His power inside you. Become God-inside conscious. Recognize and use His awesome power at work in you to your advantage. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you, for you’re the one at work in me, both to will and to do of your good pleasure. I’m sensitive to your leading and guidance, and by your grace through the Spirit, nothing is impossible to me. I can do all things through your mighty power at work in me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

#AFFIRMATIONTRAIN

4TH OCTOBER.

I affirm that I am in office now! Therefore, the influence of the devil and his demons are broken in my world. Like Jesus, I saw the devil fall like a lightning and he had no dwelling in my world. I’ve been given authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and upon all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt me. Hallelujah! I am not under servitude to any attitude, habit, addiction or lifestyle that is inconsistent with God’s perfect will for me.

I allow the Word to have full control over my spirit, soul, and body; I have the ability to make the right judgments and choices. I am a blessing to my world, ordained and chosen of God to manifest His glory, wisdom, and excellence. I function today as a burning and shining light; making the Name of Lord known, and turning men and women from wickedness unto righteousness.

This is my purpose, which I live daily to fulfill. In my path today, I refuse to allow the inadequacies of others rub-off on me or change my disposition. I am who God says I am; a bright light, shining in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation. With the Word of God, my mind is constantly renewed and I walk in God’s perfect will for me. Glory to God. Hallelujah!

God bless you

Five years after the abduction of 219 school girls, Chibok school remains shut

Over five years after the abduction of 219 schoolgirls and the burning of the school, the Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, is still under lock and key as pupils now receive lessons at a primary school nearby.

Boko Haram insurgents had on April 14, 2014 stormed the school dormitory and forcefully abducted over 200 girls, but 57 of the girls escaped and found their way back home. The Federal Government subsequently negotiated with the abductors and freed over 100 girls, leaving 112 others in captivity for the past 1,998 days.

A member of the Kibaku Area Development Association in Abuja, Dr. Manasseh Allen, on Wednesday, October 2nd bemoaned the failure of the Federal Government to rescue the remaining 112 girls in Boko Haram captivity, almost 2,000 days after the insurgents stormed their dormitories and forcefully took them away.

Allen noted that the government had not offered any form of succour to the parents of the missing girls or the community as a whole. He also alleged that over 21 Chibok parents had died as a result of trauma.

Quote:He said, “Aside the presence of a military brigade in Chibok, which has been doing its best to protect the people, the government has not done anything either directly for the parents or the people. The school has neither been completed nor put into operation. It is part of the primary school that the pupils are now using. They go there in the afternoon after the primary school pupils had closed.
“If the government was serious about changing the lives of the people, the school would have been completed as a way of countering extremism.  The Federal Government should have been able to build the school to international standard, furnish it in such a way as to send a strong signal to the terrorists that they cannot cow us.”
Allen said the government could not negotiate the release of the remaining 112 girls, stressing that the release of the first batch of 100 girls was achieved through negotiation by the Department of State Services. He added, “None of the girls was rescued through military operations. We know that even if not all, most of them are still alive. If the government is serious about securing their release, it can get them alive.
Quote:“We still believe that most of the girls are alive and they want to come home. Those that were married by the insurgents are running away from the bush and coming back to civilisation. We are confident that those that were forcefully taken away will look for a way to return to their loved ones.”
The Chibok indigene said many people had fled their communities in the Chibok  Local Government Areas, following the spate of attacks by the insurgents. “I have lost count of the attacks, but they (Boko Haram) have attacked Gatamarwa more than five times, Flemagalama more than five times, and other communities. The attacks are so many that we don’t bother counting. As a result of this, many people have abandoned their farmlands and this has affected food production in the area,” Allen said.

CBN Fine 12 Banks N499b For Not Giving Out Loan To Customers
User Avatar Forum: Market Place
Posted by: Edoman - 10-04-2019, 09:26 AM - No Replies

For breaching its guidelines on lending to the real sector of the economy, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has fined 12 major banks N499.1billion.

According to an approved debit instruction, the affected banks and the amount they will pay are: Citibank (N100,743,055, 321); First Bank of Nigeria (N74,668,880,480); FBNQuest Merchant Bank (N2, 697,456,144); First City Monument Bank (FCMB), (N14, 371,064, 742) and Guaranty Trust Bank (N25, 147, 933, 628).

Others are Jaiz Bank (N7, 525, 165,552); Keystone Bank (N4, 162, 938, 879); Rand Merchant Bank (N2, 823,177,399); Standard Chartered Bank (N30,027,137,984); SunTrust Bank (N1,703,205,427); United Bank for Africa (N99,676,181,916) and Zenith Bank (N135,629,337,625).

The banks will lose the money at source from their Cash Reserve Requirement (CRR) with the CBN.

The CRR is a portion of the banks’ deposits kept with the CBN for regulatory reasons.

The apex bank, on July 3, 2019, directed banks to maintain a minimum Loan Deposit Ratio (LDR) of 60 per cent by September 30, 2019.

The LDR, which was being reviewed quarterly to improve lending to the real sector, was 58.5 per cent as at May.

It has now been raised to 65 per cent for the last quarter of the year.

A CBN circular: “Regulatory Measures to Improve Lending to the Real Sector of the Nigerian Economy,” says in order to ramp up economic growth through investment in real sector, the CBN approved that all banks should maintain a minimum LDR of 60 per cent by September 30.

Based on the guidelines, failure to meet the minimum loan to deposit ratio of 60 per cent by October 1 would attract a levy of fine which is additional CRR equal to 50 per cent of the lending shortfall of the target.

Central bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor Godwin Emefiele had said that banks that fail to meet its directive on the 60 per cent LDR would be penalised at the expiration of the deadline.

“Failure to meet the above minimum LDR by the specified date shall result in levy or additional Cash Reserve Requirement equal to 50 per cent of the lending shortfall of the target,” CBN Director, Banking Supervision, Ahmad Abdullahi, said in the July 3 circular.

The LDR policy is expected to push banks to increase lending to high risk-borrowers, with the potential of incurring heavy losses and higher non-performing loans.

To encourage SMEs, retail, mortgage and consumer lending, these sectors shall be assigned a weight of 150 per cent in computing LDR for this purpose.

Nigeria does not need 109 senators and 360 reps - Rochas Okorocha

The Senator representing Imo West at the red chamber, has launched a campaign for the reduction of lawmakers at the national assembly to cut the cost of governance.

Speaking at the plenary session on Thursday October 3, the former Governor of Imo state said the number of Senators representing each state should be reduced from three to one. He also advocated for only three house of representatives members for each state.

Quote:“What (are) three senators doing that one senator cannot do?” Okorocha asked.
“Here, we have three senators per state. Over there,(house of representatives) over there, we have 360 eligible human beings. This country must begin to make sacrifices and cut down the cost of governance.”

Okorocha also asked what the current senate is doing different from the eight senate and previous ones.

Quote:“And if what we are doing today is similar to what we did in the 8th senate be rest assured the product will be the same,” he added.
He also told Senate President Ahmad Lawan that he pleaded with him “just two days ago to change your style”, adding: “If you change your style, you will get a new result.”
“Let’s proffer solutions and not create more problems for the executives. They are waiting for us. What do we have different to show?” the senator asked.
“The summary of what we have been talking about is money, we don’t have enough funds to support the needs of Nigerians, to create jobs and put food on the table of the common man.
“This problem arises from the fact that we depend on only one source of income which is crude oil, which consists of over 50% of our revenue and 90% of our foreign reserves, ad this oil is static.
“We should look inwards. Let us cut our clothes according our materials not our sizes. The budget of Nigeria is cut according to our size not the material available, and according to the solution.”

Quote:A 344-year-old tortoise popularly known as Alagba, in the palace of the Soun of Ogbomoso, is dead.

The scared tortoise which was the oldest in Africa, was sick for a few days before her demise on Thursday.

The tortoise became a popular breed upon ascension of the throne of the current Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi with the monarch providing good shelter and health support for the tortoise during its sojourn on earth.

Confirming the incident to the Nigerian Tribune, the Private Secretary to Oba Oyewumi, Toyin Ajamu, stressed that the tortoise, which attracted people from all walks of life from Nigeria and abroad, will be greatly missed not only by the palace household but everyone who came in contact with Alagba during her lifetime.

According to Ajamu: “Alagba had lived in the palace for centuries. The tortoise played host to many monarchs in Ogbomoso in the past. Alagba became popular because Oba Oladunni Oyewumi, Soun of ogbomosoland, used his personal resources to cater for her well being.

“The tortoise had two staff members of the palace, dedicated to her. They provide food, health support and other logistics, so as to make sure she gets the best treatment. Often times, Kabiyesi shared great moments with Alagba. On a daily basis, Alagba, had tourists visiting her from different part of the world. The palace household, Ogbomoso community and stakeholders in the tourism sector are mourning Alagba’s passing. “

The palace secretary explained that plans were underway to preserve Alagba’s body for historical records.

Police have cordoned off the area in central Paris

A knife-wielding man has killed four staff at central police headquarters in Paris, French media report.

The attacker, who has not been named but is also said to be a member of staff, was later shot dead by police.

There has been no official statement so far. The area in the île de la Cité - in the centre of Paris - has been sealed off.

The attack comes a day after police went on strike across France over increasing violence towards officers.

It happened at about 13:00 local time (11:00 GMT; 12:00 BST) in the courtyard of the building.

President Emmanuel Macron, Prime Minister Edouard Philippe and Interior Minister Christophe Castaner have all gone to the site.

Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo confirmed on Twitter that "several people" had been killed in the attack, which took place near major tourist sites including the Notre-Dame cathedral.

Another person was also reportedly wounded.

According to French media, the attacker was a 45-year-old man who had worked in an administrative capacity for the Paris police force for 20 years.

They said he had been working in the police force's intelligence division.

French broadcaster BFMTV reports that he stabbed two people inside two offices, one person on a stairway and the fourth person inside the building's courtyard - where the knifeman was shot dead.

"Police were running around in panic," an eyewitness who was inside the courtyard at the time of the attack told Le Parisien newspaper.

"I was surprised to hear shooting because this is not a place where you hear that kind of thing. I first thought it was a suicide because there are a lot of those at the moment," he added.

Genbrain
African American strawberry extract (referred to as Irvingia gabonensis) is traditionally made by Dikka nuts, which consistently function as seed, which is obviously the bright-colored tropical fresh fruit which is just commonly submitted all around Cameroon, south usa. Additionally, it's been used by eras due to the medicinal advantages. And, since you probably already know, this infusion has been shown to become a highly effective fat loss supplement.

Kano Tribunal Says PDP Agent, Not Gawuna Snatched Gama Results
User Avatar Forum: General Discussion

Quote:Tribunal shocks Kano, says PDP agent, not Gawuna and Sulen-Garo, snatched disputed Gama results

Contrary to a widely held belief, the chairperson of the Kano State Governorship Election Tribunal, Halima Shamaki, on Wednesday during her ruling, made what appeared to be a shocking revelation regarding the disputed Gama Ward result sheets,

Recall that in the midnight of March 10, 2019, after the conclusion of the governorship election in the state, the police had arrested the duo of deputy governor Nasiru Gawuna and the commissioner for local government Murtala Sule-Garo for allegedly destroying result sheets in Gama Ward.

DAILY NIGERIAN gathered that the duo stormed the Nassarawa Collation Centre at 3 am on Airport Road in three SUVs and went to the collation centre and tore up the result sheets of Nassarawa Local Government.

However, while delivering judgement on the governorship election on Wednesday, Mrs Shamaki stated that the result sheet of the disputed Gama ward election was torn by an agent of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Umar Tanko-Yakasai.

In her submission, Justice Shamaki accused Mr Tanko-Yakasai of deliberately locking himself to have the opportunity of altering the result.

This submission, impliedly, vindicated Messrs Gawuna and Sulen-Garo who were caught red-handed by the police while tearing the disputed Gama Ward’s result at the Nassarawa Collation Centre.

“The carbonised copies of documentary evidences tendered by the petitioners were mostly unstamped, some are unsigned. Others contained rewritten data, hence amounted to documentary hearsay and therefore inadmissible.

“The act of self-locking up by Dr. Yakasai accorded him an opportunity to alter the snatched results,” she said.

DAILY NIGERIAN reports that on Wednesday, the tribunal dismissed the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate, Abba Kabir-Yusuf who challenged the victory of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje in the 2019 election, due to lack of merit.

Justice Shamaki also argued that INEC was right to declare the March 9 election inconclusive.

Quote:Cultist nabbed for killing 15 persons in Ogun
Published

A 28-year-old suspected cultist, Sunday Paul, has been arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly killing over 15 residents of the Ikenne area of the state.

Paul was arrested on Saturday.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the State, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Wednesday.

Oyeyemi said Paul, popularly called Blade, was the leader of the Eiye Confraternity in the area.

According to the PPRO, the suspect is an ex-convict, who was recently released from a correctional centre on a murder-related case.

Oyeyemi stated that the suspect confessed to have killed no fewer than 15 persons in the Ikenne area of the state.

The PPRO explained that Paul had been on the police wanted list for a long time before he was eventually apprehended following an intensive surveillance and technical investigation of his activities.

He added that the suspect also confessed to killing a rival cult member identified as Kabiru.

Oyeyemi said, “The police in Ogun State have arrested a one-eyed man, who is a leader of the dreaded Eiye Confraternity in Ikenne and who is responsible for the killing of a least 15 people in Ikenne and its environs.

“The suspect, Sunday Paul, aka Blade, who has been on the wanted list of the command, was arrested on September 21, 2019, following an intensive surveillance and technical investigation of his activities.

“Upon his arrest, it was discovered that he had been nabbed and charged on three different occasions and he recently came out of a correctional centre over a murder-related case.

“On interrogation, he admitted being the leader of the Eiye Confraternity in Ikenne and its environs; he equally confessed to being responsible for the killing of one Kabiru, whom he claimed to be a member of a rival cult.

“His arrest elicited wild jubilation in Ikenne and its environs.

“Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Bashir Makama, has ordered a full-scale investigation into the past activities of the suspect with a view to charging him as soon as possible."

A Kenyan man was caught exhuming his father’s body to retrieve his leather shoes.

27-year-old Patrick Mwangi Katonye was caught by members of the public, disinterring the body at around 8 am on Wednesday, October 2, in Maseno Village.

The photo above shows the disturbed grave of his late father Johnson Ndonye in Subukia, Nakuru County.

According to Nakuru Police Commander Stephen Matu, the suspect wanted to retrieve a pair of leather shoes his late father Johnson Ndonye was buried with back in 2005. The police commander said the man claimed he wanted to sell the shoes.

“The suspect told the police that he wanted to sell the shoes. He waited for members of his family to leave the home before exhuming the body but the shoe was rotten,” said Matu.

Police arrested Katonye and ordered him to be taken for psychiatric tests before being presented in court where he will be charged for disturbing the dead.

“It is wrong for anybody to exhume the dead. Such can only be done if permission is granted by a court of law. Investigations have therefore commenced after which the suspect will be arraigned,” added the police boss.

Matu said the suspect’s family requested the police to allow them to conduct prayers before reburying the body, as it is a taboo to exhume the dead.

“Police are liaising with the family and the church to rebury the body. The family requested us to allow them time to conduct some prayers and cleansing,” he said.

Kachi Nwalolo, Chukwuebuka Esoga 'Kaka' Robbers, Killers Arrested In Imo
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Edoman - 10-03-2019, 01:16 PM - No Replies

Quote:There was jubilation at the Imo State Police Command Headquarters in Owerri on Wednesday as operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad arrested two wanted suspected armed robbers and killers.

Parading the suspects, Kachi Nwalolo, 21, and Chukwuebuka Esoga, aka Kaka, 21, the Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Ladodo, said they were operating in Nigerian Army uniform.

The CP said apart from being armed robbers, the suspects were known for killing and abducting innocent persons.

Ladodo said that apart from being on the police wanted list, the suspects had also been declared wanted by the state government.

According to him, the arrest of the suspects was a major breakthrough for the command.

He commended the SARS Commander, Victor Godfrey, and his team for what he called a professional operation.

The CP expressed optimism that residents and traders at the busy Douglas Road in Owerri would now be able to rest.

Apart from guns, the CP said a Glo SIM card and three MTN SIM cards were recovered from the suspects.

Ladodo stated, “I present to you Imo’s most wanted armed robbers and serial killers in recent times. I am happy and walking tall because of this wonderful breakthrough. I commend the SARS commander, Victor Godfrey, and his team for an exceptional job.

“The suspects have made confessional statements about their involvement in robbery and killings. We seek cooperation from members of the public in our commitment to fighting criminals to a standstill in the state.”

One of the suspects, Esoga, said he wanted to see his mother so as to apologise to her for not being “a good boy.”

The suspect, who sustained gunshot injuries, said, “Please call my mother for me. I want to apologise to her for not being a son she wanted me to be. Intimidation by Owerri people led me to crime. They were always intimidating me and taking my goods on Douglas Road before I joined crime. Please bring my mother to me, I want to apologise to her.”

Similarly, the personnel of the Enugu State Police Command have arrested 15 persons across the state for committing various offences ranging from armed robbery to murder.

Parading the suspects on Wednesday at the command headquarters, Enugu, the state Commissioner of Police, Ahmad Abdur-rahman, said the arrests were made possible through intelligence-led policing measures put in place by the command to tackle insecurity in the state.

Abdur-rahman said the reason he was sent to Enugu by the Inspector-General of Police was being fulfilled, adding, “We are striving towards reducing crime to the barest minimum through proactive measures without losing sight of the respect for human rights and the rule of law.”

He gave the breakdown of how the suspects were arrested and the offences they allegedly committed.

According to him, operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad had last Friday arrested three members of an armed robbery gang that specialised in robbing mobile money agents in the state.

The suspects, Nweke Friday, 24; Ochie Fidelis, 28; and Oluchi Chinedu, 33, allegedly robbed a Point of Sale outlet at Gariki Awkunanaw and stole the sum of N6m, which they shared among themselves, but luck ran out on them when they were arrested on September 25 by SARS operatives at their hideouts.

The CP said Chinedu, a mother of six and a widow, was arrested for conspiracy, harbouring and keeping weapons for the gang members.

Other suspects paraded by the CP were Anieberi Henry, 25; Nnanna Ojike, 29; and Anieberi Ugochukwu, 20, who hail from Umulumgbe in the Udi Local Government Area of the state, for alleged armed robbery and conspiracy.

They were said to have been terrorising the community until September 29, 2019, when they were apprehended by SARS operatives at their hideouts.

Those Accusing Buhari Of Planning 3rd Term Are Stupid - Sagay

Temidayo Akinsuyi, Lagos

Afenifere, pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, on Wednesday described the statement by President Muhammadu Buhari promising to take 100 million Nigerians out of poverty in the next 10 years as a slip of tongue.

The organisation, while reacting to the suspicion among Nigerians that the President may be planning to elongate his tenure in office and the denial by the presidency, said it was a contradiction for Buhari to be talking about a 10-year programme when he has a four-year mandate.

The president, in his opening speech during the inaugural June 12 Democracy Day celebration in Abuja, had said: “In face of these challenges, our government, elected by the people in 2015 and re-elected in March, has been mapping out policies, measures, and laws to maintain our unity and at the same time lift the bulk of our people out of poverty and onto the road to prosperity.

“With leadership and a sense of purpose, we can lift 100 million Nigerians out of poverty in 10 years.”

The statement has been interpreted by some Nigerians to imply that he was planning to extend his tenure in office, especially as some groups across the country have issued statements declaring support for the president to continue in office beyond 2023.

Also, attempts by some members of the cabal to whittle down the powers of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and statements made by some northern power brokers that the presidency will remain in the region beyond 2023 has further heightened the fears of Nigerians.

Last month, a political activist, Deji Adeyanju, took to his Twitter to allege that President Buhari was planning to extend his leadership for an extra term, contrary to what the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria allowed.

“Buhari is planning a 3rd term,” Adeyanju had alleged.

Addressing the concerns on Tuesday, the presidency said there were no plans to alter the country’s constitution to allow President Buhari rule for a third term.

While calling on those nursing the idea of a third term for the president to perish the thought, Yinka Odumakin, National Publicity Secretary of Afenifere, said the error in speech made by the president is already generating suspicion in the country.

“It’s a contradiction in terms to have a four-year mandate and be talking of a 10-year programme. It was a Freudian slip, which has now generated so much suspicion in the land. The idea should be perished if it was ever contemplated,” he said.

Also sharing Afenifere’s point of view, Chief Mike Ozekhome, human rights lawyer, said the president could not be talking about himself taking the country out of poverty in the next 10 years when his constitutionally allowed term expires in 2023.

According to Ozekhome, the president could only speak on what he could do for Nigerians in three and half years’ time as there was no guarantee that even his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), could remain in power in the next 10 years.

“The president’s case is still being challenged at the court. Even if he is not removed by the Supreme Court, he can only do four years out of which he has already spent six months. So, constitutionally, President Buhari has just three and half years to go.

“So, if he is talking about taking Nigeria out of poverty in the next 10 years, from being the poverty capital of the world, having overtaken India, he may only be thinking in terms of statistics, maybe this is the time Nigeria will get out of poverty, but certainly not himself doing that as a person.

“He may also be referring to his political party, the APC, being in power in the next 10 years. But don’t forget that PDP had boasted that they will be in power for 60 years but it was terminated after 16 years in power. So, nobody knows tomorrow"..

“President Buhari should be talking about what he can do for Nigerians in the next three and half years and what he has done for Nigeria in the last four and half years.

“He cannot be talking about what he will do for Nigerians in the future when he himself will not be there as president. So, I think it is just sheer daydreaming.”

On the rumoured third term, Ozekhome urged Nigerians not to lose sleep over it, saying the agenda cannot work in Nigeria.

The PDP also on Wednesday cautioned the APC and the cabal in the Buhari presidency against plot to push a third term agenda for him.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, the party described it as a dangerous underhand politics capable of derailing the nation’s democracy and destabilising the nation.

The party berated the statements by the presidency and the APC as an unhealthy plot to introduce a repugnant issue into the official discourse in a bid to give it life and achieve its fruition in the political arena.

It lamented that it was preposterous for the presidency cabal and the APC to think that “Nigerians cannot see through their shenanigan to import and elevate what they labelled as rumour and internet-based gossip into official national discourse”.

According to the statement, “Our party notes that Nigerians will not be surprised when, after the statements by the presidency and APC, new groups surface to orchestrate more forceful agitations in the public space for the alteration of the 1999 constitution to achieve an ignoble aim.”

However, in his reaction, Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN) said it was worrisome that some Nigerians could accuse the president of plotting to stay in office beyond 2023 when all he was doing was planning a long-term vision for the country as obtained in developed countries of the world.

Sagay, who said government was a continuum, said many of the projects initiated by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) such as railway projects, the second Niger Bridge and others were being completed by President Buhari in the interest of the nation.

“Nigerians are an impossible race. You can’t do anything for them. If you don’t do anything for them, they say you are useless. If you want to do something for them, they say he wants to impose his will on us and exercise powers that he doesn’t have.

“Let me tell you, no sane government in any progressive country that hopes to develop will fail to plan for years ahead of its own existence.

“You can even have a 50-year plan. Is Buhari not completing all the railways that Goodluck Jonathan started? So many things he is doing now, such as the second Niger Bridge, was he the one who started it?

“Nigerians should not be so narrow-minded. This hatred is making people look at negative things where so many good things are involved.

“If Buhari is planning for the next 15 years, we should hail him because one of our problem is short-sightedness, short plans which can’t take us anywhere. If we have a long term plan, it means we have a vision. Remember Vision 2020?”

“It doesn’t mean that the person who is at the helm of affairs is going to be in office for eternity. We should be a bit more broad-minded and more positive in our attitude to governance.

“So, I think those who are accusing the president of planning a third term are ignorant and irresponsible. In fact, I will say they are stupid,” he said.

Revenge: Police Burn Houses In Aba, Properties Destroyed (Photos)

Abia State Government Reacts....

As many Nigerians were celebrating the country’s 59 Independence Day in joy and happiness, residents at the Ndiegoro axis of Aba, the commercial hub of Abia State were facing the watched their homes burn and looted by police officers.

Our reporter gathered that several buildings in four streets; Okojombo, Anaba, Degema and Umuosi in Ndiegoro axis were set ablaze by police officers from the Ndiegoro Police Division in a retaliation for the colleague who was killed by some suspected cultists on Friday.

There were however, two angles to the story. One had it that the fracas that led to the death of the police officer popularly known as Alhaji on Friday came after a misunderstanding between police and some drug cartel at Ndiegoro over bribe(title) they usually pay to do their illicit business.

Another angle had it that the police officers who usually extort money from innocent residents at Degema by Okojombo met a wrong group who gave them a serious fight before one of the officers and a civilian who is their driver was killed.

When ABACITYBLOG visited the scenes, it was that of anxiety and suspicion as residents whose properties and means of livelihoods were destroyed crowded the streets in tears and pains.

Ikechi Anyianuka, a victim in Degema Street told Naijawatchdog that the police has made him homeless and jobless as his workshop and home which is inside the same building at Okojombo was mercilessly burnt without a pin recovered.

“I’m homeless and jobless, thanks to the police. I don’t know what to do now. I lost all my properties because the boys that killed the police officer burnt the minibus used by the police not too far from my resident's.

“We were all afraid and don’t know what happened. Why will the Nigeria Police punish us for an offence committed by people they ought to arrest. They even went as far as Uzomkpa in Owerri-Aba axis to burn a house.

“Just check the distance of Uzomkpa to where we are and tell me if this is not a calculated attempt by police to make some persons homeless.

“They entered my friend’s shop and looted every valuable thing there and still got some of his boys arrested. I wonder when boys turned this bad. Government should save us.”

Nwachuckwu Nnamdi, said he managed to escape with his wife and three children before the police officers set their house ablaze without minding if there was still people inside.

“What happened here has no business with us that live here. Every evening when people are returning from market usually come to Okojombo junction by Degema collecting money from people.

“On Friday, they were doing the same thing around 6:15 in the evening when some group of boys from nowhere confronted them. It started with a fight when fight broke out between one of the boys and those police officers.

“Just like in the movies police began shooting but the boys didn’t have any scratch. They overpowered the officers and took their guns.

“The one that died was popularly known as Alhaji and it’s like he sustained injury during that fight and later died at Umuosi street few metres away from the scene of the fight.

“Those boys were parading the whole neighborhood until 8:30 PM without any presence of police. Immediately they left, police started entering the streets on massive arrests. From Massive arrest, the next thing we saw was burning of buildings.”

According to Madam Adaku Okpara, a victim and resident of Anaba Street, “I don’t know what we did to those police officers. We were not the ones that killed their colleagues. If police can burn, injure and loot peoples’ shops as they did in this area, then Nigeria is in trouble.

“Anaba street here is even safer, go to Okojombo and see how they ransacked homes, shops stealing bags of rice, plasma TV, Generator set, handsets, weavons, cartons of beer and clothes.

“As I speak to you, they whole landlords around Ibere street, Ibadan streets and even Onyebuchi are now living in fear as no one knows the next building the police will burn.

“The Federal and Abia State government should save us and the urge the police to fish out the real culprits because they will be somewhere waiting to attack again.

“How many buildings of innocent people will the police continue to burn? 10 persons where arrested in our compound and police took N100,000 from them.”

Kenneth Esom said that almost all the drug centres in Aba like: Orji Uzor-Kalu Bridge, Onyebuchi Street, Black Kingdom, York Street, Milverton by Park Road, Wilcox Memorial Secondary School and Over-Rail has the backing of the police.

“Police support these evil boys and whenever things go wrong they pour the blame on the public. We all know what is happening at: Uzor-Kalu Bridge, Onyebuchi Street, Black Kingdom, York Street, Milverton by Park Road, Wilcox Memorial Secondary School and Over-Rail.

“Police go to these places to collect something and whenever their business goes wrong, they come our to talk. Who does not know how notorious Ndiegoro police station is? Who does not know their history in Aba? God will not forgive them for what they did to innocent people.”

When contacted, the Abia State Police Commissioner, CP Ene Okon denied the whole story and said that the police didn’t burn any house.

Okon went further to accuse the Ndiegoro Community of harbouring criminals among them and called their actions shameful.

He went further to say that even if the police officers were collecting money from the residents, it was not enough reason for them to kill the officer.

“That community should bury their head in shame. The community should be ashamed. They’re harbouring criminals and now they’re accusing police of coming to collect money.

“Even of police came there to collect money does that warrant killing them? The group that did this where are they from? Is it not from the same community? The people burnt the buildings to cover their tracks.”

Meanwhile, the Abia State governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has reacted to the situation and urged all citizens to remain calm as his administration is on top of the situation.

Adam Thorn Allows Six-Foot Python Bite Him In Australia (Photos, Video)

This is the story of a scientist who is doing a study with his colleague on how painful bites from dangerous animals could be. They allow dangerous reptiles and creeping animals to bite them, then they rank the pains to create a pain index. Can you imagine this level of research?

Here’s the story.

A daredevil scientist could be heard screaming in pain after letting a 6ft-python bite his arm in horrifying footage.

TV presenter Adam Thorn, from Australia, needed stitches in his arm after the reptile drew blood.

In the footage, which was recorded for a new TV series, the huge snake can be seen laid on a wooden table.

As soon as the TV host, who is wearing a protective face mask, gets close to the animal, the python bites him.

A man wearing a blue t-shirt eventually pulls the snake away as blood starts to come out from the scientist’s arm.
The clip, which appeared on Mail Online, is part of History Channel’s new series “Kings of Pain”.

Flood kills polytechnic student while controlling traffic in Delta State

A polytechnic graduate identified as Chinedu Igboke fell into a manhole as rampaging flood swept him away into Anwai River in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

He was said to have been controlling traffic at the Akpo junction along Okpanam road on Monday evening when he mistakenly stepped into an uncovered drain and fell into the gutter. The flooding, which was as a result of the torrential rain that pounded the capital city throughout the day, rendered many people homeless.

According to reports, the deceased who was in his thirties, hailed from Ebonyi State, and was working as a security guard in a private school along Shekinah Love Assembly Street, off Ralph Uwechue Way, Okpanam Road, Asaba.

An Eyewitness who spoke with Vanguard said the deceased was directing traffic which built up on Shekinah Love Assembly Street following the gridlock along Okpanam road, when he mis-stepped and fell into the uncovered gutter along the earth road.

The spot where he was said to have fallen was almost overgrown with weeds, but the gutter was filled with water when Igboke fell into it. Before help could come, he had already floated into the deep tunnel which channels storm water from the area into Anwai River.

Quote:The eyewitness said, “When he fell into the water, he slammed his head against the concrete walls of the gutter. So he might have lost strength to swim against the tide before being floated helplessly into the tunnel”
“The school authority where Igboke worked as a security guard, mobilised divers and swimmers to comb Anwai Rivers. We suspect that the body might be hanging somewhere along this tunnel because of blockade inside. We went with them to the river but they could not recover his body”.

Iron Core Edge If you cannot find information on what increase in length you can expect then do not order. You must have some idea or benchmark to stand by, and know if your purchase is working the way it was meant to. Semen Enhancement: Another reason many men purchase enhancement pills is for an increase in the volume of their semen when they ejaculate. There are a few enhancement pills that deliver a nice increase in volume, but most do not. So be sure that you purchase an enhancement pill that can increase your semen volume and potency. This will add to the overall pleasure of sex, making it literally more "explosive". Ingredients: https://top10guider.com/iron-core-edge/

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

THURSDAY, 3RD OCTOBER.

UNDERSTANDING THE RULES OF PRAYER

And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint (Luke 18:1).

Why does God want us to always pray? It’s because it’s His intention to always answer our prayers. This should excite you to always pray; to take advantage of the privilege and opportunity of prayer, which, essentially, is a Spirit-to-spirit communication in divine fellowship

Sadly, what many know about prayer is asking God for things. They see prayer as an avenue to beg or “force” God to do something for them, as though He’s unwilling. But that’s not the purpose of prayer. God isn’t against us; so, when we pray, we’re not trying to convince Him to do something He’s not inclined to do. Rather, we’re siding with Him in bringing His will to pass.

Furthermore, the Bible shows that there’re different kinds of prayer, with different rules governing each kind. Most Christians are acquainted with the prayer of faith. The prayer of faith is quick; it’s the kind of prayer you can pray on the go. But there’re lots of issues and challenges in this world that won’t go away by the prayer of faith. Such situations or issues require some passionate supplication for the desired change to take place. We read about this kind of prayer in James 5:16-18 (AMPC); it’s heartfelt and continued.

You may say, “But prayer is prayer”; no, prayer isn’t just prayer. You can’t apply the rules for the prayer of faith for the prayer of intercession; it won’t work. It’s one of the reasons people don’t have answers to their prayers; they’re praying the wrong way about their situation.

If, for example, any football player other than the team’s goalkeeper, within his own penalty area, deliberately handles the ball when in play, such a player will be penalized. The referee won’t overlook the infringement, because you can’t apply handball or basketball rules to football.

Study the Word to know, and apply the right rules for the different kinds of prayers and you’ll surely have results. Get our books titled, “How To Pray Effectively” and “Praying The Right Way” to learn more about the different kinds of prayer and their corresponding rules. They’ll enrich your prayer life.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for the privilege and opportunity of prayer. I declare that your Word grows mightily and prevails around the world, and that the wicked acts, schemes, policies and stratagems of Satan are frustrated. Even now, I affirm by the Holy Ghost, that the earth is being filled with the knowledge of your glory, as the waters cover the sea, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

#TALKINGSESSION

3RD OCTOBER.

KINDLY SAY THESE WORDS OUT LOUD.

Thank You Father, for I know that the devil and the cohorts of hell have been defeated, paralyzed, and rendered completely powerless. I have been given the authority and made superior to them in Christ!

Now, I walk in my victory over Satan, sin, sickness, disease and death! I thank You for the power
of Your Word, and its ability to transform, purify, strengthen me, and build my faith strong! I give no room to doubt and unbelief, but believe and receive Your truths always!

My heart is continually being purified and enlightened by Your Word, and Satan has nothing in me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

God bless you

EFCC re-arrests fugitive Internet fraudster who escaped after he was granted bail

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Ilorin Zonal office on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 re-arraigned a 32 year-old man, Abolarin Kayode before Justice Sikiru Oyinloye of Kwara State High Court, sitting in Ilorin.

Kayode was arraigned on seven-count charges, bordering on internet fraud and other fraud-related offences. It could be recalled that the defendant was initially arraigned sometime in February 2019 before Justice Babagana Ashigar of Federal High Court, Ilorin but absconded after he was granted bail.

However, his luck ran out sometime in August as EFCC operatives traced him to Government Reserved Area (G.R.A.) Ilorin where he was rearrested.

Quote:One of the charge reads, "That you, Abolarin Kayode (alias Lauren Saint) on or about the 6th day of February 2019, in Ilorin within the jurisdiction of the High Court of Kwara State, with intent to defraud, had in your possession a document containing false pretence, to wit, an email titled “Paid to drive initiative by your Budweiser,” which you sent to one Chad Bakichan American citizen through your acclaimed email laurensaint345@gmail.com, a representation you knew to be false and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 6 read along with Section 8 of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act 2006 and punishable under Section 1 of the same Act."
On his re-arraignment today, he pleaded not guilty to the charges, prompting prosecution counsel, Nnaemeka Omewa to ask the court for a trial date and for him to be remanded in prison custody. In his response, counsel to the defendant, Mr I. Abdulazeez pleaded with the court to remand his client in the custody of the EFCC, which was refused by the judge.

Justice Oyinloye adjourned the matter to October 17, 2019 and ordered that the defendant be remanded in prison.

EFCC arrests four INEC officials for an alleged case of conspiracy, breach of trust and criminal diversion of N84million

The Sokoto Zonal Office of EFCC has arrested Hassan Sidi Aliyu, AdministrativeSecretary, Hussain Jafar Head of Operations, Abdullahi Yusuf Abubakar State Accountant and Abdulmumin Usman all of the Independent National a Electoral Commission,INEC in Zamfara state, for an alleged case of conspiracy, breach of trust and criminal diversion of Ad Hoc staff allowance to the tune of N84, 696,000 (Eighty Four Million, Six Hundred and Ninety Six Thousand Naira).

The petitioner one Abdullahi Nasiru who wrote on behalf of all presiding officers that worked for INEC during the 2019 Presidential and Gubernatorial elections in Zamfara State, alleges that the Adhoc staff were denied payment of their N6,000 movement allowance each for the two elections.  He further alleged that what the Commission paid to them was different from what other states paid their Adhoc staff.

The Commision allegedly paid its staff the sum of N9000 (Nine Thousand Naira ) in Zamfara while other states like Sokoto State, the commission paid N12000 (Twelve Thousand Naira ).  Investigation by the EFCC revealed that none of the 10,500 presiding officers who participated in the elections were paid their entitlements commutatively put at N84, 696,000 (Eighty Four Million, Six Hundred and Ninety Six Thousand Naira).

BBNaija: Cee-C denies shading Tacha after sharing a 'misunderstood' post

A mild drama played out today on Instagram as Cee-C's caption to a photo she shared led to a heated exchange in the comment section of her post.

The 2018 first runner-up of Big Brother Naija captioned a photo she shared "They can steal your recipe but the sauce won’t taste the same! STAY FOCUSED! —RealTalkKim"

The caption was however misunderstood by Tacha's fans who thought it was a shade for the disqualified housemate as many have likened her to Cee-C before her exit from the reality show.

See the exchange that ensued and Cee-C's response to it below;

Faisal Abdulrasheed Maina, the 20-year old son, of former chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, allegedly pulled a pistol on security agents when operatives of the Department of State Security (DSS) arrested both of them Monday, September 30, 2019.

The Public Relations Officer of the DSS National Headquarters, Abuja, Dr Peter Afunanya, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.  According to the statement titled DSS ARRESTS ABDULRASHEED MAINA, made available to reporters in Abuja, the DSS in a combined operation, on 30th September 2019, arrested Maina at the Pennsylvania Avenue Hotel in Abuja.

He said the arrest followed a request by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to the Service to assist in the apprehension of the suspect.

Quote:“Maina was arrested in company of his 20-year-old son, Faisal Abdulrasheed Maina, who unsuccessfully tried to resist the arrest.
“The lad even pulled a pistol against the security agents involved in the operation. He was, however, disarmed and arrested. He is a final year student at the Canadian University of Dubai where he is studying Telecoms Engineering.
“Items recovered from the suspects include a pistol with live ammunition, a bulletproof Range Rover SUV, a BMW Saloon car, foreign currencies, a phantom 7 drone and sensitive documents.
“The suspects and the recovered items will be handed over to the EFCC for further investigations and appropriate necessary actions.
“It is instructive to note that the operation is as a result of a renewed interagency collaboration among security and law enforcement agencies.
“The Service has always subscribed to such collaboration believed to be important in national security management and therefore, hopes to sustain the initiative in mitigating the current threats against public safety and national critical assets,” the statement read.

Enugu Pastor kills his girlfriend for refusing to buy him a tricycle, steals her money to renovate his church

A Pastor identified as Chukwuemeka Ezeh has been arrested by the Enugu State Police command for killing his girlfriend, Miss Ogechukwu Ogbodo at her apartment located at Railway axis of Enugu metropolis.

The General Overseer of Royal Prince Prophetic Ministry whose girlfriend is a recharge card sales agent until her death, began fighting with her after she refused to buy him a tricycle.

He was reportedly on a visit on July 15, 2019,  when he discovered that his girlfriend of five years came home with N2m which she intended to deposit in the bank the next day. Upon making the discovery, Pastor Ezeh killed his girlfriend, ransacked her house and took the money and title documents to her landed property.

The New Generation Church Pastor subsequently used the money to procure musical instruments and carried out a total renovation of his church. When interrogated by the police, the murder suspect said he killed her for refusing to buy him a tricycle even though she has been buying tricycles for people in the community on hire purchase.

Enugu State Police spokesperson, Ebere Amaraizu further told newsmen that the suspect will be arraigned in court when investigation has been concluded.

Missing N35m JAMB money: Witness tells court that officials tried to bribe auditor, case adjourned till January 21, 2020

Samuel Saleh Umoru, chief accounting officer of the Makurdi Zonal Office of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB and Mrs Philomina Chieshe, a clerical officer in the same office, conspired to stop the board’s auditor, Mallam Ibrahim Oba, from carrying out a financial audit of the zonal office with a bribe of N50,000.

This was revealed by the first prosecution witness, Patrick Obilo who is also an auditor with the Board, as he appeared before Justice Peter Affen of the FCT High Court, Maitama, Abuja on Monday, September 30, 2019.

Umoru and Chieshe are first and second defendants in a charge brought against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), over the disappearance of JAMB’s N35,000,000 in its Makurdi Zonal Office, where both work.

During Obilo’s cross-examination by prosecution counsel, Ekele Iheanacho, he disclosed that Oba was sent to the Makurdi Office of JAMB in 2016 for a routine examination of the account books and consignment notes, which show quantities of items supplied such as e-facility cards-used to check and print results, change of course card, scratch cards, question and answer cards, receipts or tellers.

He revealed that during this procedure Chieshe visited Oba’s hotel room with an envelope containing a sum of N50,000 as “gift” from her boss, Umoru, and urged him to return to Abuja. The auditor according to Obilo, sensed danger and returned to Abuja and reported the situation to the head of JAMB’s Audit Unit, James Ochijele, who ordered that the N50,000 “gift” be paid into the Board’s account.

Ochijele had to replace Oba with the witness (Obilo) for the same assignment in the Makurdi office. While examining the books of accounts in the Makurdi Office, Obilo said he discovered a shortfall in the proceeds from the sales of e-facility cards and change of course forms to the tune of N35,480,000, which were not remitted to the Board’s account.

Asked for explanation, Chieshe began to cry as she gave all manners of justifications for the disappearance of the money, including a tale that a mystery snake had been swallowing the money in Umoru’s office, even as it was kept in a safe.

In another incredible story, she claimed that a mermaid appeared to her in her bedroom to attack her at various times and that her house maid is a witch. Real trouble started for Umoru and Chieshe with the coming on board of Professor Ishaq Oloyede as JAMB’s registrar, who set up a reconciliation committee to look into the accounts of all the state offices. This committee unearthed monumental stealing.

With no objections from counsel to the defendants, the prosecution tendered the report of the reconciliation committee and its summary, which Justice Affen admitted in evidence.
Under cross-examination by Mark Fees, counsel to Chieshe, Obilo said each of the e-facility cards, change of course forms and other cards are sold at N1000 per unit, disclosing that Umoru was the coordinator of the sales at that time in his capacity as the chief accounting officer of the Board’s Makurdi Office and had the record of every cards that were delivered to the office and the proceeds realised from the sales.

Responding to Chieshe’s claim that she made some payments into the Board’s account but has lost the tellers, the witness revealed that the bank statements which were traced for confirmation of the said payments did not establish any of such payments as claimed by the second defendant . The trial judge adjourned the matter till January 21, 2020, for continuation trial.

Atan-Kekere Residents Chased Out By Floods, Bad Roads(Pictures)
User Avatar Forum: Other Stories
Posted by: Edoman - 10-02-2019, 12:26 PM - No Replies

Quote:Residents of Atan-Kekere in the Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area of Lagos State have lamented the hardship they are facing as a result of the dilapidated state of the Atan-Kekere Road and the poor drainage channels causing the area to be flooded during rainy seasons.

The residents, while speaking with PUNCH Metro, alleged that the road and drainage channel being constructed by the Chairman of the Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA, Shakiru Yusuf, at Atan-Nla would increase their suffering, because it would direct flood from adjoining areas like the Borbit filling station road, Amule bus stop and Atan-Nla Road, among others, to the Atan-Kekere Road, which is currently in a deplorable state due to incessant flooding.

One of the landlords in the community, Adeniyi Adeola, said tenants were moving out of the area due to flooding, adding that the road and drainage construction, when completed, would turn Atan-Kekere into a depository for flood.

The engineer stated, “The construction being done by our chairman, Shakiru Yusuf, at Atan-Nla Road will have consequences on the adjoining streets, including the Atan-Kekere Road, which is currently in a bad state. In fact, the water passing through the drainage on the Atan-Kekere Road has no link to another road; so, the whole area is always flooded and this has negatively affected the road and our source of livelihood as tenants have been packing out of Atan-Kekere, but some of us cannot leave because our properties are here.

“Our area is usually in a very terrible state during the rainy season; fences are collapsing, because the volume of water coming from Atan-Nla is deposited on Atan-Kekere. For instance, the flood coming from Atan-Nla Road is from areas like Owolabi Street, Adogan playground, Borbit filling station road and Amule bus stop, and it settles on Atan-Kekere Road, especially, Unity-Agedo Street, among others.

“As I speak to you, the Atan-Kekere Road is no longer motorable; so, the construction of the Atan-nla Road will worsen our situation. This is because the volume of water coming from the road, which is on the high side, is too much for the Atan-Kekere Road, which is by the lower side of the community and leads to nowhere.

Another resident, Toba Fatiregun, while urging the chairman to redirect the drainage to another location or extend it to the Atan-Kekere Road instead of stopping at the Atan-Nla Road, said residents living on the Atan-Kekere Road were no longer safe.

The Osun State indigene stated, “A lot of residents, including myself, had to abandon our homes as a result of flood. We are not safe; in fact, I have left the place for months. Before I built my house, this was never the case; car owners can hardly drive into their houses now.

“Our plea is that the local government should extend the construction to the Atan-Kekere Road, or redirect the drainage to another location, because the Atan-Kekere Road is being used as a water depot without considering that people live and have their properties there.”

Another resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity, while urging the state government to partner the Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA to extend the construction of the Atan-Nla Road to Atan-Kekere Road, alleged that Yusuf said he had no budget for an extension when the landlords and residents complained to him regarding the problems that the construction of the road was posing.

He said, “We implore the state government to partner the LCDA; we have met with the chairman to express our concern that the project will make our lives worse and that he should extend it. But he told us that he had no budget for the project to be extended to the Atan-Kekere Road, but said he would open the Atan-Kekere Road to connect Asipa Street.

“But that has not been done and the water has been flowing into surrounding compounds. We want him to redirect the drainage to another location because we are suffering.

When contacted, the secretary to the Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA, Abiodun Agbaje, said the local government’s tender board committee had approved the extension of the construction to Atan-Kekere, adding that the project would commence soon.

Agbaje said, “The road in question is the continuation of Atan-Kekere to link the main road at Asipa; as I speak to you, the second phase of the project has been awarded to the contractor. Any moment from now, the contractor will move to the site to continue the project from where the construction at Atan-Nla stopped.

“The Unity-Agedo Road at Atan-Kekere had been constructed before, but that area is waterlogged and because of that, this new construction will be done with interlocking stones like that of the Atan-Nla Road.

“The drainage will be widened to accommodate the water coming from the Atan-Nla Road so that it will not be spilling onto the Unity-Agedo Road. The local government’s tender board committee has already approved the contractor that will execute the project.”

North Korea agrees to meet with US officials to resume nuclear talks after 8 months stand off

North Korean officials have agreed to meet with United states government officials this weekend to resume nuclear talks after almost 8 months of stand off, according to a report by North Korea’s state news agency KCNA published Tuesday.

This comes weeks after former US National Security adviser, John Bolton, a well known anti-North Korea hawk, was sacked by Donald Trump on Twitter for his differences with the US president on North Korea, Afghanistan and Iran.

Months earlier, North Korean negotiators said they will be unwilling to negotiate with the US if they maintain their hawkish demands of unilateral disarmament and if John Bolton remains on the negotiating team, after the US and North Korea failed to reach any nuclear agreement and Trumped walked out during the last summit between the US and North Korea in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Kim wanted sanctions relief in exchange for partial disarmament but after Trump rejected such demands, North Korea has run several short-range missile tests angering US allies Japan and South Korea.

Citing a statement issued by North Korea’s Vice Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui, KCNA reported the two countries will make preliminary contact on Friday before sitting down for working-level talks Saturday.

“The delegates of the DPRK side are ready to enter into the DPRK-U.S. working-level negotiations,” Choe said in the statement, according to Reuters. The foreign minister used North Korea’s official name, which is the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).

“It is my expectation that the working-level negotiations would accelerate the positive development of the DPRK-U.S. relations,” Choe said.

One arrested as police foil bank robbery in Lagos

A suspect has been arrested by the Lagos state police command following a failed robbery attack on a bank in Olorunshogo area of Mushin.

Police officers from Olosan Police Station led by the Divisional Police Officer, SP Ayodele Arogbo stopped by the bank robbery which was carried out by the arrested suspect identified as Mahmoud Mohammed and his gang members on September 24 around 3.50pm.

The robbers who retreated with bullet wounds, came on two motorcycles to rob the bank. Four locally-made short guns and 45 pieces of live ammunition were recovered from Mohammed who confessed to being a member of a gang that specialised in robbing banks and their customers in Lagos and other states.

Quote:“Once a customer withdraws money from the bank, we will monitor and confirm if it is a huge withdrawal. We will then trail such a person to their house and rob him or her. We have successfully done that on several occasions. Recently, we robbed a woman in Ijegun through the same method, but we didn’t hurt her,” the arrested suspect said.

Confirming the arrest, Lagos State Police spokesperson, Bala Elkana said the Commissioner of Police Zubairu Muazu, has ordered that the case be transferred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad for further investigation as effort to arrest other members of the gang has been intensified.

No epidemic outbreak in Queens College - Ministry of Education Permanent Secretary

The permanent secretary of the Ministry of Education, Sonny Echono has debunked claims of an epidemic outbreak at Queens College Lagos.

Speaking to Daily Sun on Tuesday October 1, Echono insisted that there was no epidemic outbreak but flu and malaria cases amid media report of 700 students being affected.

Quote:“There was no cholera outbreak but flu and malaria cases, which the Principal informed me have been brought under control. I am on my way to Lagos for on the spot assessment" he said in confirmatory message.

Upon getting to the school, the Permanent Secretary said he spoke extensively with the doctors and nurses who also debunked claims of the epidemic.

Quote:“I want to say that all such reports going round about outbreak of epidemic in Queens College is total falsehood.
“A I am speaking with you, I just left that school about one hour ago and on my way back to the airport en-route Abuja.
“I chose to dash down to Lagos to come and see things for myself, because such stories are damaging.
“On getting to the college, I went straight to the sick bay. Yes I saw a few students being attended to on account of flu and malaria.
“I spoke with the nurse at length, spoke with the doctor, the principal and some other persons, what I discovered is that the students were majorly having flu and malaria, nothing more.
“I was equally conducted round the college to do some inspection and based on this, I can confidently tell you that there is nothing like epidemic,” he said.

He also warned against the spread of fake news which according to him might be instigated by some staff of the school fighting each other.  The Principal of the College, Tokunbo Yukubu-Oyinloye also debunked the viral media report.

Quote:She said: “We don’t have any outbreak in our school. What is happening to the students was just normal flu because of the cold weather. Our doctor, Ojo, would have given you more details now but he is busy with some government officials.”
